If the entire world was run by women, we'd have to go to war every month.

Ted is losing it

I saw a comedian talking about what it would be like if all world leaders were women. He said it would start MORE wars and imagined this conversation on the White House hotline between the US and the Soviet Union (yes, this was a long time ago):

US: Hey, we detected ICBMs headed this way!
USSR: Damn right.
US: Why are you attacking us? What did we do?
USSR: You know what you did.

Who was it the other day that suggested Ted Turner was very successful and therefore couldn't say something stupid?

Whoever it was, thanks, I have not gotten two good laugs out of it.

Here's something I don't understand: since women make up roughly half the population, why don't we have (by law) one male senator and one female senator from each state. Wouldn't that give us a more fair representation of the overall population?

2006-09-21 3:44:25 PM
SpongBub: why don't we have (by law) one male senator and one female senator from each state.

That's rediculous. If people wanted more female representatives, they'd vote them in. Even though you may consider yourself more "enlightened," all the rednecks out there who don't want to vote for women or minorities have every right to vote as they wish.

You may as well make a law saying that we have to rotate between both sexes and all ethnic groups for President. So, you know, we get more fair representation.

because we have a democratically elected republic. Forcing leaders upon our populace isn't really our thing.

Just imagine, women in the Presidency...

Females simultaneously holding the presidency in Russia and the USA coupled along with "that time of the month" = WW3

Forcing leaders on our population is really our thing when most people think that there are only two parties they can vote for. The internal part of the party determines a few people to choose from for the primary election where you chose the lesser of a few evils to then again choose between the lesser of two evils a few months later.

Ted is a nut. A well-meaning nut, to be sure, but if you've lived in Atlanta for any length of time, you would know he is a completely megalomaniacal man-child with more money than sense and a hard drinker, to boot. It made for some high-quality entertainment when he would sit in his owners seats at Braves games and get crocked out of his gord. No wonder Jane pulled that cap so low over her eyes.

ted turner is a wise man. women couldn't possibly fark things up as bad as they are today.

Forcing leaders on our population is really our thing when most people think that there are only two parties they can vote for.

However, people do have the ability and the freedom to learn that they don't have to vote republican or democrat.

I understand that, in general, people do not. This is less of a case of tyrany and more a case of apathy and laziness.

/Yes, on my part too

I don't know, having had both male and female bosses a woman having PMS still isn't half a aggressive as a man in a competitive situation after a cup of coffee. Sure, PMS makes women cranky sometimes, but just having a penis makes most men determined to wave it around and prove it's the biggest.

Women will often actually listen to the ideas of others and consider them even if they have a prefered solution in mind rather then male bosses who will in the same situation get competitive and strike down any ideas that weren't their own.

They both have their downsides... But still. I wouldn't want a trade embargo on foreign clothing companies because a female president thinks they make women's butts seem bigger.

Men think more logical when they learn not to swing their "swords" whilst women always seem catty unless they've been groomed by the corporate business culture - and even then they're still edgy.

Oh shoosh 5000_gallons_of_toothpaste, I meant used in an actual statement or something ;) And it actually didn't happen, I'm amazed. Now if we tried to get an athiest to run...man...there would be an interesting race. Considering people said they'd vote for someone black, homosexual or female instead as long as they were religious.

I think what you meant to say was that "Women can't be trusted, period".

Politicians are bad enough. Adding a bunch of insane and irrational delusionals to the mix is not going to help matters.

At the same time, let's ban rich people too.

I say fill the entire Executive Branch with women. A bunch of women worrying over Prada bags and what happened to so-and-so on As The World Turns strikes me as infinitely less horrible then a bunch of rich white men deciding the death of countless thousands for no reason other than money and power.

Didn't Robin Williams say something to the effect that a woman president wouldn't be bad. She wouldn't make a bomb that would kill you: She'd just make one that would make you feel really, really bad for a while.

/Men like you built the hydrogen bomb. Men like you, thought it up.
