I loved the candy cigs when I was a kid...white sugar sticks with a red dye tip. Awesome.

This was a pretty useless article, with some explanatory link for every self-evident noun in the article, starting with "packaging."

I liked the ones that were bubble gum wrapped in white paper, and when you blew on them a little puff of "smoke" came out.

"smoke" huh? I think you need some counseling.

2006-08-11 02:37:34 AM
No, it was the sugar dust on the gum or something (you know, like on the gum in baseball cards and such), obviously not smoke, but that's what we thought it looked like.

2006-08-11 02:50:49 AM
I was just kidding. Never mind. :)

This really is the best headline that has ever been submitted.

Yep...the gum was hard and tasteless, but it was worth it to be able to expel that little cloud of white powder. I used to get them from the ice cream guy ever time he drove through my neighborhood.

We used to snort pixie sticks while smoking candy cigarettes and drinking Martinellis sparkling apple cider (the one in the beer/wine looking bottle).

I was at Atlantic City last week, and a couple of the 99 cent stores on the boardwalk sold candy cigs. I didnt think they still made them.

I always like the Stark company's candy cigs, granted they tasted like rolaids

You forgot the part where you snort the Pixie Sticks from the crack of a Blowupdoll's ass.

/you know as long as you are using substitutes for everything

2006-08-11 10:16:51 AM
Derek Force: I didnt think they still made them.

Are you kidding? They make all kinds of strange and wonderful candies. For example, go to a museum gift shop.

In my particular museum they sell candy with bugs in it. Real bugs.

They taste kind of salty.

/it was a dare

BarkingPumpkin that Penguin Pooper is hysterical! I want one! Where would I find such a toy?

2006-08-11 10:21:07 AM
There is a Reindeer one as well.

2006-08-11 10:21:40 AM
Obviously a pathetic attempt by the paranoid government of the times to link the psychedelic hippy love culture with destructive drugs like heroin, despite the complete opposites of effect and addictiveness!

And Post cereals were in on it!

//dies from aneurysm due to candy stuck in vein

RoboJesus I've seen those. Some with scorpions, too. Actually, the scariest candy I've seen is some sort of Japanese giant wasp in some sort of clear honey liquid... we're talking 3-inch-long wasp, here.

/that was in the same store that sold weasel vomit and civet poop coffees

2006-08-11 10:23:09 AM
Does anybody else remember seeing a candy a few years ago called "The Crave"? It was a liquid that came in a test-tube like plastic bottle as though it was some sort of concoction cooked up in a meth lab.

2006-08-11 10:25:09 AM
Lethia - You can get one (and the reindeer one, and the pig one, and the bunny one,) and a whole bunch of other weird crap through stupid.com.

I want the penguin pooper as well.

They sell all that bug candy at Jungle Jim's in Fairfield, Ohio.

My coworker has a Santa on his desk that poops candies.

And why hasn't anyone posted a picture of some Big League Chew yet?

Every winter, my dentist gives out bags of dehydrated marshmallows, calls them "Snowman Poop"

monty666:

That was always the best part about having asthma in grade school. I got to exhale the puff of medicine from my inhaler as if it were smoke.

I didn't realize at the time that the reason my inhaler didn't work was because I was exhaling most of the medicine.

I actually only had the one with grasshopper. I don't wish to ever repeat that experience, but they're all in a clearish honey type liquid. I saw (same store) a wasp (though not as big as the one you describe) and the store you're talking about sounds like one man's dream to throughly disgust every person in the world. At the same time.

Some kid used to sell bags of marshmellows as "Gost Poo" (it was kindergarten, give him a break) and everybody believed him (it was kindergarten, give us a break).

I hope they never stop making the candy cigs. I actually liked whatever candy it was made from (compressed powdered sugar?)

bring it back!

Had my 10 year old stepkid with me yesterday when i stopped by the smokeshop. Picked him up some candy ciggs and made his day!

\i know...whoop-dee-doo
\\surprised me they were still around in this PC generation

Rozinante: I just vomited in my mouth a little

ornithopter: The civet poop coffee is actually quite good, and rather expensive (like $35 a half pound, if I remember correctly)

From TFA: Hippy Sippy was immediately controversial, and outraged many people, including liberals and leaders of the (then) young generation.

I like how they had to specify that the "young generation" in the 1960s was young then, not now.
