That was a very well written article- succinct, and not over encumbered by verbiage.
2007-05-02 07:32:37 AM
That article just reinforces most of the arguments that "conservatives" have against Gore, except the one about how fat he is.

Now Rocky Raccoon he fell back in his room
Only to find Gideon's bible
A Gideon checked out and he left it no doubt
To help with good Rocky's revival.

Replace one religious text with another. Nothing to see here.

They should have put out the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
2007-05-02 09:10:34 AM
I would rather have a bible to not-read
2007-05-02 09:11:06 AM
Where's the "I am your new God" pic?
2007-05-02 09:11:19 AM
If I owned a hotel, I'd put the book there. Maybe it would cause people to re-hang and re-use their towls, say don't change the bed sheets daily, and will keep from freezing the room with the air conditioner in the summer. Saving my hotel money and making me more :)
2007-05-02 09:13:53 AM
Does Al G. know about this?

What's that?

Thanks to Fark, he knows now!
2007-05-02 09:14:04 AM
Why can't they just put some choice skin mags in there? It would be easier than trying to fap to the 3 channels of free TV they give you...

/Just sayin'

They'll do anything to avoid washing the towels.

All hail the new Messiah!!!!!
2007-05-02 09:17:24 AM
You mean, they replaced the Bible with a book that contains useful information?

What a scandal!
2007-05-02 09:20:05 AM
"What the fark is a Gideon? Ever met one? No. Ever seen one? No. I spend all day in the hotel room. I saw the housekeeper come and go. I see the mini-bar guy come and go. I never see any farking Gideons. I'm gonna capture me a Gideon one of these days. What I'm gonna do is call up the front desk as say, 'Uh, I don't seem to have a Bible in my room.'"

Sammy Jenkins, you should try decaf and get over it.
2007-05-02 09:24:45 AM

This could be the start of something. Replace a rapidly aging, increasingly irrelevant book with another. They could do a book of the month thing... get people interested in various works of fiction and non-fiction.

The only time I watch Oprah is when I'm sitting in a hotel room waiting on that cheap ass coffee to brew.

Makes sense since his drivel is a religion.
2007-05-02 09:29:22 AM
Meh, I look under the mattress for the pron.

/thanks Bob and Tom for that weary traveler tip!

You make coffee at 4 in the afternoon? Ha...j/k...I don't really know when Oprah comes on...that was j-j-just a guess...

2007-05-02 09:30:04 AM
I don't see why we can't have Scientology books in the drawers instead of the bible. I thought we had freedom of brainwashing in this country.
2007-05-02 09:31:06 AM
Is this the same hotel that leaves the lights on for you?
2007-05-02 09:31:07 AM
Why not? Just another book of faith.

mmmerf: We're picking on the Gideons now?

Yea. Bastards and their free literature.

I hear if you catch one, they have to give you their pot of gold. Or maybe that's Lutherans.
2007-05-02 09:31:35 AM
You know, it is warmer today than it was yesterday. Think about it.

Take a black-light and you'll see plenty of pron "left-overs" all over the bed spread.

Thanks to CSI I take a sleeping bag to hotels. I can stand to wallow in my own filth (I am a bachelor, after all), but other peoples'?

Ick squared.
2007-05-02 09:34:52 AM
My favorite part was toward the middle where he gave equal time to the other scientists that do not agree with his "unbiased scientific finding" and where he said if you stay at those hotels you get 10,000 free carbon credits:)
2007-05-02 09:36:20 AM

What is it with hotels and books with apocalyptic endings?

I hope I didn't spoil either book for you.

Brings to mind Romans 1:24-26

"...they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen." Rom 1:35
