Confabulat

In KY "hemp" grows wild...its a remnant of WWII, when the US Gummint paid farmers...very well...to stop growing tobacco and grow hemp instead.

I think it would be really funny if it turns out that the most efficient oil and gasoline replacement could be made out of hemp. That would make me happy.

I can smell the patchouli oil from here.

Uh, hey, hippie stompers.

Learn a bit about the plant he praises before you stomp him.

I actually just watched a movie on youtube about it. Some of it's dumb, of course, and some of the people in it have obviously smoked themselves retarded.

But I smoke.
I'm not retarded.
The key is to not always smoke.

Also, hemp is one of the most amazing textiles in existence, and the fact that you know nothing about it is just amazing proof that when the USA doesn't want you to know about something, they usually get the job done.

P.s. Hemp rope is the strongest, most durable. Hemp paper was first originated in China, and was the first paper ever. It also can be processed in a way that makes better insulation than any oil-derived or fiber-glass crap you can find.

Oh, and it's delicious.

If this is Gore's mission and it's such an important movie for all to see why didn't he release it on network TV?

Also (pops)

What's the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

The difference is in its use. Hemp and Marijuana both come from the same plant - Cannabis Sativa L. The term 'Hemp' commonly refers to the industrial/commercial use of the cannabis stalk and seed for textiles, foods, papers, body care products, detergents, plastics and building materials. The term 'marijuana' refers to the medicinal, recreational or spiritual use involving the smoking of cannabis flowers.

Industrial hemp contains only about 0.3% - 1.5% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinoids, the intoxicating ingredients that make you high) while marijuana contains about 5% - 10% or more THC.

/Not that you can't smoke it. It's just not the same.

Yep. Marijuana comes from the female, and hemp traditionally comes from the male. Actually, I'm sure hemp could be made from the female, but like you said, industry regulations keep THC content of the crop as low as possible.

...
Hash. Hash is good.

Goldsfool: hemp is one of the most amazing textiles in existence, and the fact that you know nothing about it is just amazing proof that blah blah blah

Okay, it's like this, folks: The headline says "Cause and Effect," see? And then the first clause describing the letter mentions apathy, right? And apathy is a frequent symptom experienced by heavy users of marijuana, right? And then the second clause says we should all use more cannabis, okay?

Talk about humor impaired. Yeesh. I thought dopeheads were supposed to be more relaxed and not so uptight.

There is no rational argument for keep marijuana or commercial hemp illegal.

2006-08-01 3:10:35 AM
It's illegal so the gubment can stuff prisons with minority 'offenders.' Alcohol is the most dangerous drug on the planet (IMHO) because no other drug, legal or not, makes one a sumbly-wumbly fool.

Our government sickens me. They don't care about the welfare of the public, they care about lining their pockets with greenbacks any way they can. Who cares if they're throwing innocent people in prison for life? They're providing work for people!

And the CIA made black people smoke crack!
