Yet another reason not to support Hillary. This is getting easier and easier.

Who does this guy have nude photos of? He keeps getting picked for these gigs.

I thought the headline had to be satire, but a quick check of Google news, and whaddya know? Nice choice, Hillary.

Couldn't she a token negro without his record?

I wish she would at least try to look like she is not corrupt. I mean she is going to be the next President of the United States try to look the part.

The Stealth Hippopotamus: I mean she is going to be the next President of the United States try to look the part.

This blind faith in the "inevitable" election of Hillary is possibly the most amusing thing I see in this presidential race. SHe is neither the best, nor the most electable Democrat right now.

Also, don't be surprised if the "we're so far from Bush we're further away than Hillary" republicans don't pull something off. And Hillary, or whoever gets the Democratic nod, will have to hope congress has done some tangible and measurable things against the "climate of corruption" by then, else that will also work against them. (i.e. "The people elected a Democrat majority in congress and nothings changed...")

Not that the Republicans have anything great to pony out there either. I can only hope Guliani and McCain get caught making out at the next debate so get them out of the way... even then Romney isn't any prize.

if she was looking for a politician to chair her committee, Barack Obama would have been a better choice. He does not have all the baggage Alcee has.

Thanks for giving me another reason not to vote for you Hillary!

\Obama08!

Amen.

Also, are these real impeachments, or Bill Clinton impeachments?

wil: Also, are these real impeachments, or Bill Clinton impeachments?

Real. He is one of I think only two federal judges ever to be impeached off the bench. Then he ran for Congress.

Well. Since I never actually had any intention of voting for her, this doesn't really affect my vote.
Except to make my not voting for her more of a certain thing.

Why would you want to be the front runner right now? I am telling you the only reason Obama is still in the race is because Hillary needs him to help her collect money and take some of the heat off of her. When the time comes she is going to field dress that guy.
Dont get me wrong I dont want her to win! I would love for Fred Thompson to get the job. However no-one and I mean no-one wants this more then Hillary and she is a great politician! It's like a twelve year old getting in the ring with a heavy weight champ!

An impeachment, is an impeachment, is an impeachment, Star Trek Boy.

Oh, actually, he was the sixth judge ever removed by the Senate. He didn't get convicted in federal court, because his co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify after being convicted of bribery. Despite this, the House voted 413-3 to impeach him from the bench. (BTW, Borders was later pardoned by - guess who? - Bill Clinton. So for those of you wondering if Alcee Hastings knows where some bodies are buried, I'm with you.)

The people in Washington need to wise up, America is losing faith in the whole Federal dealio fast.

can we just agree to burn it down and start over?

revskippy: This blind faith in the "inevitable" election of Hillary is possibly the most amusing thing I see in this presidential race.

The funniest thing is that this idiocy is being catapulted almost exclusively by Right Wing blogs and pundits. The only chance the Republicans have of winning the presidency is if Hillary is nominated. So they're doing this sort of preemptive rallying of the base. It's just desperation at this point. It's wishful thinking.

The fact that Hillary has absolutely no chance whatsoever to win the nomination, let alone the presidency, seems to be something they can't even bring themselves to consider. But she's massively unpopular among the Democratic base; there literally isn't one Democrat I know that would even think about voting for her in the primaries.

But, as it stands, she's still (somewhat understandably) the candidate who engenders the most hate from the opposition, and they're banking on her winning the nomination. But you can tell, if you push back the bullsh*t, that not even the Right believes she has a chance. That's what's so funny about watching the halfhearted attempts by them to forecast End Times for America due to this "inevitable" Hillary presidency. It's so unbelievably farking transparent it almost makes me feel sorry for them.

2007-06-08 6:28:35 PM
And people wonder why folks isolate themselves out in the boonies in compounds loaded with weapons and supplies to last decades. The government is just turning into a farking circus of corruption. I don't care what party's in charge. This is getting sickening.

sigdiamond2000: The only chance the Republicans have of winning the presidency is if Hillary is nominated.

I wouldn't be so sure. Edwards has too much baggage and is too far into this class warfare nonsense to win, and Obama - well, I don't think he can win, but not for reasons that make me happy about it.

2007-06-08 6:33:30 PM
Errata: Saying she's "massively" unpopular among the base is an overstatement on my part. I know she's doing fairly well in the polls, but I don't put much into that. I'm just not seeing much support for her anywhere.

