The food kills me every time I go there.

End up doing prawns and Kingfisher every night!

When your dishes are made from ghee and coconut milk they are going to be packed full of fats.

Indians don't get that special kind of Yankee fat...

...probably the moderation and physical activity.

pornmonger: probably the moderation and physical activity.

And starvation.

You know when Hitler ate Indian food he made sure it was hot and fresh. By hot I mean a Jew, and by fresh I mean burned in an oven.

I am pleased to be saying that this article shall endeavor to be completely full of shiat.

But it's a hell of a lot tastier than a Big Mac. So, if you're going to eat something that will "get you", it may as well be something really good.

QFT.

Same goes for Hawaiian food too, what with the coconut milk and such. Well, that and the Spam.

I was thinking more of the poverty and starvation. Great way to keep fit.

To be pedantic (correct me if i'm wrong), just saying "Indian" food is like saying "European" food or just "food".

North Indian
[meat, wheat/roti]

!=

South Indian
[rice, dosa]

!=

East Indian
[burmese/vietnamese]

and many-many subdivisions within.

Based solely on trans-fatty acid content, with a difference of 5%. EVERYBODY PANIC!

You'll get my rogan josh when you pry it from my cold, dead, diabetic hands.

2007-03-12 7:32:06 PM
Most of the "ghee" they use isn't clarified butter, it's hydrogenated palm oil.

2007-03-12 7:33:00 PM
I'd take a good burger and good fries over most indian food. Of course, if you take the bottom of the barrel like a big mac and compare it too good indian food it will lose out.

2007-03-12 7:33:28 PM

European cuisine is vastly more varied and broad than Indian cuisine. Hell, just the big western european countries (Spain, Italy, France, England, Germany) are far more diverse combined than Indian food.

Nope, no chance that diverse Indian food is worse for you than imperial American food.

While I agree with you on the ghee, coconut milk isn't all that bad for you. True, it is high in saturated fat, but it's easily digested and cultures that use it tend to have low instances of heart disease.

PUN ALERT!

Q: What is the difference between a sycophant and an Indian cook?

A: One curries favor, the other favors curry!

curry burns ass

2007-03-12 7:42:01 PM
Mmmm curry.

I ate a bag of those lays curry chips the other night after a good drinking binge. Yeah now i cannot stand the smell of those chips. Plus the bright yellow puke stained my carpet :(

Panaeng duck curry or a firey green curry from thailand is my favorite!

Great, now my jonesing for Indian food is back with a passion. I think I'll be heading to Mayuri in Irving tomorrow.

It all depends what I'm in the mood for. Good for you, bad for you, whatever.

curry burns ass

I've never understood this. I make it a few times a month. Never had any problems. Many of the spices in Indian food are known for calming the digestion.

I'd take a good burger and good fries over most indian food.

And, though I love a good burger, Indian food from a good joint will win out every time for me, give my druthers. I feel like a moran for not discovering Indian food until my 30's. (It's too bad it costs about twice as much as Chinese grub though.)

You people who spend 3 days crapping fire, what kind of torture chambers do you order at? Ya know, you can specify how spicy you want a dish to be. Indian food is still very tasty without the heat. That's actually how I order it.

If you have dairy issues though, watch out, they have lots of creamy/yogurt sauces...

2007-03-12 7:45:37 PM
Fark that. I love Indian food! Mmmmmmmm...

The fat stinky Indian guy I sat next on a plane should read this. My right shoulder smelled like sweat and curry until I could take a shower.
