I would agree. Or disagree. If I had any idea what you were saying.

I guess the right-wing lunatic meeting went late last night. This particular talking point is only just now starting to make the rounds.

For doing her job? I had no idea the Republicans made that illegal, but not surprised.

I am fair. And stop calling me Shirl...

BizarreRecords: For doing her job?

I wasn't aware her job was to engage Syria in diplomacy when the President specifically asked her not to. I've been laboring under the delusion that she's the Speaker of the House.

They'd never get Pelosi to sit in the cup--she'd scratch their eyes out first.

I think I've identified the idiot submitting all the trolling right-wing headlines to TF.

Good, do it. The little douchebags around here that support the GOP have literally no interest in justice other than "oh, one of yours equals one of mine". So let's go with that and have her arrested. The little maggots around here have worn me down to the point where I don't even f*cking care anymore.

MyNameIsNotMervGriffin: I've been laboring under the delusion that she's the Speaker of the House.

Funny. I've been laboring under the delusion that there was a separation of powers in this country. George isn't the boss of Congress.

Fine by me. If they can get a conviction, hang her high.

Specifically asked not to? I hadn't heard that.

I, the all-seeing Master of Time, Space and Dimension, hereby proclaim my predictions for this thread:

1. Many posters will complain that someone "sneaked in" a WSJ headline.

2. TGoT will get blamed for all this, whether he posted this or not.

3. At least two dozen people will sneer about the article being from WSJ without making any attempt to RTFA.

4. At least two dozen other people will say they're glad Pelosi went even if it WAS illegal because Bush has farked up the entire Middle East.

5. Several people will complain about Fark getting all right-wing.

6. They will also accuse WSJ of paying Drew or unnamed others to post and/or greenlight WSJ articles.

7. Someone else will count the number of left-leaning headlines in rebuttal.

8. A few calm, rational voices of reason will be totally ignored.

9. I'll eat too much popcorn and drink too much beer enjoying it all.

If the presidential administration weren't a bunch of incompetent pigfarkers, others wouldn't have to be doing their jobs.

I love the fact that Pelosi, a supporter of gay marriage and women's rights, went to Saudi Arabia and heaped praise on the leadership there - where they stone homosexuals to death and women aren't allowed to drive, hold office, etc..

Hypocrisy knows no party lines.

2007-04-06 1:25:55 PM
Let's haul her in front of a Grand Jury and ask her under oath what she said and to whom she said it.

Only then can we get to the bottom of this.

MyNameIsNotMervGriffin: 5. Several people will complain about Fark getting all right-wing.

We have a winnar for No. 5!

Yes, she should have stayed here because we all know that Bush's foreign policy & diplomacy has done wonders for us over the years.

Also at being interesting, but I think you and your non-stop posting to this thread already knew that.

After they get Ramsay Clark, I'll worry about Nancy Pelosi.

2007-04-06 1:29:16 PM
As a recovering Republican let me say that we ARE NOT AT WAR WITH SYRIA.

Any American citizen has the right to meet with Syrian officials and discus peace in broad terms. Religious leaders do shiat like this all the damn time. So long as she didn't make specific promises or deals.

Now if we were at war with Syria then it MIGHT be a crime. Jane Fonda and her visit to North Vietnam would be an example of that. That may be treason.

It would be clearer if she gave aid or comfort to a nation we are at war with or did business with an enemy state. During WW2 our current Presidents grandfather had business dealings with the Nazis. That is clearly and unquestionably an outright act of treason.

But Jimmy Carter, Nancy Pelosi or George HW Bush all have the right as US citizens to visit foreign nations and discuss peace in broad terms.

Pelsi. Caught talking in Syria. Is she illegal or not. WSJ Says yes. Republicans Looking for Logan Act -OR- "hello, I am house speaker to salute and had a face lift"

Peaceful resolution of British sailors in Iran.

Pan-Arab meeting declares desire for peace with Israel.

Olmert suggests the time is right for peace with the Arab world.

Pelosi starts dialogue with Syria. Syrians seem receptive to dialogue.

Hard week for the neocons. All their shrieking and noise about "appeasement" and how it's time to start shooting? Just noise that everyone finds easy to ignore, regardless of a "b-b-b-but Scooter Libby...!" sputtering.

(buck up, little neocon. maybe you'll get to watch your war on Fox News next month.)

They'd be opening a huge can of worms if they tried to pin this on her as a crime. Fact finding vs. influence peddling? Good luck drawing the distinction.

Just our luck, we have a renegade dumbass Submitter that flunked civics posting headlines. Let me guess, Alberto Gonzalez came up with this bizarre theory...

Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

Feh. If she's so great why didn't she do something about global warming while she was at it?

But I guess you're right. The ONLY REASON Iran let the hostages go is because Pelosi went to Syria.

Dude, you should have put a warning on that. Way too funny. It's been a long time since I actually busted out laughing at a post.

As far as Nancy's trip. If Carter says it's a good idea and it has anything to do with the Middle East then you should do the EXACT opposite thing

No. They're not related and I don't think I even hinted at the suggestion that they are. WHat ARE you babbling about, child?

Yeah! Because the 35 years of peace and normalized relations between Israel and Egypt is......

(oh. what was your point?)

2007-04-06 1:37:45 PM
Would this not be the same as governors who visit and do business with Castro, even though Bush doesn't want them to, because their state's economies depend on it?

I don't know, just wondering.

If it's illegal, fine, then arrest her, but also be sure to arrest the Repubs that went over there a few days before because they would be equally as guilty.

OK I've read the whole thread now - was distracted by a sandwich.

In conclusion - Oh my farking god you're a weapons grad idiot. If stupid were people you would be China.
