Keep telling it to the dead people, moron!

With spin like that, how can we NOT vote him into office in 2008??

/Spin Doctors surrender

2006-11-17 4:47:47 PM
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. In a political organization you have lots of people working for you, and it's hard to control every action.

It's completely plausible that a 19 year-old intern thought he could get one simply by name-dropping a Senator.

Even if it is true, and John Edwards shopped at WalMart after saying they're unethical, I still don't see a big hypocrisy. It's not like he was calling for a boycott of the store, and then shopped there.

2006-11-17 6:09:57 PM
So Edwards asks his intern to try and find a PS3 for his son and one of those places of inquiry turns out to be Walmart.

Oooooo scandalous!

Who the fark cares?

2006-11-17 6:10:04 PM
Really? Greenlight?

Huh. Ok.

2006-11-17 6:11:10 PM
elchip: That article is from the Opinion Journal? Reads like a free republic thread.

So then, it's the average Opinion Journal piece?

2006-11-17 6:11:22 PM
Did the WSJ really expect him to camp out with the unwashed nerds for 4 nights?

2006-11-17 6:11:54 PM
this is the best slander that Rove can come up with? I expect drudge to run the siren for a week while Karl sodomizes nigerian infants.

2006-11-17 6:12:19 PM
Not cool considering his state has loads of poorly-treated, undocumented workers.

2006-11-17 6:12:25 PM
Free Republic + literacy - overt racism = WSJ Opinion Journal.

2006-11-17 6:13:04 PM
unfortunately the Opinion Journal has a policy of not having an Opinion on the criminal deeds or sleazy behavior of Republicans so this is the best they can do.

2006-11-17 6:13:07 PM
I actually would have voted for Edwards/??? but if you think that someone or something is unethical and yet still give it monetary support by say...in this case spending money there, that is fairly hypocritical. Perhaps he did not tell the intern where to go though. Question? How ethical is it to send interns to buy your families PS3?

2006-11-17 6:13:38 PM
Heh!

Y'all still pissed off about your Golden Boy (at least a couple of years ago Golden Boy) showing his true colors?

2006-11-17 6:13:50 PM
Edwards is really one stupid fark.
He couldn't even win his own state and yet still plans
on running for president.
Where do these idiots keep coming from???

2006-11-17 6:14:06 PM
The only thing stupid here is his stance on walmart (low prices, business succes = EVIL!!!) being a rich important guy if his kid wants such and such, sure get it for them whatever.

That he is vocal about his stupid anti walmart stance and on the other hand trying to get ahead there isn't massive corruption, it just makes him look like a completely insincere buffoon.

Almost every other politician on either side would be too if you knew enough about them. Just compare the number of politicians who oppose school vouchers with the number who send their kids to and/or went to exclusive private schools, for example.

2006-11-17 6:15:15 PM
One of these days, we'll see a headline like "Candidate decides against buying PS3, will get son a computer instead."

Just not from John Edwards.

2006-11-17 6:15:15 PM
so some kid uses edward's name to try and get a ps3, and this is what the broo ha ha ha is all about.

where's that attempting to give a damn pic ...

Yeah, no kidding.

Look - one of his volunteers was trying to suck up, hard core. This has nothing to do with him. It has nothing to do with "child labor".

Stop trying to spin shiat out of nothing.

Yeah if he was a republican a lobbyist would have given him 5 of them as a gift for passing his legislation

"Y'all still pissed off about your Golden Boy (at least a couple of years ago Golden Boy) showing his true colors?"

What the hell are you talking about? you've been so reasonable the last six months or so with nothing but bad news coming out of the GOP camp. So, what did the guy do - wished he had a playstation? This is no less ridiculous - wait - this is way more ridiculous than giving Rush a hard time for having viagra in his suitcase.

Do they get vouchers? Oh, they pay for it themselves? I see. Interesting.

2006-11-17 6:19:13 PM
well I think I'm done on fark for a few days, I really don't need to read about PS3's 18 more times. I'll come back when the name reverts from www.ps3.fark.ps3world.ps3ps3ps3.com to www.fark.com again

Hobodeluxe: Yeah if he was a republican a lobbyist would have given him 5 of them as a gift for passing his legislation

But he's not. He's the former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate and he's an elitist asshole.

Care to try another deflection?

I'm gonna call the police if John Kerry puts his hands on my Wii.

How about some more? I know y'all can do it!

Stop trying to spin shiat out of nothing.

That's what they do when they have turned their backs on all their conservative principles and don't even know what their ideology is anymore. They mudsling.

