(SFGate)   "Scientists said they expect the ozone layer will have fully recovered sometime around 2065-2075--just in time for global warming to have a shot at destroying all life on Earth." I bet that's EXACTLY what they said, too   (sfgate.com) divider line

the ozone hole expanded this year mainly because of an extended cold spell at the South Pole.

If the hole is expanding due to cold, then we need global warming to save us!

We have the same article twice on the upcoming links page within sight of each other...WTF.

"I don't think there's a risk of the ozone hole growing and destroying the world," said Ken Caldeira, part of the Carnegie Institution of Washington's Department of Global Ecology

Many liberal heads will asplode when they read this. "But... But GORE said..."

The "global warming" nuts have made up so much bunk that they are now contradicting themselves and each other. Then they expect us to believe it all adds up.

Most scientists will tell you that climate change is occuring, but is not the huge problem that some make it out to be for political purposes.
They will also tell you there is little we can do about it.

A_Listless_Wanderer: What Gore talks about and what most scientists are worried about has nothing to do with the ozone hole...

The ozone hole is a great example of atmospheric science actually working. Banning and restricting CFCs has reversed the course of the hole.

People shouldn't use the fact that they are stupid and easily confused to imply that scientists are 'contradicting' each other.

Anyone who makes a comment confusing global warming and the ozone hole knows absolutely nothing about climate science and probably also couldn't tell the difference between water and sulfuric acid. These people can also be safely ignored.

FTFA: global warming to have a shot at destroying all life on Earth.

Hmm, sounds like someone needs to fire their science writer. I can believe that the current warming trend, if left unchecked, will do a lot of bad things, but even if every person on the planet drove Hummers for a hundred years, I doubt you'd get rid of all the microbes and cockroaches and shiat. It's hyperbole like this that makes it harder for people to sort out the good science from the junk.

If you seriously think banning aerosol hairspray has anything to do with it, you're a farktard.

can everyone shut up and never post anything about global warming again?

hey, wait a minute, in the 80s, there was an ozone hole, but no global warming, but now, there is less ozone hole and global warming. so, by my uneducated logic, bring back a certain amount of CFCs, so that the hole will stabilize, that way, we can let the greenhouse gases out, thereby killing off the global warming threat!!! that should work. TROOPS! get on it.

It's so nice to see morons instantly having their asses handed to them on fark. Better luck next time A_Listless_Wanderer
