I think she said, "Mffmf gahlalafmfm bmbmffff gbhfaahff." Tough to tell because she had a mouthful of Cheetos.

Anything that disagrees with my opinion is automatically a zionist, racist, bigoted, subversive, fascist conspiracy. Anything that agrees with my opinion is automatically perfect.

I'm not going to read too much into it, but Sweeney, President - ABC Television, does seem to be a fan of Bush and the guy who thinks the Internet is made up of tubes.

Are you actually trying to equate "hey, just so you know, this shiat is Republican propaganda" with "telling you what to read, watch, and think"?

...someone has forgotten the conniption fit the Repubs had about "The Reagans."

Both parties suck, but usually one sucks more than the other at a given point in time. Right now, this country's biggest problem is the Republican Party.

I can tell from your ignorance that you do not live in California, and have no idea how Reiner is farking up the State with his attention whore politics. And what's worse, is he's an "artist" in the "entertainment business"... a group of people who usually champion others' right to express themselves without censorship -- guess that only works if those folks "agree" with your ideology.

And it's the whiny billionaire liberals who are our worst domestic threat -- because all they do is biatch, but never present a plan that'll make people follow them.

The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally...Stand by me?
Great movie maker. And he has an opinion.
Which I agree with 100%

I'm dying to know.

He also directed North. God, what a stinker. See if you can find Ebert's review, though. As bad as that film was, it did give us one of the most hilarious film critique's ever written, so there's some value to that.

I'm always amazed at people that post political contributions and thinks that it amounts to anything. $1000 is what the president of ABC TV spends in a day on meals, do you think that's going to buy some influence?

Not saying that Anne isn't a raving ring wing nutball, but to use donations as a measure of anything is naive. Do you think Bush is going to be persuaded by $1000?

None of them.

... a group of people who usually champion others' right to express themselves without censorship -- guess that only works if those folks "agree" with your ideology.

Right to expression is different from "right to blatantly distort facts and mislead the public in an election year."

THERE IS NO "CENSORSHIP" HAPPENING HERE - There are people expressing their belief that a distorted view of a recent and tragic event is irresponsible at best, and deliberatly designed to misinform for the benefit of a particular party at worst.

There is a difference, and you know it.

2006-09-10 12:44:33 PM
For those who don't know the answer, not a single one of the networks aired F 911. It was eventually shown on HBO.

Disney, the owners of ABC, even reneged on their agreement to distribute the film and it ended up being distributed in the US by Lion's Gate Films, a Canadian company.

You mean a huge, for-profit media conglomerate may have ties to the corporate-friendly GOP?

B-b-b-b-ut Ann Coulter told me the media is full of dirty, traitorous libs!

Just like NBC, who is actually owned by General Electric, who when they're not making nuclear reactors, fighter jet engines, weapons for the US military, and other hippie crap, is just plotting to bring down the Greatest President Ever.

lelio: Do you think Bush is going to be persuaded by $1000?

If Bush is influenced by a contribution is not in question here. What is in question is the political leanings of ABC- and who the CEO contributes to has a bearing on that discussion.

There is a difference, and you know it.

Yep, the difference is that when the distortion aid their causes (i.e. Farencrap 9/11) you don't hear a word from them, but when it contradicts their beliefs, you can't hear a thing over their whining.

Which makes them identical to those they protest.

Anybody protesting this that didn't protest Moore is a hypocrit.

Lionel Mandrake : THERE IS NO "CENSORSHIP" HAPPENING HERE

Meh, while I agree that ABC apparently went overboard in "condensing" and "punching up" their docudrama (btw, Mr. Moore is arguably guilty of this as well, and don't even get me STARTED on "Loose Change") - what else IS threats from politicians to pull broadcast licenses - other than "censorship"?

"Reagan" got hit by threats of consumer boycots - "Path" got hit by threats to the very operation of ABC on gov't letterhead.

The CraneMeister: Bill Clinton's camp yesterday demanded that ABC can its controversial film "The Path to 9/11," due to air tonight

Did Bill Clinton's camp threaten ABC with any legal consequences (aside from a libel suit, to which any speaker would be exposed) if they did not can it? No?

Then it isn't censorship.

Go back to 10th grade civics, repeat. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

The difference is Michael Moore is a well-known activist and people watching his films know that he deals in polemics.

Compare that with a "docudrama" which claims to re-enact the unbias facts as put forward in the 9/11 Commission Report. Disney has even gone so far as to send out Press Releases to schools for its use as educational material.

So no, it's not the same thing.

Now if the producers want to try their hand at putting this in theatres or marketing it as DVD fodder for the Freeper crowd they're more than welcome to test the Free Market without pressure on ABC.

meshman: How does Reiner criticizing fabrications in the story = Democrats run ABC?

From TFA: "I think we all can agree that it's in everybody's best interests for the Republicans to be searching out the perpetrators who were complicit in the 9/11 attacks, rather than spending time actively trying to set the blame on the previous administration."

truth_is_stranger_than_fishin: The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally...Stand by me?

Those movies were all from the eighties. Note that he has become more political with an onslaught of mediocre movies such as North, Ghosts of Mississippi, The Story of Us, Alex and Emma, and Rumor Has it.

And he has an opinion.

But not much else.

Which I agree with 100%

So do I, but I don't care about his opinion. Nor should you. He's an annoying blowhard with little authority on the controversy. Moreover, he is no way directly affected by it. He just wants to chime in. And why?

Because no one sees his movies anymore.

The difference is Michael Moore is a well-known activist and people watching his films know that he deals in polemics.

Strangely, Michael Moore disagrees with you. According to his website, his film was nothing but the truth..etc.etc.

Compare that with a "docudrama" which claims to re-enact the unbias facts as put forward in the 9/11 Commission Report. Disney has even gone so far as to send out Press Releases to schools for its use as educational material.

Kinda exactly like Moore claims to be representing nothing but the truth? And the study guide available from his website?

So no, it's not the same thing.

So, aside from being exactly the same thing, it's different?

Now if the producers want to try their hand at putting this in theatres or marketing it as DVD fodder for the Freeper crowd they're more than welcome to test the Free Market without pressure on ABC.

Hate to break this news to you, but ABC? It's part of that "Free Market" you're mentioning there.

Because no one sees his movies anymore.

On the flip, if you're riding high, you don't want to go political. You don't want to alienate half your audience.

For me, as long as you entertain me, politics matters little.

They're not the same thing - apparently reading comprehension elludes you.

Yes it is, and subject to economic and public pressure like all Free Market forces are. If ABC decides to drop or edit the material and the Producers don't like it, they can always market their product elsewhere which is what Moore had to do when Disney dropped him.

Er, no.

Perhaps you should look into who owns the airwaves ABC broadcasts over before you blow something like that out of your arse in the future.
