Nope....It is racist wherever it comes from.

However, he will get a pass, because he is a liberal blogger.

African-Americans' presence in America's middle-class is growing at a fast and steady rate, so they see that the logical political extension of making a good living and wanting to progtect it is to side with the Republican Party's policies.

Though they may not endorse all these policies, I cannot think of a politician on either side of the aisle who does.

2006-09-11 6:31:04 PM
What the hell is "progtect"?

REAL SHAMAN: However, he will get a pass, because he is a liberal blogger.

And thusly, the conservative persecution complex sustains itself.

BigTuna: And thusly, the conservative persecution complex sustains itself.

Well, subby already borrowed black America's indignation in the headline so there wasn't much left.

"This year Republicans will most likely run three African-Americans in statewide elections: Kenneth Blackwell (for governor in Ohio), former NFL star Lynn Swann (for governor in Pennsylvania) and Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele, who is seen as the frontrunner for the Republican Senate nomination there.

Has the Republican Party suddenly caught a case of jungle fever? - Adam Howard"

Nice addition there--the fonts in "Jews Do That" match almost perfectly with the text that was actually in that ad.

I think the main point of the blogger is that although there are African American candidates, it's still the same old party, which favors the super-rich with tax cuts and still lies to the middle class that, yes they too will get those benefits if they work hard enough.

Of course, a reading like that takes a sense of nuance, which was stripped out of political discourse years ago.

/Cue the "that's racist!" boy....

Well, if "nuance" means "ignore a comment you would call racist if someone else made it," then I guess I agree.

I'm not surprised that an idiot blogger of either party would say something so blatantly racist. Instead I'm surprised that none of the comments attached to the blog mention it. Any bets on whether the comments have been censored?

It depends on the writer.

If he is white than it is racist.
If he is black. . . Well you see black people are allowed to use terms like. . .

Aw screw it, its racist.

2006-09-11 8:39:35 PM
Disgustingly racist. This guy should be mopping floors for a living - or join the GOP, where his kind is appreciated.

Gnome sayin.

2006-09-11 9:06:39 PM
Does someone have to spell this out? There are a hell of a lot more racist conservatives out there than racist liberals. It comes out as less offensive when it's coming from someone who is non-conservative, I guess for the same reason black people can say attractive and successful African-American.

It's interesting how conservatives even understand this.

I don't know about you honkeys, but I gots me some jungle fever too.

Oh GOD... I just said honkeys and jungle fever! Shield the eyes of your children, for there is rampant filth raging about!

Article : But some pundits have suggested that the recruiting of these candidates is a desperate attempt to siphon off black votes from Democratic candidates in swing states. .

Ah, NOW I get it!
If Republicans DO put up African-American candidates, it's because they're racists.
And if Republicans do NOT put up African-American candidartes, it's because they're racists.

How..... open-minded.

I really disagree with Dimension Park, mainly because it starts with a prejudiced statement. More racist conservatives than liberals? I beg to differ. there are millions of liberals protesting groups like the World bank for trying to give africans the chance to be industrialized. The want to keep Africans in huts.
They show up in SUVs to say that they can't share in our prosperity. They will say it is about something else, but this is really the gist of it.

They demand welfare programs that go on forever because they never expect the poor negroes the learn to be self sufficient. This is liberal thought,

It had an old name , "white man's burden"
The other name is racism.

DimensionalPunk : Does someone have to spell this out? There are a hell of a lot more racist conservatives out there than racist liberals.

Yes, you DO have to spell it out.
And your second sentence there is false.

David Duke (D) is so much a "conservative" that the ONE time he managed to hijack a Republican primary the entire state Republican party directed it's folks to vote for the opposition - a known crook - instead of him.

BTW - the Dem/Libs who smile patronizingly as if to pat someone's head whenever someone of color does anything they normally might regard as "bad" are swimming in the racism of lowered expectations. Now-a-days that's a lot more damaging to minority lives than no-longer-existant firehoses.

2006-09-11 9:41:21 PM
bmasso

I agree with your views on the 'racism of lowered expectations', but it is better than the racism of apathy and Jim Crow, which is clearly what the GOP has in mind.

2006-09-11 10:15:53 PM
So, even if the republicans ever manage to get rid of the fiscal liberals they'll still be polluted by whiny crybabies ?

Great, I guess I'll be waiting even longer than I thought for a decent party to support.

2006-09-11 11:55:46 PM
I'm not voting against Ken Blackwell because he's racist.

I'm voting against Ken Blackwell because he has farked up Ohio's election process. Just like the rest of the Ohio GOP has farked up the many other aspects of the state.

That's why jobs are leaving Ohio in droves, leaving Ohioans no choice but to burn couches when they celebrate big football wins.

/last part sacrastic.
//Except for the jobs leaving Ohio part.

I'm a liberal. I've never, ever heard of this blogger. Yes, I have heard of the Nation, but I never read it since it's basically crap.

Yes, it's a racist and stupid statement that he ledes with. At least he's doing us a favor and saving us from reading the rest of his tripe.

2006-09-12 2:40:43 AM
bmasso, Duke has ran as both Gop and Dem, quit trying to hang him on the party that you dislike, it's disingenuous and deceitful.

2006-09-12 3:48:26 AM
Yup, that was racist. As long as the quote is accurate.

/'libs' are willing to admit when one of their own does wrong

2006-09-12 7:28:14 AM
I don't tend to tie racism to any political party, but rather by certain sections of a party.

What I'm saying is, the social cons are ripe with 'em.

The Republicans are just better at diversity than many of the liberals want to believe.
I'm pretty sure a liberal farker will prove this soon...if it hasn't already been done.

And this guy is a bigot
