I drive over the Skyway a lot living in St. Pete, and I have to admit, tossing yourself over the side does seem sort of enticing during a nice sunset on a Tuesday evening.

You will start seeing a lot more FSU fans making the jump as the football season wears on...thats why there aren't any tall bridges near Miami.

Go Gators!!!

So much for a dry run.

Traffic at that time of the morning on the Skyway is horrific. The least the guy could have done is die for all the trouble he caused. Jerk.

In the crowning achievement of my non-descript life, I pissed off the top of the Sunshine Skyway a few years ago. There was a tropical storm that had everyone off the roads- but like nearly every storm it got no where near Tampa Bay. I got to the top of the bridge, looked down both sides and there were no cars as far as the eye could see, I had to go, so I said wtf and let it rip.
2006-11-02 9:08:04 PM
I wish the useless apostrophe in "its" would jump off a bridge.
2006-11-02 9:22:18 PM
Well played, jiggold.
2006-11-02 9:24:24 PM
skink: yep, I was 10 years old living in Brandon at the time.

Here's the audio for the distress call that was recorded by the Coast Guard:

2006-11-02 9:42:51 PM
Might as well jump.
2006-11-02 9:45:48 PM
2006-11-02 08:25:06 PM jiggold

I see what you did there...
2006-11-02 9:47:21 PM
This guy even fails at suicide.

Perhaps he should get hired by some company to pick the winners of the football games that week, so everyone can pick the opposite of him and print money.

I was in kindergarten but I remember it.

Can someone who lives in St Pete tell me approximately how far Jannus Landing is from the bridge? I remember driving home stoned from a (Bad Religion?) concert and I was on the bridge before I noticed my lights weren't on.