2006-11-17 6:23:24 PM
(wal-mart + politics) + fark = guaranteed trolling

2006-11-17 6:25:41 PM
This is no less ridiculous - wait - this is way more ridiculous than giving Rush a hard time for having viagra in his suitcase.

Why, were the PS3s hot goods?

Rush had just plea bargained his way out of a conviction for prescription drug abuse. And the Viagra prescription was, as usual, in somebody else's name.

Nice try, though.

2006-11-17 6:26:48 PM
Gosh. It's like Edwards tried to rape pages or something.

2006-11-17 6:27:36 PM
What's sad is this will be John Edward's "Big scandal", like Clinton's bj. Ooooh, ahhhh. Meanwhile their big scandals involve cybersex with teenage boys.

Even so, I can think of the short one liners they will come up with in their campaigns against him:

"He's too good fer us, he's too good for our votes"

"What's your plan? Walmart hater guy"

"Don't cut and run, like Walmart hater guy"

"He voted for walmart before voting against it lolol"

2006-11-17 6:27:56 PM
B-b-b-b-but Edwards got a PS3!!

"How about some more? I know y'all can do it!"

More what?

I'm personally outraged about the former candidate for vice president trying to get one of those playstations -really. I hope someone stops him. He should be stopped. He should be removed from office. Oh, wait. Well, they shouldn't let him run again. What if he gets his hands on one? Then what?

" Later that night, Sen. Edwards reportedly re-told a homespun story to participants of a United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union-sponsored call about how his son had chided a fellow student for purchasing shoes at Wal-Mart."

Nice to see he teaches his son to make fun of the clothes of poorer kids at school. Any kid who is shopping for shoes at walmart does so because that's what his parents can afford. I'm sure that kid with the Walmart shoes appreciated the chiding from the rich senator's son.

2006-11-17 6:29:22 PM
Dancin_In_Anson: Care to try another deflection?

No need to deflect since there's nothing to this story. Just simple right wing faux news drummed up so you dittoheads would have something to nod your heads in unison about.

I just read an article in "Vanity Fair" starring Karl Rove. The author of the story breakfasted with Mr. Rove, at his well appointed home, on deer sausage that Mr. Rove's son harvested and French Pressed Coffee. He went on to describe the home and its noticable elitists feel. Funny.

Over and over and over farkers sadly prove their complete inability to think in anything other than a binary fashion.

It's like there's a physical farking switch in their brains with 'good' on one side and 'bad' on the other and if X = good then not X = bad without fail.

Sure tons of republicans are hypocrites, crooks, jackasses, jerks and otherwise. Tons of East Timorese and Antiguans and Eskimos and Alabamans and Surgeons and Engineers are too... none of these statements have any logical bearing on the question of whether X democrat did something stupid or wrong.

I can't even begin to imagine the thought processes in your heads... what in the farking fark of farker fark's sake does Karl Rove or Abraham Jackoff or the buttsecksing republican congressman have to do with Edwards silly actions in this case?

Gah... you people are scary.

"I'm sure that kid with the Walmart shoes appreciated the chiding from the rich senator's son."

The number of shoes on the children's feet of your preferred candidates is = ZERO. They think shopping at wal-mart is fantastic.... as long as they don't have to go.

Hugh Hewitt, a noted right-wing radio show host, was trying to throw Joe Biden under the bus yesterday for a comment he made regarding the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game tomorrow. Mr. Biden was asked who he was cheering for, he made some remarks and finished by saying, "I never cheer for Mid-West Sports Teams." Of course, that means Mr. Biden hates the Mid-West and their values and this is the type of comment that should disqualify him from politics. He just sounded honest to me. Maybe Mr. Hewitt had a point afterall.

Who TF cares?

I find these shocking allegations that a important political figure may in fact have a higher than average net worth tremendously relevant to the case of a totally different person shopping at a store he disses publicly.

He's a rich trial lawyer. He should just buy one on ebay and then sue the seller afterwards. "yer honor, the ad states specifically this is a complete system and I quote the ad: "Exactly the same as you'd get at a name brand electronics store". So where is the anti-theft device? I'm asking fer a million plus the Final fantasy game.

2006-11-17 6:36:45 PM
I proudly relate stories of my children berating others for their shopping choices.

I sure would like to get my kid one of them fancy new gadgets.

2006-11-17 6:36:48 PM
The fact that WalMart craps on unions is enough reason for me to shop there.

2006-11-17 6:36:49 PM
Instead of purple bandaids, the unwashed will be sporting Sony PS3 tshirts, thinking they are cleverly burning the opposing candidate..

Sorry if I'm ruining your ideas in advance..

I'm glad we see eye to eye on this BlindMan. That rarely happens on Fark.
