I always wondered what became of him.

Ho-lee-shiat that was funny. Thanks, Subby.

My wife and I were watching that live, and during the interview her only comment was "Does he have any teeth?".

TBS experts agree that was pretty funny. Go ahead and laugh.

Glad I wasn't the only one who made the Boucher connection. It was immediately obvious that Borel was big-time Cajun, although I'm sure there were some that thought he had a speech impediment or was mildly retarded.

A couple of weeks ago, I was actually traveling through the area he's from and stopped to get my grub on.

EVERYBODY down there talks like that.

My parents are actually moving to that area in a month. They'll probably need to find a translator.

I guess I'm the only one that thought it was a fairly touching interview, with him missing his mama and daddy, and talking about how his older brother raised him...

The guy deserves to have his moment.

I'm with you, rare to see anyone really that happy in sports anymore, and make no mistake he was happy that he won, not because he's getting a nice paycheck for winning.

kingzeke: not because he's getting a nice paycheck for winning.

I agree with you. While he is getting a nice check, its not like he doesnt have money. He has won over $80 million in payouts so he has earned over $8 million in his career. Not ARod or Tiger Woods, but not too shabby. I dont think the money affected his happiness at all in this race, it was about winning the biggest event in his sport.

Apparently early in his career he lost a race swinging too wide so his brother taught him to hug the rail.

Where are all those Nascar haters saying "They don't turn right" when you need 'em?

My horses turn right.

Didn't realize he was Cajun, but when I was watching it on TV I could not understand a single word he said...

Nope - you just stop turning left. :)

'Cause talking with a southern accent automatically makes a person stupid. Thanks to all the smart farkers for pointing that out. Again.

Was there really a need for the reporter to be on a horse? The guy was gonna get off eventually...

I got two loves in my life: big city livin' and a voodoo woman named Phyllis.

The morning of the Derby my wife and I did what we always do before one of these TV horse races, look over the list of jockeys to see how many are from around here. The next day the local paper didn't have a big picture of the horse, the pic was of the jocky. We produce more big time jockeys around here than probably anywhere in the world. Calvin is from the same town (Breaux Bridge) where quarterback Jake Delhomme and about 20 or so NFL guys are from. Not everyone around here is small, but we all go pro. And we all talk like that.

I watched that when it happened, I thought the dude was pretty cool. I was hoping he'd get the horse to smoke the tires or something.
