I think he's only up to coloring books right now

I've never had the occasion to contemplate "the furniture of his mind" before, but my money's on a floor lamp with a threadbare shade, a coffee table with cigarette burns on the edges, and a lumpy Morris chair that smells of stale bourbon and desperation.

Why do people CONTINUE to give Bush WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT? Does someone still not know he's a complete dipshiat fratboy shill for his wealthy friends? Holy jebus I can't believe the denial in which such a large percentage of the country continue to live.

Doctor Hooey: Why do people CONTINUE to give Bush WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT?

For what? Reading a book?

I've never understood why this is news at all, much less why this guy thinks Bush might attack Iran just because he read "The Stranger."

Nice!

I was thinking more along the lines of a mouldy basement with a wet cardboard box as a table, and a couple of milk crates for seating.

Which is what he'll need after sniffing the glue and eating the paste

I imagine the furniture of his mind to be from Ikea - the instructions are in Swedish and several vital screws are missing.

Since if the dude can't even manage to eat a pretzel safely, he's going to need all the help he can get.

Hmmm, a clever con man pretending to be an idiot so he can take advantage of those who let their guard down? That's pretty insightful, GoT.

Who cares what he's reading? Who he's listening to and what he's doing is so much more relevant. Unless you think that he's so easily swayed by a book. Someone should do a test and plant the Communist Manifesto in the oval office and see what happens.

2006-09-01 1:37:29 PM
I read in an editorial yesterday that he claims to have read 53 books so far this year, including several biographies on Lincoln and Washington. That's about 2 books a week. I read about 2 books a week, but I'm not the farking president. If he has that much time on his hands he's probably not doing president stuff. Cheney's the puppetmaster here.

And he's lying. He hasn't read 53 books in his life. Not even comic books. They're all way over his head.

I would rather not see that tested. Who knows where Chimpy will take us. Funny watching him talk to Brian Williams and him explaining how he "read 3 histories" on George Washington. I think in his deluded mind, he thinks that in 30-40 years he will be regarded as some hero. Unless things drastically change over the two years, good luck with that. Another interesting point was him talking about his father, and if he talks about his work to him, his dad, probably so dumbfounded by what has happened, his only response: "I love you"

/Bet George Sr wishes someone else was his son....
//Regarded as "conspiracy theory" by Chimpy himself

NateGrey: I think in his deluded mind, he thinks that in 30-40 years he will be regarded as some hero.

Meh, all presidents want to be remembered favorably. Especially when they start to get to the end of the ride. Who knows how GWB will be remembered in 100 years. It's all going to depend on what happens in the next 40 years. If the Middle East erupts into some sort of anarchy, and Iraq turns out to be a stabilizing influence (unlikely) he may be remembered as a visionary. History tends to judge leaders by what comes after their term*.

Unless you're some sort of genocidal maniac.

John Paul Jones: "the furniture of his mind"

A large, windowless room, furnished by three electric chairs faced by one formica table.
The walls are hung with colourless daubs embellished with the bleeding heart motif and cross's
The flooring is monotonous, its pattern giving the impression of small animal crapping at regular intervals.
The whole scene is lit by a wall of soundless colour TV's and a row of six orange table lamps in which shifting globules of molten wax move like specimens of rare snot.

We've already established that GW doesn't pay the toadies who defend him, but is there at least a medical plan ?

It seems that some of the poor lost souls are really losing it.

It's more than that: It's the ganglious ratcheting of his rubber resolve. The phoenetic fancies of falsehood and aphasia, scattered by the AA promise prism of his prefrontal cortex; the nascent rage, the blastocytic Battletoads of Bush's self doubt and ressentiment- sublime, bilious, burgeoning, throbbing with the lust of a billion Radio Shack-bound Babbages behind the cold blue ice of his aristocratic eyes; the man works harder than we think, and might break at any moment.

I'm so bored. Maybe they'll let me kick off an hour early.

But, but, our president doesn't believe in evolution!
