WiFi, BlueTooth, new cell/cordless phones, etc - all utilize the same, or close to the same radio frequencies that a microwave oven cooks potatoes with... just at a lower power level.

If this is really a problem, then why has no one started freaking out or having "symptoms" from 2.4Ghz wireless phones? They've been in the market place for quite some time.

big fact, below a certain power level microwaves lack the punch to do anything. What's the output on bluetooth? What small fraction of a watt?

This reminsd me of the BS about EM around high tension wires. Sure it's there, but the earth's EM field is orders of magnitude stronger. If the EM field from high tension wires was lethal, humans wouldn't be alive today since the Earth would've killed us all long ago.

Oh also microwave ovens work by striking water molecules primarily, that's why things with very low water content can be a biatch to microwave and can require specialized packaging eg popcorn

Everything lower than visible light is not ionizing radiation

i.e. does not cause genetic damage (cancer) like radioactive elements & UV.

If it does harm health, it's by some undiscovered mechanism.

Small green spikes at left: a WiFi access point located about six feet from the spectrum analyzer's antenna.

Large two spikes at right: 2.4 GHz RF leakage from a perfectly-ordinary microwave oven located two rooms away from the analyzer's antenna.

The difference? The microwave is leaking about 100,000 times as much RF energy as your WiFi access point is emitting in normal operation.

That would be ozone, from the interaction of electricity with the air (you get the same near lightning strikes).

Electricity != RF radiation

Well, water or liquid of some sort, but they excite almost anything in the oven. It's a testament to American education that my own brother argued to me that a microwave oven cannot heat something without water in it. It took a three minute cook time of an empty ceramic coffee cup to prove him wrong.

He's a lawyer.

We need to kick up the science and math in the US a notch, I think.

Oh man, the stupid is so powerful in this article, I think it is literally dangerous to read it. I must have gotten a years fark-equivalent exposure in that one reading.
