Kick Ass! That rocks. Now if only I wasn't broke :(
2001-07-03 08:46:19 AM
I went to order a T-Shirt - $15 is good, but $20 shipping to get to the UK!

Cafepress (whatever) are taking the piss - I don't need it personally worn over here by a pert temple maiden flying on concorde, just post the farker!

2001-07-03 08:58:46 AM
Yeah, Cafepress is insane with their shipping costs. They operate in an international milieu (i.e. the net) yet they insult every non-American with shipping costs that make no sense. I'm sorry, but no farking way does it cost US $20 to ship a T-Shirt to the U.K.

Putting that aside, I think I'd like to ask what Fark has against France. I'm not exactly a fan of the country that got its sorry ass saved by the Allies in WW-II and then decided it didn't need NATO, but why continually rag on it?
2001-07-03 09:02:00 AM
I'm not funding Cafepress either - I'd like a t-shirt posted, but if that's not an option I won't bother. To cost more than the item in shipping is ludicrois.

France Surrenders!!! Yes! And to be able to actually wear a shirt proclaiming it!!! WAHOOOOOO-OOOOOO!!! :-)

Is it real . . . can you actually order such an obnoxious article of clothing . . .
but then again the folks down here in the south wouldn't get to excited seeing as how there aren't many frogs down here to get all worked up . . .
2001-07-03 09:16:02 AM
I am sorry that the shiping costs so much :-(. I the store owner am geting charged up the rear for each one too. If only there was some place better. for those who don't want everyone to know there a FARKer we do sell a coffie mug

To international FARKers,
If you want any of the products but don't want to pay high shipping costs, e-mail me:
and I'll see what I can do.

Cyberjoek is in charge of these shirts btw, Fark still gets money though.

As for the France thing, I got my healthy attitude from France from all the guys in England I hung out with for a year. They read Fark, perhaps they can explain. Or not, grin
2001-07-03 09:25:34 AM
One of these days I'm going to actaully buy a Fark shirt. Good thing I live in the US.
2001-07-03 09:39:48 AM
Drew, come over, and we'll alternate rounds each, and I'm sure that we will all be quite happy to enlighten you. However, just the one internet is perhaps not big enough for a simple text version.
2001-07-03 09:40:39 AM
The $20 is for "Global Express Mail" (in the store owners area)

netcafe is a dot bomb
2001-07-03 09:52:53 AM

2001-07-03 09:56:48 AM
Sucks International shipping is so high.

Just bought my shirt.

Nice Work Cyberjoek

Thank you Ranma_X for the complement!
because of the high shipping costs for the international readers I am considering doing a self ship. First I need to know intrest. If I got the shirts/cups whatever and shiped them to you for a lower shipping cost would you be interested? e-mail me cyberjoe[nospam-﹫-backwards]keojrebyc*com if you are!

Life just got sooo much better. I can't wait to visit Paris, Montreal and the French Connection down at the Mall.
2001-07-03 11:31:13 AM
Furthermore, it's obvious why Euro's pay so much for shipping. IT'S THE PENALTY YOU PAY FOR LIVING SO CLOSE TO FRANCE!
2001-07-03 11:44:41 AM
Those products are farking hilarious. I wish I had $19 to throw on a shirt.
2001-07-03 11:46:58 AM
If you don't want to spend that much on a shirt get a mouse pad, then you will always remeber where France Surrenders!
2001-07-03 01:27:37 PM
Drew, would it have killed ya to get some babydoll shirts made?? I can't wear men's shirts. They're like pup tents on me. What's a francophobic to do...
2001-07-03 01:58:46 PM
They should be up now spike, and I cyberjoek am doing this offer.
2001-07-03 02:00:13 PM
Nice work Cyberjoek! btw, I posted in the other T-Shirt thread about a higher resolution image you might like to use.
2001-07-03 02:39:53 PM
Spike, there was a babydoll shirt up there....

Trying to decide between a large and X-large
2001-07-03 05:56:26 PM
why won't cafepress make black shirts? or even dark colors? why does it have to be white? i hate white shirts. i mean, i'm not a goth or nothin', but c'mon. white?

(and don't give me that they have an off-white sweatshirt crap.)
2001-07-03 06:36:14 PM
Timothy: As I remember it, the "France surrenders" thing germinated in a floating commentary here on the rude manner in which French people treat American people.
2001-07-03 06:47:29 PM
They can't offer t-shirts in other colors because of the way they're printed.

Store owners have been nagging CafePress about this since day one. :(
2001-07-03 07:00:32 PM
I purchased one of the first Fark T-Shirts (too bad they weren't numbered for authenticity). It was the first garment I ever had in that awful off-white shade that simply screams "sloppy-casual" or "can't be bothered to buy real clothes".

However, I wear it with pride. Indoors, anyway. With the blinds drawn.

Happy July 4th to the American Farkers

I ordered mine and guess what................................................................ ..........................................................do I have to say it?................................................................. .........................................................France Surrendered!
2001-07-03 07:06:45 PM
kudos on the motivation for getting this done. it was like 2 days between seed and germination for this idea.
2001-07-03 08:01:55 PM
thanks, rogue. of course you know what the translation is for that?

Unfortunately, we cannot be bothered to print a good quality product on a dark background. We certainly would love to offer colors other than white and ash grey, and will claim to search for a means to do so while maintaining superior quality. Of course, many t-shirts are produced nationwide on darker colors, but it would require that we actually work. As we got into this internet thing to make a quick buck with little to no effort, we decided against it.
2001-07-03 08:21:25 PM
heh, I read the same thing. I get the impression that each item is printed on an on-order basis, so they're probably using the same t-shirt transfer paper you can buy at K-Mart.
2001-07-03 09:23:33 PM
I want an "I love boobies" T-shirt . .

. . with a nice pastoral scene of a loving family of boobies . . of course.
2001-07-03 10:06:23 PM
Got off the phone with Cafepress's Customer Service and they said the reason that prices to EU countries are so high is that they hire out the printing to someplace in the EU to meet the requirements of the EU.
2001-07-03 10:18:34 PM

Would those be red-footed or blue-footed....just wondering?
2001-07-03 11:33:40 PM
I'm not a racist. I love 'em all.
