kerry, edwards, gore, clinton, clark, warner.
loser, loser, loser, polarizer, boring, unknown.

who's it gonna be?

The other 12 states, meanwhile, are full of cars still sporting Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.

The apoplectic fury and pants-wetting desperation of the rabid right upon a Hillary Clinton nomination would be a beautiful, beautiful thing to behold.

I don't know why exactly people hate Hillary Clinton. I think she'd be a fine president. I just don't want her to win the primary unless she can win the election.

If Kerry runs again, I will at last give up the belief that the two party system is real at all, and not actually just one big scam foisted on us, while our president is actually picked by a bunch of creepy guys in a smoke filled room. meanwhile, the country erupts into rabid partisanism, and they laugh all the way to the bank.

2006-10-10 11:40:13 AM
For the stupid: You don't get a second chance when you lose your party's bid for president. Kerry will not, no how, never, un uh, be the nominee.

/neither will Hillary.

2006-10-10 11:41:47 AM
I tell you what, though.

If Bill Clinton could run again, there ain't nobody the Republicans could field with a prayer of beating him.

Are you kidding? I would LOVE to see Hillary get nominated. Talk about a shoo-in for the GOP.

I hate Hillary Clinton because she's a panderer and way too conservative.

But I'd rather we control both houses of congress instead of the presidency.

No thanks. He was thoroughly unimpressive the first time around. Wrong candidate, wrong time.

The Dems suck. How in God's name do we keep losing to that idiot GWB? How? Stop whining and come up with some damn answers, some ideas! Is it that hard?
Repeating "Bush sucks" over and over isn't going to win a damn thing. I actually voted Nader last time because I was so irritated at that idiot Kerry!

Re-read your post. The clue as to why that idiot GWB won last time is hidden somewhere in there.

Silly Dems.
When will they realize that you can't beat the invincible team of the GOP and Diebold.

2006-10-10 12:08:56 PM
There are democrats we'd like to see run.
Kerry is not one of them.

I'm probably alone in this, but I'd love to see a Feingold/Rendell ticket, personally. The only catch is then PA would be left with Governer Catherine Baker-Knoll. Which, if you know her, is a scary proposition.

Do we *really* need another president who believes his morals take precedence over the Constitution? Skeleton Teddy Roosevelt or bust.

FLMountainMan: Stop whining and come up with some damn answers, some ideas! Is it that hard?

Well, the "answers and ideas" the Republicans came up with for the last six years aren't working so well, are they? Maybe your lack of appreciation for nuance is part of the problem. You want easy answers from politicians, you'll get them; they'll just likely be wrongheaded.

Oooh....maybe we could get a cross-platform Roosevelt ticket! Skeletal Teddy Roosevelt/Re-animated FDR, anyone?

OK, great. I'm already not voting for Republicans, you don't have to convince me of that. Now, why should I vote *for* Democrats?

/Why do Dems seem more and more like Creationists every day? "Evolution is flawed, and that, umm, proves Creationism is valid."

Dems open huge lead

The bottom has dropped out for republicans

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-09-poll_x.htm

A Capitol Hill sex scandal has reinforced public doubts about Republican leadership and pushed Democrats to a huge lead in the race for control of Congress four weeks before Election Day, the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows.

Democrats had a 23-point lead over Republicans in every group of people questioned - likely voters, registered voters and adults - on which party's House candidate would get their vote. That's double the lead Republicans had a month before they seized control of Congress in 1994 and the Democrats' largest advantage among registered voters since 1978.

2006-10-10 1:04:07 PM
Sloth_DC: Now, why should I vote *for* Democrats?

I'm not a Democrat, so it's up to you. Besides, it depends on your local Democrat. Are they worth voting for, yes or no?

Some of my local Democrats I vote for, but in my state gubernatorial race...I'm probably voting Republican. (listened to the only scheduled debate, even)

Non-single-issue, non-partisan voting. That's how it's done. Try it, you might like it.

2006-10-10 1:06:37 PM
God, while I like many of the Democrats individually, the party is just... not together at all. With everything that has gone on, the Republicans actually have to be branded pedophiles for the Democratic party to actually get over decently?

As I have said before, vote Democratic if it's a two horse race, but if you have any chance to do so, vote Green, or Libertarian, or Independent. We really need to get out of this retarded two-party slapfight.

2006-10-10 1:07:43 PM
I think what needs to happen is that more people need to turn up at the polls, vote their damn conscience and send a message to both parties that they suck bad and we're sick of 'em.

Vote your damn conscience:

Maybe I was unfair, then - no, I don't vote straight ticket. Hell, how could I - the Libs aren't even *on* all the tickets. And, this being MD, turns out I've voted for at least one Dem on every ballot since I started voting, and haven't voted for a Rep since Dole - though with the Senate race this year, that streak is likely to be broken.

2006-10-10 1:13:10 PM
The only reason anyone voted for Kerry in the first place is because he wasn't Bush.

Sad as it is to say Hillary is probably the best candidate we have. I don't think we're ready for a woman president yet, but anyone after Bush will look like a genius so why not?

CravenMorehead: The only reason anyone voted for Kerry in the first place is because he wasn't Bush.

Hell, *I* almost voted for him, until he weaseled out on the gay marriage question. Fark, how farking hard is it to say, "I support equal rights for all Americans?"

Never ceases to amaze me. Americans are fed the same load of crap and at every election, line up to ask for seconds.

This two party system is not working. Dems and Repugs are whores to the same corperate pimps. Voting for the lessor of two evils will always ensure evil is elected.

Problem solved.

I'm voting for reanimated Jefferson and his running mate, that 4'11" Haitian dude that kinda skulks around in the background and won't tell anyone his name.

What could possibly go wrong?

Sloth_DC: Hell, how could I - the Libs aren't even *on* all the tickets.

Are you serious? That's sad. We have six parties running a person for every seat this election. Yeah, some of them are "writers" or "students" but the parties seem to be really trying to get a grip on handling themselves at a state, rather than local, level. Good to see, since one of the initiatives up locally, is ranked choice voting.
