The sad part is, that headline pretty accurately summarizes the article.

Old age is a helluva drug.

That sounds like a vaudeville act gone horribly wrong.

Matsuhashi had punched a hole in the turtle's shell and connected it by a piece of string to the collar of his pet dog.

So where are they going to find a car that weighs a ton?

Greatest... headline.... ever...

The Manichi Daily News finds some of the weirdest news out there to report. Sometimes it makes me a little dubious. It's always entertaining though.

Turtle soup is awesome.

Karmann Ghias are fun to work on and can easily be souped up. Had one for years before I rebuilt the engine and it caught on fire shortly thereafter. That thing would be worht a lot of money now.

I had a Ghia once. Even with all the breakdowns, and no A/C, and the horn shorting out that one time in Crackton, it was my favorite ride. Had a lot of character, that car.

It amazes me that someone went to all the trouble of ripping off my Turtle. Not that it belongs to me, I just drew the picture, but wow. Eeek should sue.

[The following reply is mostly copied/pasted from my reply in the Tfark discussion thread, with a few updates in response to FishBulb in particular]

Howdy, yeah that was me.

I don't know what you mean by "drawing", since I just loaded the original photo from the original thread into illustrator and did a 'quicky' live trace. So no 'drawing' was involved.

Actually I made a series of 4 Fark cliche Shirts from when I bought a Classified on Fark {I saw a turtle, Mustard Man, Lipstick Kitty and Get a Brain Morans) it was the first week of February, but alas I dunno where the Classified archives are located.

I gotta say, Eeek's shirt is certainly better (since mine was just a quicky I threw together before my classified went live) but CafePress's print quality is awful, so I guess that's the trade off.

But rest assured this isn't some non-Farker stealing your "drawing", it's a longtime Farker stealing our community's ideas =)

Whatever you stealing fark.
2006-10-22 02:57:29 AM

Why would you assume I traced your drawing, when the photo is far more famous (and it's the exact drawing you traced)?

Since it was a cliche, I wasn't exactly surprised to find out someone else had made one, but at the time I made my shirt I had never seen another 'I Saw a Turtle' one. And since it was a well known cliche, I assumed the photo was fair game for a tracing.

Obviously not a particularly original design, but one I thought a few Farkers might like. Sorry to have offended.
