HAHAHAHA, subby doesn't know Real Clear Politics.

Hint - NOT "liberal bias."

2007-05-17 1:39:41 PM
Well, duh, submitter! Where have you been?

/Actually, he/she has a point.
//sorta.

2007-05-17 1:42:08 PM
Obama is not the "leader of the free world" (nor should he be).

2007-05-17 1:45:43 PM
There's a growing sense that Real Clear Politics is full of shiat.

2007-05-17 1:46:24 PM
that article was the political equivalent of the "50% chance of increased hurricane activity this season" reports from the noaa.

comparing obama's gaffs to bush? thats like comparing finger amputee to an arm amputee.

Let's see... Obama 1 gaffe. Bush... nine million?

From Fox News: "Obama spokesman Bill Burton said later that the senator meant to say "at least 10," instead of 10,000."

Bush? "I'm honored to be here with the eternal general of the United States, mi amigo Alberto Gonzales." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 4, 2007

That's just the latest one... oh.. here's a good one:

"Either we'll succeed, or we won't succeed. And the definition of success as I described is sectarian violence down. Success is not no violence." --George W. Bush, on Iraq, Washington, D.C., May 2, 2007

"Success is not no violence." I think I'll put that on my kids wall to remind them to do well in school.

It's very simple. Obama occasionally misspeaks. Bush is just a very stupid man.

2007-05-17 1:51:05 PM
They key is the word "occasionally".

2007-05-17 1:53:45 PM
Yeah submitter, you're a victim.

Get over it.

2007-05-17 1:54:24 PM
I guess.

I dunno, just seems like Obama isn't a total dick about it.

/that's just one gal's opinion

2007-05-17 2:02:40 PM
If you offered that headline as a suggestion that Bush is some kind of genius, you failed miserably shrubmitter

2007-05-17 2:07:20 PM
Am I the only one having a hard time finding a problem with Obama getting a number wrong? The first time I heard the story on the news they said town of 13,000 wiped out by tornado. Crap if I was deemed incompetent every time I misspoke or mistyped something I would be out on the streets.

Does Obama get people to change official transcripts of the events to "what he really meant"?

When that happens, call me.

2007-05-17 3:07:57 PM
Yeah, because both men are usually eloquent speakers.

2007-05-17 3:24:58 PM
Yeah, right, Obama and President Chucklenuts are equally competent speakers, and the only reason people might thing otherwise is because of the librul media. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Hmmm...an OPINION piece from REAL CLEAR POLITICS is supposed to say something about the "liberal" media?

OK, shrubby.

2007-05-17 3:33:28 PM
That's Barack HUSSEIN Obama to you subby.

2007-05-17 3:34:02 PM
Their gaffes would be considered equally if it weren't for little things like magnitude and preponderance.

2007-05-17 3:49:50 PM
Considering the overall amount of errors between them, Bush still ranks as a dumbtard. He's a consistently poor speaker.

2007-05-17 4:22:58 PM
What do gaffes in shrubby's headline prove?

2007-05-17 4:24:02 PM
Call me when Obama fills up two entire books with Obamaisms.

2007-05-17 4:25:41 PM
vdantev:Considering the overall amount of errors between them, Bush still ranks as a dumbtard. He's a consistently poor speaker.

Given the amount of time that they (politicians) spend in front of microphones it's not surprising how many times they miss-speak . I think of myself as a fairly good speaker (well I'm alot better speaker then writer) and I would hate to hear all the mistakes I make in a year.
But "laying all cards on the table" I always hated when Tony Blair and Bush held joint press meetings. Tony just sounded so much better then Bush it was depressing. Not only does he have that really cool accent but his word chose was just "spot-on".

Lionel Mandrake: Hmmm...an OPINION piece

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention that. I submit that dumbasses, not cat threads, are ruining TF.

2007-05-17 4:37:48 PM
Why don't they just come out and say they don't like him because he's black/"Muslim"/a Democrat?

When Obama misspeaks so often that he has a term named after him for doing so, and you can fill several books with examples, you might be on to something.

2007-05-17 4:39:24 PM
Subby has a valid point to an extent, but the fact that Every time Bush is in front of a microphone/camera, he tends to say something stupid does tend to bear out the consensus of opinion that George W. Bush is an ignorant farktard.

Look, I'm not a liberal. I dread the idea of Hillary Hitler getting into office, but I can't ignore the stupid. My IQ won't let me just sit here and say, "He's 'our' president, you must support him." He's a dimwitted chuckle head with a warmongering Nazi for a Vice Prsident, and no amount of fluffy bunny mind control will convince me otherwise.

I just wish there was someone running for 2008 that didn't strike me as an idiot, a crook, a naive fool or a hatemonger.

But, that's politics for ya...

I keep rereading the headline and failing to see the word "liberal." Can you point it out to me?

Ya got me! My bad.
Habit, I guess, plus the context of the headline.

MNINMG

Reading comprehension much?

Allow me to paraphrase: The Great Leader is hard done by, and Obama isn't. This is because of media bias.

When viewed in the context of the all pervasive GOP martyr-complex it's not hard to extract the meaning from the headline.

Obama has made more than 1 and Bush has made less than 9 million.

Carry on.

Oh, sorry, B. HUSSEIN Obama has made a few gaffes, and Bush has only made 8 million. What a difference!

MyNameIsNotMervGriffin: I keep rereading the headline and failing to see the word "liberal." Can you point it out to me?

Which bias do you think the headline is accusing the media of? I'll give you a hint: It's not a conservative bias.

LOL. Way to go there Captain Accuracy.

2007-05-17 6:50:02 PM
Bush IS an idiot. What's the problem here?

2007-05-17 6:54:46 PM
Wait. Is this a "b-b-b-but Bush" thread? Awesome.

2007-05-17 6:56:25 PM
jimmyhaha: They key is the word "occasionally".

Bingo. So let's fix this, shall we?

"Obama's - and most other people's - occasional gaffes mean nothing -- everyone misspeaks on occasion. Bush's constant and fundamental gaffes, on the other hand, prove he's a moron further highlight the ineptitude as a leader that he has repeatedly shown through bad policy decisions and diplomatic failures.. In related news, there is no such thing as media bias, but submitter is incapable of recognizing it.

2007-05-17 6:59:08 PM
Consistent, repeated, 'occasional' gaffes = moron.

2007-05-17 7:00:24 PM
think it is too early to draw this conclusion. Mr. Hinderaker is correct to observe that Obama's gaffes are either due to ignorance (a "lack of experience") or obtuseness (a "lack of common sense"). But I think the cause of these gaffes makes all the difference as to whether Obama can compete. And we cannot yet know the cause.

I agree with this!

2007-05-17 7:00:27 PM
When Obama's gaffes are so rare that right wing nuts have to invent some (like the 45mpg in Japan thing) to make Obama look bad I don't think he's doing that poorly with as much public speaking as he does.

2007-05-17 7:01:48 PM
I'd post all of the farkups that have fallen out of Presidents mouth however I think the fark.com servers would run out of disk space.

2007-05-17 7:03:03 PM
No subby.

George Bush makes George Bush a moron.

2007-05-17 7:05:53 PM
Well, shiat. FARK is hating on photobucket today I guess.

Oh well.

2007-05-17 7:06:01 PM
It's not really Bush's gaffes that make me think he's stupid. Those just make me think he's a bad public speaker.

It's his policies, his arguments, and pretty much everything he does in the public eye that make me think he's stupid.

2007-05-17 7:07:06 PM
Churchill2004: Meh. Let's try that again.
