Welcome to Farktography!

This Week's Theme: "Hope"

Description
: Hope. This space intentionally left blank. (The suggester wanted to leave the interpretation of this theme wide open.)

We ask that before submitting your photos you read and adhere to the following submission rules, including but not limited to the following:

- Submissions must be photographs; screen captures do not count as photographs.

- You must be the original photographer of your entry. Do not submit anyone else's photography as your own.

- You are only allowed to enter a photograph once. Do not submit the same photo to another contest later.

- You may enter 3 photos in each contest as long as each photo is of a different composition.

- Please post each photo separately so they can be voted for individually.

Ideally, your photograph should be presented as taken with as little alteration in Photoshop or other image editing programs as possible. No removal or addition of image elements, no spot treatments, and no HDR images, please.

With few exceptions (red-eye removal, sensor or scan dust removal), modifications to the original photograph must be made evenly across the image.
See the rules for more information on acceptable modifications, or check in at the Farktography Forums.

Legal: All photographers submitting photos to this contest are the legal copyright holders for the photos submitted and the photos are not to be considered free for any other use without written consent from the submitting photographers.

To have your photo website listed on the Farktography home page, please send your Fark username and url to admin(at)farktography.net and we'll get you up forthwith. (also, indicate if you're willing to share your photographs for use as source images in PhotoShop contests)

- Drop by the Farktography Forum (for chatting, critique, techtalk and so on)

- Image hosting sites can be found here.

That perches in the soul.

Haha, yes I was driving home one day from Wasilla (Anchorage Jr.) and spotted it beside the Parks Highway. They have all sorts of 'house parts' on that lot, near Mile 49 (aka "Felony Row"), including some buildings that were formerly on Elmendorf, but had to be removed due to asbestos. People are living in them now. I used to live in Willow too. Tuxedo Road, behind the old post office.

I do believe some more heads will roll over the scandal. Ben should do the right thing and turn himself in.

Culminations of my parents hopes and dreams--their two daughters both college graduates. Self taken, which is why I'm only half in the photo. I was too excited when I was taking the picture, and it affected my aim.

"Even now in death,
You open doors for life to enter
You are Winter ...

And everything that's new has bravely surfaced
Teaching us to breathe
What was frozen through is newly purposed
Turning all things green..."

May I use that awesome pic as new wallpaper, please?

Having driven I5 numerous times, I concur. It isn't until you get to Buttonwillow that you hope for the extinction of all mankind...and I'm sure you know about the stockyards I'm referring to there.

Ha! I'm loving that I can bond with my fellow Farkers over the I-5 hate. That's unfortunately the fastest way to drive between where I live now and where I grew up (unless I take my life into my hands and go over the Pacheco Pass), so I'm now a huge fan of Southwest Airlines.

Awesome pics. I voted for all that a) moved me, or b) made me chuckle.

Very well done, Farkers! Thanks for sharing them.

I was hoping we'd have one on my birthday, but it didn't happen. Oh well.

Damn, if I'd known I was submitting a duplicate, I'd have submitted something else.