2007-06-08 6:35:48 PM
This is yet another reason for me to support Hillary.

Heh, 4 whole years of defending things as bad as I've seen defended around here for the last 6... Yeah, I could do that at this point while standing on one foot.

Nabb1: I wouldn't be so sure. Edwards has too much baggage and is too far into this class warfare nonsense to win

If you would've asked me a few months ago, I would've agreed with you. Now I'm starting to think he might be electable. Either way, I don't think it's going to be Clinton or Edwards who ends up getting the nomination.

2007-06-08 6:43:31 PM
I, for one, won't vote for Hillary during the primaries. Democrats should base their votes on job qualifications, not name recognition.

\Remember what happened with the Republican candidates back in 2000?

2007-06-08 6:45:37 PM
Mordant: Yeah, I could do that at this point while standing on one foot.

You'll have to. She's going to take one of your legs for the "common good". A guy on the radio told me so.

See, the problem is that the Dems you know are people who are probably politically aware and self-identify as such. Those people seem to support other candidates overwhelmingly. But general polls show Hillary doing very strong against her competition. The big question is who will show up to the primaries? I would guess it would somewhat obviously slant towards the 'committed' democrats--but what if polls show her leading then and people make the same sort of 'electability' calculation that made Kerry the nominee last time?

Actually, they run the gamut. Some of them are complete idiots :)

I just don't think Kerry was nearly the divisive figure in his own party that Hillary is right now. I think that will be the difference in this race. Of course, I'm open to the possibility that I could be completely wrong.

Blind partisan!!!

I have no clue what is going to happen in the primaries. I keep thinking HC is going to lose a lot of her support, but polls just keep showing her plugging along.

At the risk of being laughed of teh intarwebs, I think Gore will announce he's running, win the nomination, pick Obama for VP, and win the presidency.

Call it a hunch.

Further to my point, consider the legion of photoshoppers who are in the trenches as we speak fighting the good fight against Hillary. What chance could she possibly stand with the likes of them breathing down her neck?

I'll bet veedeevadeevoodee has plenty of ammo and is holed up in a subterranean bunker under a house somewhere just waiting to unleash his full arsenal.

Like they don't have gigs of these in readiness:

The Clinton family is just as corrupt as the Bush family, which would explain why they're friends. The letter next to their name doesn't mean a thing. Obama or Paul are the only people I'd vote for. Screw the Clinton dynasty and PNAC puppets.

2007-06-08 8:12:22 PM
I believe they were actually named co-chairs of her campaign in Florida. Not quite the same thing as "nation campaign co-chair".

Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush, Clinton...... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Aw, crap. She was actually bringing me around. She did great in the last debate. I went from "gonna vote third party if she's the nominee" to "I'll vote for Obama in the primary but if she's the nominee I'll vote for her in the general" by her performance in the last debate. Elections are won and lost by subtle changes in thinking such as mine. This is the type of move that will lend me to go back to my original position.

However, it is also the type of move that might win her support with black voters, which will help her in the primary.

This is on a Republican blog? Strange. I thought Republicans didn't have a problem with stuff like this. Criminalization of politics and all that.

I thought being corrupt was part of being presidential.

I didn't figure Alcee tapped Hillery.
Not a pleasant thought.
I really never blamed Bill for straying once in a while.
Maybe he needs help licking his wounds over the loss of his chair on the defense committee.

Gee, Hillary surrounding herself with corrupt assholes.

Can anyone really say they're surprised?

.PLEASE !

Let me start out by saying I'm not defending Hillary at all.

But it's funny to see our resident Republican apologists suddenly concerned about corruption. I only wish you'd have come around sooner... where have you been for the past six years?

Yeah, I'm looking straight at you, Weaver95.

2007-06-08 10:21:40 PM
Barf.

/wasn't going to vote for her in the primaries anyway
//should she win the primary (barf) will still vote for her in the general over any of the ridiculous GOP candidates
///nothing changes, dufresne! nothing!

If she even had a shred of dignity, she would quit the race.

2007-06-08 10:33:24 PM
Not like I was going to vote for Hillary before. This simply further crystalizes it.

2007-06-08 10:46:02 PM
I'd vote for Hillary for one reason, she will bring a reign of terror down upon Republicans that so desperately deserve it.

Hopefully the country would survive, on the other hand, the country survived Bush so far.
