I'm sure the aliens would have liked to stick around Chilliwack a bit longer but they had to hurry back to their home planet, they've been gone gone gone, gone so long, gone gone gone so long.

Dammit. The longer I stay on Fark, the more I'm finding out that my knowledge of "obscure" music isn't really obscure.

Step 1) Find internet community with like-minded individuals.
Step 2) Make cultural references.
Step 3) Be aghast when like-minded individuals like-mindedly enjoy similarly culture.

a large triangular-shaped object appear just after midnight in the skies

Whatcha gonna do when they only fly at night? Of course they're going to be mistaken for street lights.

The pie is pretty good, but not really worth going out of your way for. You should tell people to try the spinach salad. It's apparently fantastic (I don't eat vegetables, so I haven't tried it).

Seriously, why would aliens do any of the supposedly "observed" behavior that has been reported over the years? Has logic taken an extended holiday for these people? (rhetorical)

I have an otherwise intelligent friend who loves to watch "Unsolved Mysteries" and gets all wrapped up in this nonsense. I watched an episode with him once. It featured a frumpy, undersexed, midwestern woman. She claimed she was being regularly visited by aliens, and serving as some sort of surrogate mother for them. According to her she had been impregnated by aliens several times. In her "other" life, she was, of course, single and had no HUMAN children of her own. She lived by herself in some nameless rural community.

I said to my friend, "Friend, this woman is clearly delusional and making these stories up as some sort of sick fantasy to give her otherwise mundane, pointless existence some meaning."

He said, "OK, maybe this isn't a good example, but all the other stories on here are true."

????????
Some people will just never get it. And they will continue to buy this crap, and it will never go away.

2007-06-02 10:17:51 AM
I can see it.. the smell from all the cows was what was attracting the aliens...

\on a drive to Van.. hold your breath for an hour through the valley---bleeeeeeeeaaaahghh

"Friend, this woman is clearly delusional and making these stories up as some sort of sick fantasy to give her otherwise mundane, pointless existence some meaning."

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

It's almost almost the most mundane, mediocre people who claim to possess or have witnessed the "paranormal". Sort of like "well, I'm a complete and utter failure at all other aspects of life, but at least I'm psychic".

// been so long awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy

This morning, on my walk I got hit with water FROM THE SKY!

I pressume this "Sky Water" was actually jetisoned from an alien craft...or worse!

THEY to cover it up on the weather radio by calling it "rain"....

but what they don't know is I believe!!!!

2007-06-02 10:31:43 AM
It's the Phoenix Lights all over again.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Lights
The craft seen was probably a "Silent Vulcan" which is believed to be a stealth jet/dirigible hybrid (I'm getting my tech reports from Popular Mechanics and Popular Science, not from kook radio hosts). The craft can pull some serious G's or cruise along silently on props. The Silent Vulcans are very flexible mission wise and are believed capable of carrying from up to four fighters.

Reminds me of a Bill Hicks quote. Thought I would share, maybe help get your weekend off to a good start:

People are bringing shotguns to UFO sightings in Fife, Alabama. I asked a guy, "Why do you bring a gun to a UFO sighting?" Guy said, "Way-ul, we didn' wanna be ab-duc-ted." If I lived in Fife, Alabama, I would be on my hands and knees every night praying for abduction.

FTA Francis agrees that what he saw could be explained as a bunch of birds flocking together into a triangular shape, but frankly he simply prefers the UFO explanation.

And that explains the UFO phenomenon

/[They] want to believe.

-Well, ifin it's not 'cuz of de chilli, it mus' be 'cuz of de wack!

Chilliwack and Abbotsford, the only two places I've seen crop circles. Crop circles located in fields surround by such stretches of mud there's no way anyone got in there unless it was by helicoptor.

Of course, the idea of drunk helicoptor pilots pulling pranks is kind of scary.

2007-06-02 12:03:52 PM
Wow, you guys should RTFA. The article said nothing about aliens. They just saw a UFO.

What's a UFO?

Unidentified Flying Object.

When you see a light in the sky and you can't tell whether it's a plane or a helicopter? That's a UFO. You know why? Cause you can't identify it.

I don't know why everybody here seems to think "Oooh! A UFO! They think dem aliens are here! Yee-haw!"

If you see something flying in the air and aren't sure what it is then by definition it's a UFO. Doesn't mean it's aliens, just means you aren't sure what it is. Too many crazy area 51 alien shows have people thinking whenever you say UFO you mean aliens.

2007-06-02 12:44:41 PM
It was DEFINITELY unidentified
