Flash parties are SO Howard Dean, 2003!
2006-09-20 03:52:18 AM
Have fun. If I wasnt broke... and if it wasnt so damned early... I might've thought about it.
2006-09-20 03:55:19 AM
I was hoping those had gone out of style

Oh god. Has it really come to that for fark? Flash mobs? It's like a dark cloud has just passed over fark.
2006-09-20 05:03:17 AM
mos def.
2006-09-20 07:03:06 AM
If you have ever participated in a flash mob, you should have both hands shoved into a meat grinder.
2006-09-20 07:15:45 AM
Are you listening, thewah???
2006-09-20 07:19:10 AM
maybe you guys could be chanting something hip and cool with the kids these days....

like "All your base are belong to us!"
2006-09-20 08:47:05 AM
Flash mob? What happened to you, Fark? I remember when you used to be cool, man.
2006-09-20 08:52:56 AM
Holy crap, I wish I could be there! St. Arnold's RULES.
2006-09-20 09:01:06 AM
I'm new to the Houston area, and live near JSC (SE side, a hair north of Clear Lake). Where is Shepard Square?
2006-09-20 09:17:34 AM
Jake...45N to 59S exit Shepherd go north to Richmond and it will be on the left...looks like they're starting at Stag's Head. About a 45 minute drive for ya.
2006-09-20 09:24:33 AM

I'm at JSC right now, uh...working.
2006-09-20 09:25:38 AM
And wtf is a flash mob?
2006-09-20 09:33:01 AM
a flash mob is a group of peeps who link up via celly phone text or the intrawebs with an agenda to meet at a certain local and do something silly. i.e.; meet at the Stag's Head @ 7p and lob Pop Tarts at the pub crawlers.
2006-09-20 09:36:14 AM
preferably when they are fresh out of the toaster and that icing is still a ridiculous bajillion degrees.
2006-09-20 09:50:10 AM
Actually, they appear to Start at The Mucky Duck. Then head to the Stag's Head. Then to McElroy's or Mezzanine (sp?). Finally meeting at either LZ's and/or the Hobbit Cafe.

FAIR WARNING: If you attend this event, you will want to Park at either the Academy or Stag's Head lot. Street parking in the area is tricky and you may get to detour to the impound yard on Lyons if you aren't careful.
2006-09-20 09:56:50 AM
ooops! i think you're correct b0rkt, my bad. gingerman maybe? yeah looks like they end at mcelroy's. i'll stick to the 'trose/heights crawl.
2006-09-20 09:59:24 AM
WTF would I want to throw perfectly-good pop tarts at someone?

/maybe Kroger-brand "Toaster Pastries"
2006-09-20 09:59:53 AM
I might come out for this at some point. I live within earshot of all these places so it'll be a nice little walk.
2006-09-20 10:09:10 AM
A thousand curses on the jackhole who suggested the flash mob BS.
A St. Arnold Pub Crawl is a force of nature unto its own. Just had 3-4 of the Octoberfest last night. Awesome beer.
2006-09-20 10:15:34 AM
//wants pop-tarts now
2006-09-20 10:18:03 AM
So, everyone is cursing this flash mob idea....but if anyone goes to this because of the fark call...aren't they participating?

Maybe i'm just not getting the point...Lurkerguurl says, "a flash mob is a group of peeps who link up via celly phone text or the intrawebs with an agenda to meet at a certain local and do something silly. i.e.; meet at the Stag's Head @ 7p and lob Pop Tarts at the pub crawlers."

If folks go, aren't they linking up via the intrawebs?
2006-09-20 10:24:14 AM
OTF, I guess if you act normally it doesn't count
2006-09-20 11:14:02 AM
I'm gonna go. The Saint Arnold's army guys are a good crew. There will be the Army guys, the Houston Hash House Harriers and some other random folk. Throw in a bunch of Farkers and it'll be a good evening.
2006-09-20 11:37:39 AM
So, I was already planning on going to this, that precludes me from being considered part of the 'flash mob'.

And if I get hit with a pop-tart, I'll chase you down and tackle you.

/after I eat the pop-tart
//make it chocolate
2006-09-20 11:41:08 AM
i am going to venture out, sans flaming pastries. may avoid the west-u bit tho.
2006-09-20 11:41:40 AM
I still don't understand the original pop-tart reference.

What's the deal?
2006-09-20 11:42:44 AM
*Drops pants and starts running now*
2006-09-20 11:51:13 AM
i guess you wouldn't have to throw them, just everyone show up and start eating them. that'll way you'll know they're farker...or a person who likes pop tarts with a good i.p.a.
2006-09-20 11:55:49 AM
chocolate goes good with oktoberfest, tho...
2006-09-20 11:59:16 AM
Only a bunch of Farkers could fark up a St. A's pub crawl.

I need to cash in my six-pack carriers. I was saving for the Bentley, but decided to cash in early instead.

2006-09-20 12:05:49 PM

2006-09-20 12:39:16 PM
Pop Tarts are cool

2006-09-20 12:41:49 PM
At least they're going CLOSE to a cool area. They need to move a bit north east to Midtown.

/goes out waaaaay too much while in Houston. About 6 times a week.
2006-09-20 02:26:45 PM
Man, I can get get drunk in less than 4 hours without walking, right on my own bathroom floor...or something like that.

I might participate anyway though.
2006-09-20 02:36:00 PM
You motherfarkers! You collossal pieces of shiat! Finally, there is some farking FARK event that is not actually out in farking Sugarland, or at least out past HWY6 & I have to be out of farking town. Working. Gobble my balls you lousy biatches!

/havea good time
2006-09-20 03:25:01 PM
Hmmm... flash mob or not, if I can drink tasty beer and snatch free pop tarts from thin air count me in.
Plus McGonegiels Mucky Duck, the Stags Head and Hobbit cafe are all old stompimg grounds, each within shouting distance of the other and the staff at the Hobbit are wicked fun!
It's about a 45 minute drive for me from the NW side but I'll be helping a gal move around there friday anyway so It must be pre-ordained that I drink.
God himself demands it!

Beer is good.
Cold beer is better.
Free beer is best.
2006-09-20 04:02:23 PM
DuX: Free beer is best.

So, would you rather drink a free Bud Light, or pay for a St. Arnold Brown?

/this is a test
2006-09-20 04:12:35 PM
mybluemake Sorry dude. I'll probably go to Rudz to see the Wolf and then catch up with the crawl. I'll have a lawnmower for you.

I would rather have enough wealth to drink only the best hooch for as long as my liver would hold out and drink it in the company of an evil red-headed vixen.
That being said, given the whims and vagaries of fortune that one encounters as one spirals down into a good night of drinking, I will plough through even the vilest of liqour should it be set in front of me after some villan has absconded with the good stuff.
Let it never be said that my sense of duty was ever overcome by common sense or good taste.
