I don't see what this has to do with Steve Irwin's tragic passing.

Uh, that's a newfangled way to get votes, at least in the counties between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Is that a Chapelle's show reference?

"First we're gonna go to the funnel cake stand, then we're gonna go the dunk tank, and then we're gonna go back to the sheep stand to reclaim the farm!"

Funny, that's the exact method OJ used to look for Nicole's killer.

Swann could have done so much better at the polls in Allegheny County had he been paying his respects to Mayor OConnor instead of dunking clowns.

I've got high hopes for the fall congressional elections.

Every true liberal knows that Karl and co. will just steal this one, too

/seriously, why do you even bother to vote?

Sviddy: Swann could have done so much better at the polls in Allegheny County had he been paying his respects to Mayor OConnor instead of dunking clowns.

I don't understand why he hasn't been campaigning more aggressively in Pittsburgh. Even though it is heavily democratic, these yinzers are stupid enough to vote for him solely because he was a Steeler.

My guess is that he feels he is a lock in Pittsburgh - I might be the only one on my block without a Swann/Matthews sign in my yard.

Or then again, maybe he can't afford our taxes in A.C. and opts instead to go to Westmoreland where he's been a few times.

you know, i really have to ask... does anyone actually know what his positions on various issues ARE?

I don't. And believe me, I've been paying attention tot he news for it.
Rendell, he's got positions, and ones I can agree with no less. Plus, Ed's got that everyman persona that works so well for him. I just cannot see myself voting for Swann on the issues.
2006-09-04 01:21:34 PM
Eh, I think he's got a big uphill battle if he wants to win against Rendell.

/Been bad PA citizen, not paying attention to gubernatorial race

If he changes his running mate to...

I will be moving back to Pittsburgh to cast my vote.

His target in the dunk tank is appropriate... because Lynn Swann running for governor is farking CLOWN SHOES.

If Pennsylvania elects him that state has jumped the stingray.

Why do people keep voting jocks into office?? With the possible exception of Jack Kemp (who's poles apart from me politically, but face it, he deserves props) they tend to be clowns like that Bunning guy.

/Wisconsinite, thankful that Mark Chmura got caught playing with underage girls in his hot tub. He would have been a shoo-in, and a disaster...

2wolves: If Pennsylvania elects him that state has jumped the stingray.

if polls are any indication (and they're not, always) Swann is eriously trailing in them. He's got soem name recognition, but then, so does Rendell, and quite frankly, any "its time for a change" ehetoric might fall on deaf ears, as, as far as i know, the economy here in PA is doing well, plus Rendell has actually followed through (to the best of my knowledge) on things like Property Tax reform.

There are issues that Swann probably COULD go after, but quite frankly, his campaign has just been so lackluster up till now, I wouldn't count on it.

Heard Swannie on a football broadcast last year state "It's the things you don't expect that surprise you."
Sounds like he's cut out perfectly for politics.
2006-09-04 09:04:53 PM
Hey MacGabhain, forward that to rove so he can teach it to shrub. Its more intelligent sounding than alot of the sh!t that comes outta his mouth.
2006-09-04 10:13:43 PM
I know that I'll be mad as anything if Swann wins. The man doesn't have a platform. The last time I heard him comment on an issue, he clearly had no idea WTF he was talking about (in regards to building a new stadium for the Penguins).
2006-09-05 08:28:58 AM
Rendell has been the worst thing to happen to Pa in years. His answer is alway to raise taxes. Pennsylvania does not need his type in office anymore. Spend and tax democrat.
2006-09-05 10:10:23 AM
Swann doesn't know anything about politics and has close ties to several high-ranking Republicans that got tossed during this year's primaries. Reformer my butt.

Rendell is scum and just wants all the taxpayers to subsidize corporate welfare for Filthadelphia. He makes me sick! If you didn't know, Fast Eddie did say he is interested in running for President. God help us.
