(Yahoo)   Having plunged to the low 30s, Bush's approval rating now skyrockets to 41 percent. Well, no one's saying "skyrocket," but "plunged" is still okay   (news.yahoo.com) divider line

TPTB aren't ready to throw him out yet. He may still get them another incredibly profitable war against Iran. It's a gamble though because the rest of the world is about to hit us where it hurts the most: the US dollar.

Sweet Zombie Jesus I cannot for the life of me figure out how 4 in 10 people are still stupid enough to support this asshat in anything he does.

The word 'skyrocket' is hardly applicable since it's still not a very good approval rating.

I'm not very good at filling prescriptions- usually I only get 31% of them correct. But the past week, they've skyrocketed to 40%!

NuttierThanEver: Sweet Zombie Jesus I cannot for the life of me figure out how 4 in 10 people are still stupid enough to support this asshat in anything he does.

Well, have you seen the people who post in support of him on here? I mean, we're not talking rocket scientists, dude.

Our full month average for January, based upon national telephone interviews with 14,500 American adults, found the President's Approval Rating at 41%, matching his average for the last eleven months.

and: While the President's numbers are stagnant...

You can't compare one poll's results to another's, submitter. He's in the low 30s in other polls, but as this article notes, his numbers have been stagnant in this poll. You want them to say those numbers are skyrocketing to the same place they've been for the last year?

Pocket Ninja: Well, have you seen the people who post in support of him on here? I mean, we're not talking rocket scientists, dude.

That is an excellent point. Most of those folks are so diluted that I can't help but think they're being paid to post the nonsense they do.

I think we'd all be deluded to believe that every major public interest didn't have people on the payroll to do just that.

Check the numbers here. They're all over the place, but many polls still have him in the 30s.

Not that it matters. Polling will be suspended, along with the Constitution, in March 2008 after we begin the Glorious Persia De-Islamafication War.

Rassmusen is almost always an outlier on Bush's approval (on the high side). It likely has to do with his use of machine-based polling. Poli-sci people are still trying to figure out what causal factors may be at work with such polls and whether it is correct and everyone else is wrong or if his methodology is causing additional error.

Is the 4 in 10 the rich folk? I find that hard to believe in any case. I think most people are still blind to the huge foreclosures that are going on for home owners who cannot pay their mortgage.

Believe me, it's going to get worse.

I feel so diluted. I was glad to see Bush pick up a couple of Grammys.

Rasmussen is the high number. What this says is that Bush's approval is AT MOST %41. More likely it's somewhere around 35-37.

Probably should've thought of that before taking on adjustable mortgages, but that's for another discussion.

So why is it that a grade or score based upon any other evaluation would place that person in a FAILING bracket. If I am not mistaken they don't let you through in higher education with results like that. (and your paying for it) So why in the frkk is it acceptable for our president?

During January 2007, just 32.1% of American adults considered themselves Republicans.

Republicans? Those aren't Republicans, there are no more Republicans. They have been replaced by wackjobs kneeling to his holiness who speaks to Jebus.

Dear Jebus,
Please make my gubment real big and spendy
and help me replace that Constitution piece of paper thingy with the Bible.

As I recall, anything below 60% is considered a failing grade. The one thing that really needs to be focused on isn't what the pools are saying, it is what the voters clearly said last November.

With Republicans distancing themselves from this administration and the slow but sure roasting the Democratically controlled congress is going to give this administration over the next two years, I would be surprised if there is a single one of these buffoons left in the public spotlight when November 2008 comes around.

I came in here to post something snarky and clever that derides both major US political parties. Then I forgot what that was, so I'm failing miserably. So, since I "got nuthin'",

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
gonna grab some afternoon delight.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day.
And you know the night is always gonna be there any way.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
looking forward to a little afternoon delight.
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling
a little afternoon delight.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Please be waiting for me baby when I come around.
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

In a recent poll I took, Bush's approval has dwindled to -14%, which means that not only were all 100 people I polled against him, but 14 people who overheard what I was doing came up to me and said, "Damn, that guy sucks."

Afterwards, we all went to Starbucks and had a nice latte.

Then, I beat a Bush Bobblehead doll to death with a shoe.

/all in a days work.

When you SPs stop complaining and give up we can have victory in the "culture war" and that will lead to victory in the war against the evildoers in Arabia. Until then there can be no peace.

In other news, 79% of Republicans approve of giant government, burgeoning entitlement programs, big brother snooping, and our government paying terrorists to torture people, even though we've tracked that money and found that we are effectively funding a good part of the war against ourselves in Iraq.

I'm not really buying this particular poll though, of the 7 that I can see in the last week, this one is 5 points higher than any of the other 6, which have a combined range of 5%... it seems to be a bit of an outlier, though I could probably believe that 79% number... most of the registered republicans I've met lately have been fanatics... the moderates have all defected and gone independent, dropping both of the wacky extremes.

2007-02-12 2:18:26 PM

Probably should've thought of that before taking on adjustable mortgages, but that's for another discussion.

Fixed over here. But I'm seeing 4 condos going to foreclosure shortly because they cannot pay their mortgage. Not even condo fee for that matter.

Money is really tight for folks now. People complain about gas going up 10 cents and at the same time there is a clerk in the supermarket jacking bread up a dollar or two.
