How does, "President Bush should read the intelligence carefully before giving another misleading speech about progress in the war on terrorism." equate to "Bush is helping the terrorists" exactly?

I thought you had to have some basic skills in reading comprehension to be a writer for the WSJ.

Opinion Journal is, for all intensive purposes, a completely separate entity than the WSJ editorial division.

2007-02-22 3:41:50 PM
Bush let bin Laden go, and then took our their enemy Saddam, and then gave them Iraq for a playground, and helped recruit terrorists all over the world.

If he was INTENDING to help al Qaeda he could hardly have done a better job.

And I AM questioning his patriotism, his intelligence, and his sanity.

Mr. Anon

Why is Pelosi evil?

I note with much interest that you didn't ask the same question about Mr. Cheney.

Ms. Pelosi is evil for the same reasons Mr. Cheney is evil. They both kowtow to special interests. They're both after their own ends to gain political power, regardless of what it does to the country in the long term.

In other words, they're both professional, inside-the-beltway politicos both blinded and driven by their personal ideologies and desire for power.

Just because someone is a "Liberal" or "Democrat" doesn't make them immune from being evil. It's not a purely Republican trait, contrary to what the moveon.org crowd thinks.

You know, when one side says, almost verbatim, "If that party wins, the terrorists will hit us again/win", and the other says, "The actions that the President has taken have lead to more terrorist activity, as shown by and this and this ," calling them the same is monstrously asinine.

The difference is that the Cheney talk always suggests that the Democrats secretly love terrorists. The Dems never go there. Losers.

The Vice President is just pointing out the obvious. The democratic plan and terrorist plan for Iraq are the same.

If the democratic plan is enacted the terrorists will claim a major victory and will have all the arms and power to turn Iraq into a haven for every terrorist in the world.

Pulling out of Iraq will cost more lives, Iraqi and American, than it will save. Democrats need to pull their heads out of their asses and see that the terrorists need to be killed in Iraq, not handed a victory.

The Vice President didn't call out Pelosi on her patriotism, but I do. Terrorists hate America, if you side with the terrorists, what does that make you??

Pelosi is like Princess Leia. Sure she was hot when young, and helped to lead a rebellion, but she couldn't run an empire. She's obviously underqualified and therefore a terrorist sympathiser.

How'd I do?

Please read my original post a little more carefully. There's that little part about Dick Cheney that you seem to have overlooked.

My opinions are hardly welcome on Free Republic anymore. Funny that they used to be, but it isn't my positions that have changed with the wind.

My opinions were never welcome on Democratic Underground, however.

That makes her no more or less evil than every single person in Washington politics.

Cheney:

1. Lied us into a pointless war, and continues to lie us into an ongoing and equally pointless occupation which is costing thousands upon thousands of lives,

2. Is helping his buddies profit obscenely from said war and occupation,

3. Uses his power and influence to crush those who try to oppose his efforts, even at the expense of national security interests.

I could go on, but think I will let you respond first. Your turn.

You're absolutely right.
I hereby apologize for anytime that I have stated that sending our troops to Iraq was a mistake and thereby emboldening the terrorists and causing our troops to lose. I love my country and therefore will follow my Republican leaders unquestioningly from now on.

Thank you, mild7, for opening my eyes to the horrors I have attempted to unleash upon my fellow man.

Right.

And I am asking you to provide specific examples of things pelosi has done that make her more evil than your garden variety washington politician.

Well, since the vast majority of 'insurgents' in Iraq are Iraqi's, and not foreign terrorists, I would say they are just defending their country against an invasion of their land and way of life, and have every right to do so.

Remember, if an Iraqi defends against an invasion, it's terrorism!

When an American does the same, it's "Red Dawn" and uber patriotic!

/No, I don't like seeing American troops killed. I also don't like seeing 5 year olds killed, but if you play in traffic ...
