(Some Guy)   Jesus Christ's tomb was discovered clear back in 1980, but somehow the archeologists and other pros involved never knew whose it was until James Cameron showed up   (townhall.com) divider line

Oy, gevalt, not this shiat again....

And you know, I'm still not sure why James Cameron is involved in this at all...

Bigotry like this likes to surface every Easter.

Nothing new.

I Corinthians 15.3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles

Bevets: but some have fallen asleep

Seems to be a problem in the bible. They should have had Starbucks back then; it would have helped.

If his body's still in there, a lot of people are gonna have some questions...

Bloody William: If his body's still in there, a lot of people are gonna have some questions...

It's an ossuary, which would only contain bones, rather than a 'full body', as it were.

And yeah, I consider it to be tasteless and sensationalistic.

2007-03-01 2:39:29 PM
It couldn't possibly be him because some people's interpretation of book that's been created and altered over the centuries says it couldn't be.

Dangit, and I had my "Summon Bevets" card primed. Course it's not funny after he actually shows up.

2007-03-01 3:49:24 PM
What? Like this tomb was going to make a documentary about itself?

2007-03-01 3:49:35 PM
I'd complain about the repeat- but the fact that it showed up 3 days after the last one makes it at least passably amusing. :P

2007-03-01 3:49:58 PM
Why is James Cameron involved? Because if you have ever heard him speak, you'd know he's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

//He ripped off the idea for the Terminator, to boot.

2007-03-01 3:50:08 PM
Hollywood sensationalist ignores scientific and historical experts to sell film and make money. Nothing new or original here, move along, move along.

I am surprised when he did the Titanic film he actually had the ship sink.

2007-03-01 3:51:02 PM
This harkens back to the other thing that was discovered in 1980: Christians will promote your product for you when they feel threatened.

Bevets: I Corinthians 15

Great. Nothing like taking 80% of your religion's doctrine from a guy who never met Jesus, and whose writings bear almost no relation to anything Jesus is ever recorded as saying.

Della, get a pen! I've got some things to say to the Corinthians, too. "1: Jesus wants you to live more like him and talk less about him. 2: ..."

The article raises a good point, AGAIN. Why is it acceptable to bash/question Christianity, but you do that to Islam, etc. and "that's a stabbing (or beheading)"?!?!

Geraldo was their 1st choice to open tomb.

Big Deal, when I was in a cemetary in Mexico City I came across a whole bunch of tombstones that read Jesus. I know it was him cuz nearby their was one named Mary who had a son named Jesus. I should have filmed it. I'd be rich.

2007-03-01 3:56:57 PM
Any pictures of said tomb yet? That might help.

Because in the US, Christians can legislate you to death.

LOL. All of Christianity is based on the "fact" (notice the quotes people) that Jesus' rose from the dead. No body.

As for a tomb, of course it's empty. DNA? Are you serious? Those tombs, catacombs, etc were used and re-used over many years.

As for Jesus' tomb, it was bought buy a rich guy who probably had *a lot* of other family members in there.

To: Dillenger 69,

What about the significant evidence that does not contradict? Doesn't it scare you that science offers no explanation for the origin of life. Does it bother you that Dawkin's scientific explanation is that it started in another Galaxy by something we don't understand (God) and then came here. But that he really doesn't know! Is that what you want to base your eternity on? Wow!?

I grew up in a prostant family who went to church every sunday. My dad is a pentecostal(no, not the snake church, but the dancing church) minister but he never once pressed the religion on me or my siblings. I am now agnostic but from what I understand, christianity is a religion of love, peace and "show the other cheek" while islam is about...dont believe us fine you are an infidel and you should DIE!

/Religion should be banned.
//Yes, they are all bullshiat.
///Yeah, Im not buying the whole Moses talked to a Burning bush oh wait...maybe he did? I dunno Im a skeptic.

Because up until a few hundred years ago, Christianity had a monopoly on beheading.
