(bite your tongue, bite your tongue)

well, this certainly doesn't do much for my opinion of football players and coaches. (understatement)

Ban them from playing this year (the football team)........ They dont deserve to play after this stupid stunt..........

Testosterone. Ain't it great?

"Hyuh, hyuh. Get off da field ya moe-ron. Us MEN are here now."
2001-07-15 10:57:24 AM
hey it wasn't a Band it was a Drum Corps!!!! How dare you insult them like that? ;)

I think the main reason this sort of thing could happen is that many college football players do not realize that they are no longer children. Many of them ARE, but the law no longer recognizes the fact. In high school they could push around guys smaller than themselves and the worst they would get is suspended or something. They pass that 18 year mark and suddenly they have to pay for their actions, sometimes.

I would also like to metion that not all of them have this attitude. The ration of REAL ASSholes to regular guys seems to be about what we saw here, though, 2-3 out of 20.

It has nothing to do with them being football players. It's more an insecure guy thing. Mostly, it's the little guys that are the worst with this stuff. My friends and I refer to it as the Little-Big-Man syndrome. And because they're small, they feel as though they must prove their manlihood by coersion.

I'd agree with Rebbic, the actions of a few should not define an entire football team.

they should be stoned.

Me am football player, me smash, 2 + 2 =5, ME break law with slap on wrist. Me am treated like royalty for scoring points.

I hate football players and other town royalty. Our town is still screaming over the fact that the star football players and the other town kids with the right names basically trashed the school so bad the the state police were called in, but once it was found out who they were it was swept under the carpet. They graduated with full honors and all the scholarships. If a lowly commoner like me had done that I would have been crucified.

This could be the coolest thing EVER!

Face it. Nobody likes band fags. They are an embarrasment to society.

They are dorks, geeks, wimps.

At least put forth an EFFORT to be a decent member of society!
2001-07-15 01:48:25 PM
They do TLBeer, unlike most football players who end up drinking away their pathetic life in trailer parks across the nation.

They should fire the coach, and suspend the team from playing for the next year or so.

TLBreer:"At least put forth an EFFORT to be a decent member of society!"

??? Huh???

I wonder why it is that people feel intellectual bullying is so superior to physical bullying. In the end, you're just bullies.
2001-07-15 03:10:53 PM
The only player arrested was Anthony Falbo, 20, a rising junior from Holy Cross High School in River Grove.
Where in the hell is this place? A 20 y/o junior? Oh my goodness this is pretty farkin funny. Starting at quarterback for Trailer Trash High, 5 time junior Anthony Falbo.....

I wonder why it is that people feel intellectual bullying is so superior to physical bullying.

What is "intellectual bullying"? Is that where people smack others across the back of the head with copies of Proust? Are people mocking others for not understanding James Joyce or something? Tell me!!!!
2001-07-15 04:45:44 PM
Lol. They paid for it and got sacked. Hmm, smart coach. Mayhaps tell the kids to go around them, not crush them? Most of em acted smart at least. Or, even better: Take em for a jog around something. Run around the city, get some ex cercise yourself.
2001-07-15 04:49:34 PM
And one time, in band camp...
2001-07-15 05:31:44 PM
Breer, I'd like to know how football players are more decent members of society than Drum Corps members?

"They are geeks, fags, wimps."

I hate to burst your bubble, but football players can be geeks, fags, and wimps too. There are people in every group that may do things that make them percieved as geeks fags and wimps, but it shows that those who label the group because of the few are more ignorant then the people are putting down. As you can see, there are no insults to football players in this post because I am not ignorant. Bill Gates was a "geek". Larry Ellison was a "geek". Jobs and Wozniak were "geeks" too. As much as you might not like it, geeks make the world go round.

And yes, i am on the high school drum line. APDL Rulez!!
2001-07-15 07:09:04 PM
There has NEVER been a cool marching band member. Never.

Don't hate the beautiful people.
2001-07-15 07:27:33 PM
NEVER, huh? There are a lot of marching band people that are in *GASP* football too!!! Oh no, that means that there must be geeks, fags, and wimps in football, too!! Oh NO!!!

Don't hate the drum line.
2001-07-15 09:54:42 PM
Maybe they mistook the fat tuba player for the football.
2001-07-15 10:08:12 PM
Given the average intelligence of a football player, i bet that's the case!
2001-07-16 06:11:52 AM
Psykomantis.. any plans to march drum corps? My brother marched snare several years in Magic of Orlando before hiking out to san fran to march with the Blue Devils. Though he's "outgrown" in now, I still like to catch the shows

Drum Corps is a pretty positive experience form many young people. I know everybody groans about "band geeks" or whatever, but these people are pretty serious and a whole hell of a lot more talented than your average band member.

GO BD!! ; )

Chong, He was a Junior in college and happened to come from that high school.

This whole thing shows that its the coaches that are the problem. Reminds me of every gym teacher I ever had. This condition coach was pissed off at life because he was the conditioning coach and not a real coach. So he took it out on anyone he could. What a dumbass
2001-07-16 01:52:02 PM
Pickle, yur brother was in the Blue Devils? That is definately something to be proud of! I saw the blue devils at a show/clinic recently in Orlando and i was in awe. I definately want to be in something like that! Oh well, enough about that, I need to go practice! ;)

All hail the drum line :P

Rebbic is right. I worked for the Seattle Seahawks (BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!) training camp a couple of years ago, and let me tell you, they were the biggest bunch of children i've ever had to deal with. All they did was biatch and moan about everything from the taste of the food to the size of their rooms... Nevermind the fact that they get paid a retarded amount of money or the fact that they were there to (um) train.

I witnessed one player eating some eggs. Simple enough right? Nope, he had to stand up in the middle of the dining room/cafeteria and shout an obsenity ("FARK!") and spit the food out from his mouth onto the table! yep, i did see this happen.

I then realized that these "men" have been coddled since day one. In highschool they were untouchable, in college, the same (they don't attend class yet they graduate?). They never had to grow up, because people (i.e. coaches etc.) covered their asses.

These are our children's heros... yeah. right.
2001-07-16 03:40:33 PM
Cool. Drum Corps nuts fark. Glad to hear it.
2001-07-16 06:46:08 PM

To be fair, we have to acknowledge that there are football players that bust thier asses and have thier heads on straight. We also must acknowledge that there is also a portion of band members who occasionally (sp?) do put us to shame, although the latter is very rare. There is a lot of discipline involved in band, especially in marching band. In football, this is not an issue most of the time. I'm not saying that football players are undisciplined, i'm saying that there seems to be more discipline in bands than football.
