(Yahoo)   Huffington Post notes that Obama skipped an Iowa caucus dinner to attend a California fund-raiser, but insists this is because he's too independent to run with the pack--not because he's chasing money   (news.yahoo.com) divider line

MorningBreath: Iowa does not mean much anymore.

Besides, he'd kind of stand out a bit there.

America deserves its rightful president denied by the supreme court and crazy Katherine Harris.

Big whoop. So what if he would rather get money than don his robe and wizard hat and attend the 14th Conclave of the Democratic Order?

Not bad. Going to places where all you have to do is show up and say you're a Democrat, and get showered with money.

This is a no-brainer. He can hit Iowa later. Milk that gravy train while you can, Obama. It gets harder from here.

He's been in Iowa ALOT lately. I think he can miss one dinner.

Why are they hating on Obama? He needs to grab every nickel and dime he can, he'll need it when he comes up against the Clinton machine.

That's going to be one ugly episode when those two fight it out.

I hope you folks nominate Ron Paul... seriously. On the off chance a Republican wins in the next election, I would at least hope it would be someone good for the country.

Not a chance. Ron Paul needs to get off of our coattails and do his own battle of Rosie'isms. Not our style. He's even a Texan, which just adds salt to the wound.

I think the best we have is an old washed up actor.

Not going to happen. Republicans are quite the big government party (no matter how much they say other wise) and Mr. Paul is quite the opposite.

If anyone knows about chasing money it's Huffington.

Money buys advertising and marketing. Advertising and marketing wins elections.

Whatever it takes to win. I want to see change, and if Obama has to play the game to win, then so be it. Just win!

There's a common misconception by many republicans that they are rich, or that by having republicans in power they will be better off financially. In order to really appreciate what the republican party does, you need to be super rich. Not the run of the mill 6 figure income, maxed out credit card rich. I'm talking hedge fund, accredited investor, blueblood rich.
Here's a tip: if your taxes are complicated enough to need an accountant (not H&R block, a real private CPA)who will keep you up to date quarterly, and you know your financial advisor's home number, you should vote republican. Otherwise it's probably in your best interest to stick with the other guys.

Unless you're just an idiot, then you can vote republican because you 'support the troops'
