Nice.

I love how whenever it rains in Arizona, it's LIVE LATE BREAKING NEWS, and then they put some dipshiat in a helicopter to cover the story. "Patti, you can see the storm front rolling in, and it looks like we're gonna get some rain....here's some actual, raw and unedited footage of the storm. Yup. That's some rain, right there, people."

"Thanks Bruce. Godspeed."

With the start of fall only days away, experts are predicting a colorful coating of leaves on the region's mountainsides this season.

Good thing we had experts on hand to tell us that. I would have predicted a colorful coating of meth crystals on the mountainsides, but then again I'm no expert.

What is this "fall" everyone is talking about? In Texas there's a week between Summer and Winter when the temperature isn't above 90 degrees, but that hardly counts as a season.

Be careful what you wish for...November sweeps will soon be upon us, and you'll all get to enjoy news "teasers" like:

What common household product could make your child's brain catch fire? We'll tell you after the movie!

He's killed more than 300 people and he escaped from jail -- is he in your neighborhood RIGHT NOW? Find out at 11!

School taxes are going up fifteen thousand percent for one area school district -- we'll tell you which one after 14 minutes of weather!

That skank at the bar you banged? Was she a dude? We'll tell you after the game!

Guess you guys have never lived in the Northeast. This is huge for the tourism economy:

Leaf peeping is big business for New York and neighboring Vermont. Twenty percent of New York state's annual $34 billion in tourism revenue is generated during the fall, according to the state tourism agency. For Vermont, the autumn season brings in 4 million tourists and $1.2 billion.

So, yes, it IS news.

Widgie--

I'm from the Northeast, and the dopey leaf-peeping tourist season is at LEAST as important in Western NC as it is up there. Reason being, not much other money coming in here. When the tourism stops, Asheville stops.

And that's when the whores come in!

Twenty percent of New York state's annual $34 billion in tourism revenue is generated during the fall, according to the state tourism agency.

That means the average tourism rate for seasons other than fall is almost seven percent higher per season.

In our suburban area we have scheduled curb-side leaf pickup but each year the pickup week for our ward is about two weeks before the leaves start falling, with no followup.

Previously I'd rake the leaves out to the curb right after they fell and watch as they rotted, got rained on, turned into a giant wad of brown mush, and eventually froze. Yeah, so this year I'll just have to rake the leaves out before they've fallen. Ha. Or bag them as trash.

Poopy MacPoop: /Fall is here again, and all I have to say is, "fark fall."

Oooh, the leaves change color! The leaves change colors for two days. Then a big wind comes, and you've got nothin' but sticks for the rest of the year!

Here in Ventura, CA I will notice that the Santa Ana winds start blowing a little more. There are always fires and the surf gets better due to offshore winds. The temperature? Not much change at all.

Fall is already here.

Last night, I went outside and watched the Northern Lights, while wolves howled and an owl hooted. There is a chill in the night air, but it gets in the 60's during the day (I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt right now). Leaves on the trees are turning yellow, or red, and falling when the wind blows.

I'm in love with Asheville. I moved here a couple of months ago from Plano, TX. Man, the weather is great here. When it is 82, people complain of a heat wave. I just smile, and grab a sweater.

This fall is going to be great. I'll be doing day hikes on the AT and Pisgah National Forest trails and hope to see some spectacular sights!!

Same thing here in SoCal. One of the stations has "StormWatch", but after several "storms" only produced light rain the weather guy changed it to "DrizzleWatch".
