Why are mosquitos still around, as a species? They don't benefit us in any way that I can see. Why haven't humans gotten together as a species and taken them out yet.

If it were up to me, I would get rid of all insects and arachnids, but then again, that would have a devastating effect on the ecosystem.

I hate ticks... at least you can see a mosquito and smash it. With ticks you have to whip out your pocket knife or lighter.
