He says, "She's pretty hot, herself."

I ran into mine about ten years after high school. Not five minutes after I was talking about her. It was a bit too eerie... and I haven't seen her since.

/ until about five minues from now, obviously

She got pregnant and had an abortion, and then wnt crazy and I think lives on a commune somewhere.

Is cause and effect?

woodpecker from mars: Mine's dead.

I see what you did there. How did you get away with it, or are you farking from prison?

Uh, the first girl I ever kissed in grade school moved away, but not real far, so she left our grade school but then we went to the same high school together.

She was butt ugly and had a schnozz the size of Rhode Island.

Well, my brother married his first love. He then proceeded to procreate with her. Later because of her infidelity (thanks to the internet) he divorced her. Now he is on the 18 year plan and is proceeding to complain about how pu$$y ruined his life. I thought it would be a good reality lesson so I put it on youtube.

It is not as popular as him dancing to "Buttons" but that is not the point.

My first love? Meh.

My first heartbreak? Still in contact. She's cool people.

The first one I asked to marry me? I still miss her sometimes.

Where are you Annie?

2007-05-26 09:43:08 AM
she and Ben were BURNING UP THE INTERNET

And this article makes me feel better, I'm not the only one that has that problem @ first love bla bla etc. Screwed up my marriage too. Oh well, it needed screwing up.

2007-05-26 09:47:16 AM
See, the thing about first loves is, in our minds, they never get any older. They don't age, they're still the same as they were when we knew them, so reality is fighting against an ideal that, in all likelihood, probably never existed in the first place.

2007-05-26 09:48:20 AM
Hmm.. I just got back together with mine. Things are going great. The difference is, unlike what the article is talking about, we aren't having an affair. We've stayed in contact on and off over the past 7 years, since he dumped me when I was 17. Since then, we've both grown up and the timing was never right; either I was with someone, he was with someone, or I was out of the country. But since hooking back up, it's been great. It's like having my best friend back. (And bless him, he still sees me the way I was in high school)

2007-05-26 09:48:22 AM
I didn't meet my first love until I was 23. She came to me in a dream not long ago telling me that I would get over being divorced from my second true love. Thanks Doris!

2007-05-26 09:49:07 AM
Mine died young too. Good argument for helmets.

TennesseeTuxedo +1, which leads to an emotional affair whic is the biggest Mind Fark you will ever have.

Hell, I married the only one who wasn't completely insane. Now, does that say something about me, or her...

2007-05-26 09:53:09 AM
She's quite famous now, and wouldn't bother with me. I'll just lust after some other chick I have no chance with, either.

Thanks for bringing that up, publicist-type asshole. I love you, too.

Ran into her younger brother a few years ago, found our where she was, what she was doing.

Still have no interest in contacting the miserable conniving little biatch.

/Not bitter
/Traded WAY up.

2007-05-26 10:00:27 AM
Mine is now a mother of 3 or 4 and I think on welfare cause the guy she left me for 2 days before we were getting married left after knocking her up a ton.

Back when I was still in college, when I was at a summer party with some old friends, I actually hooked up that night with a girl I used to have a major league crush on for nearly all of high school. We used to be good friends, so it wasn't a case of me admiring her from afar and her not knowing I even existed, but it still we never came close to dating.

What's kinda funny is that it didn't re-kindle any old feelings whatsover; that morning I just woke up with a big smile on my face as if I just slayed the big dragon, put my pants on, and left.

Point is, it all depends on how you process things internally. I felt that for those years I had this huge crush on her, she obviously felt I wasn't worth her time as a boyfriend, so now after a few years, I could essentially say "and you're not worth mine either" just on principle.

/it's not like she was bad, either.

testsicles

wow, just wow. Well, basically I looked up an old girlfriend and she got really really FAT.

They all get fat - first loves, first heartbreaks, the girl you married, the girl you didn't marry - all of them. If they're not now, they will be. Unless they're asian.

2007-05-26 10:03:14 AM
"Unless they're asian"

Giggity.

Mine was unfaithful to me. With her ex-boyfriend. Then dumped me. Boo hoo.

But I'm still in college, so I guess I have some time before I awkwardly run into her at the farking grocery store or something.

/would hit it
//then dump it
///take THAT Karrina!

I'll chalk that up to being a learning experience.

1st love... Learned that some people have no moral compass.
2nd love... Learned that game theory sucks when it involves too many low-low compromises.
3rd love... wouldn't call it it love, but the sex is both great and really educational.

2007-05-26 10:08:12 AM
I married mine, 22 years later. Now he's dead. There was real comfort in knowing that he looked at me and still saw who I was 30 years ago. Now there's no one left who does.

2007-05-26 10:08:37 AM
First love and I were forced to be science partners in biology class. I was a hardcore athiest and she was a fundimentalist. Two years later we were dating. Six months later we broke up. Two years later, in college, we were dating again. I was still an athiest and she was coming around to athiesm. We broke up after 9 months. She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska (from Oregon) and I moved to New York City. She married a fire fighter and I married a film editor. She divorced and moved back to Portland. I divorced and moved to Los Angeles. Then I moved to Portland. On September 22, we'll have been married 6 years and that anniversary will also be the 20th anniversary of our first date.

Mine's connected to my wrist.

Tried to get back together with mine after a divorce....meh...no... not good. We're still friends though in fact he hooked me up with the current Mr. Larj.
I'm wondering now if it was some sort of payback.

2007-05-26 10:10:05 AM
Dude, why the hell is that guy (from the article) trying to repair his marriage. She explicitly said she is still torn between the two guys. If your significant other says they are "confused" and are torn between you and somebody else, make the decision easy for them. Dump their cheating ass.

2007-05-26 10:10:46 AM
I married mine fourteen years later...

...by which I mean, specifically, I married her yesterday. :)

/Yeah, I know:
//Day after wedding, why am I on Fark?

Every time I have seen my first love since grade school I have been drunk off my ass ... the first time I couldn't even form a coherent sentence ....

The next time it was on my birthday, I was very drunk, and was with the girl who eventually became my wife ... I talked to the crush for like 2 minutes and found out that she typically hung out at places where the cover charges were more than I made in an hour ... I went back to my dive bar sweetie and proposed a few months later ...

/crush was drinking fruity mixed drink
//wife likes beer

I found the subject of my 7th-grade crush on MySpace.

She had a reputation of being a bit of a flirt back in the day, which is why I was a little dumbfounded to find out she is now a Christian that goes to bible study, etc. etc. etc. Pretty much the Volvo-driving soccer mom Everclear sang about. Or so it seemed.

After talking to her for a few months I discovered that she's the same ol' person she used to be. In fact she's probably worse now that she's in AA and can flirt easier by sending her friends' husbands flirtatious messages.

So yeah, I agree with the headline.

/married wife after 2 months of dating
//married 14 years this year
///sometimes you just know
