See, if you want to use that cliche they have to be steps not a progression of what actually happened.

I'm guessing now the thieves will write the brick off as a charitable contribution. They're incorrigible.

If life gives you a brick, make brickade.

"Who would have thought you could sell a brick for 225 pounds? It's amazing,"

Yeah most bricks aren't nearly that heavy.

Just goes to show you, when life throws a brick through your window, make brickanade.

Damn you, Drakkenmaw. Damn you to hell.

Kickass.

Sometimes I love the internet that makes things like this possible. Sucks that they didn't make enough to fix the window, but after enough people read that story, I bet they will...

Cost of repairing door: 600 pounds
Amount robbed from store: ?? pounds
Amount recouped by sale of brick: 225 pounds
Profit: NOT YOURS!

Their fighting style is very unorthodox... but effective...

If the local rabble would start smashing windows with gold bricks then the victims couldn't act to clever eh?

LESSON LEARNED: Throw more bricks. Do it for charity.

Is it just me, or does the brick in a window method seem to be an exclusively British thing? I can't think of the last time I heard of that happening in the US, but seems like every other week I hear about it there.

Most shop windows in the U.S. are made out of force-resistant plastics. A brick will bounce off those. In one recorded-by-camera instance that wound up on TV, a guy tried to chunk a cement block through one and it bounced off to knock him straight out.

Smitty needs a lesson in math.

600 Cost of Door
-225 Money Raised in Auction
375 Loss

Loss != Profit

hah ya that was a great one. As popular as that clip was, I'm having trouble finding it to link, ah well =/

the door cost 600 pounds to fix? That's like $1117.00.
Since a brick was thrown through it, I'm guessing it was just the glass that was broken. Maybe they should have auctioned off that expensive glass door for charity before someone threw a brick through it....

I blame U2.

How much longer before they try to take our bricks away from us? It smells like a conspiracy to sell more straw.

The funny thing is that Bono works with African aid organizations, including OxFam. But they did sing about throwing a brink through a window, so I see your point. :)

No profit, unfortunately. The door costs 600 pounds to repair; the brick was purchased for only 225 pounds. Still, what a clever way to offset the loss.

What kind of dumbass steals books? They have no bloody resale value!

It's a charity. It should be:
