(Yahoo)   Ariana Huffington whines that the media is overreporting how much money Hillary's campaign has raised so far. Also says the media doubled the amount of silverware missing from the White House   (news.yahoo.com) divider line

I decided to start contributing to Obama yesterday. Not much, but honestly we need someone who isn't a Clinton/Bush to start leading this country. Obama is the only real contender in the primary and the fark if I will ever vote for a republican again.

Mr. Anon

Obama is the only real contender

Sorry, no one with the middle name "Hussein" is going to be elected president any time soon.

I would say she is quite accurately pointing out how much of the mainstream media takes the "spin" and inaccurately reports it as fact because they are simply too lazy to check or consider the information they receive from sources in context.

Ronald Reagan's communications people knew this salient point quite well. They knew that if they provided the white house and political correspondents lots of well written and sourced stories, most of them would accept them as gospel and pretty much use them as the underlying "source" to write articles on the same topic. The journalists did so simply because it was the easier route than actually doing the research and fact checking required to actually do their job. I can't fault the Reagan administration, or in this instance the Clinton campaign team, but let's not let a very valid critical look at how the media is failing us pass us by simply because someone doesn't like the tone or political leanings of the person doing so.

Total amount that Hillary's campaign added to their coffers this quarter: $36 million.

Total amount that Hillary's campaign *raised* this quarter (not including money she transferred from her Senate campaign): $25 million.

Total amount that Hillary can use in the primary vs. the general: Unknown.

That wasn't so difficult, was it? Both of the first two numbers are quite impressive regardless of the spin, but there's no need to play games with them--just present the numbers as they actually are.

/NOT a Hillary fan
//Liking Bill Richardson ($6 million *raised*, no idea how much can be used in the primary)

Arianna has a well known anti-Hillary bias.

Arianna is still angry she lost the election.

Hillary *thinks* she's raised $26 million, but just wait until she tries to cash my cheque for $25 million.

The headline says she was whining and I dislike Ariana for no particular reason, therefore she was whining and had no salient points.

Is it odd that I think Arianna Huffington is totally fappable ?
