This was submitted eariler, with a very unfunnier headline.

As if the Smackdown brand couldn't get any worse.

2006-06-06 9:55:46 AM
Finally a venue where his schtick will seem subtle and nuanced.

I am just going to assume that the cool tag is relevant to the idea of that no talent hack getting tossed around a ring and possibly breaking several bones while unknowingly sliding off into obsurity as just another sideshow freak soon to be found dead in a bathtub in a Motel 6 somewhere outside of Bumblefart, AR.

Wow, the Jack Black Hater Society is in session today.

you know it's a movie, right?

2006-06-06 11:00:20 AM
Kyosuke [TotalFark]

As it should be. As an actor, I can't think of anything amusing he has done. He should stick with TD

I, for one, welcome our Mexican wrestling overlords

2006-06-06 11:01:00 AM
I read the headline as 'Jack Bauer joins WWE.

2006-06-06 11:01:45 AM
Screw you all. Jack Black rocks.

2006-06-06 11:02:22 AM
So is this just a cross promotion or is he actually going to do a WWE match?

LIFE HANGS IN THE BALANCE.

LandOfChocolate: I read the headline as 'Jack Bauer joins WWE.

Ha! Glad I'm not the only one. I swear to god that's what it said!

Hey I liked School of Rock

2006-06-06 11:04:01 AM
That's not a cross-promotion.
THIS is a cross promotion!

Jack Black + Mexican Wrestling + School of Rock Writers = Awesome... umm... where was I going with this??

I wonder if this link was posted by a real farker or by an underground marketer looking to create "net buzz".

Looks like a howl.

Shouldn't the complainer be holding forth on how sublime they are by going to the latest poorly lit and directed art house film?

2006-06-06 11:05:24 AM
I too thought the headline read "Jack Bauer". Now I just don't care.

2006-06-06 11:05:31 AM
How can anyone knock a guy with Career Highlights such as these?

Career Highlights: Cooking delicious meals for the orphans at the monastery, winning enough prize money to purchase recreation clothes, sharing some toast with the lovely Sister Encarnacion

If this guy's not in the movie, the producers are fools foolier foley-ish.

2006-06-06 11:08:28 AM
His movies are mildly amusing but Tenacious D was (is?) great

TELEKINESIS, Kyle...

Come on, where's the love for Tenacious D?

Yeah, Smackdown brand is a complete trainwreck at this point. Jack Black can't do any further damage (and is actually funny when he's firing on all eight). Still, a mess of folks have made appearances on WWE (or WW The Panda Stole the F if you prefer) to plug their movies (Jeneane Garofalo on Raw with Ben Stiller - Mystery Men, remember?), so this isn't terribly surprising.

What bothers me is that this could be history repeating itself. Remember "WCW Champion David Arquette"? My blood just ran ice cold at the thought. Strong competition makes for better programming...Support TNA.

/Funaki and Snitsky as new Tag Champions.
//We need Kane and Umaga vs. Isaac Yankem, DDS and Jamal...

Why not get involved in something as stupid and annoying as wrestling to promote something as stupid and annoying as that Nacho Libre movie?

/it's cross promotion genius

2006-06-06 11:11:22 AM
If Jack Black writes for WWE, then WWE might just become almost watchable.

Otherwise who cares?

2006-06-06 11:12:17 AM
This is going to be awesome!

2006-06-06 11:13:27 AM
TD = pretty good
JB as an actor = teh suck

he's trying to be Belushi, and is nowhere near as good at it.

Vaya con Queso!

2006-06-06 11:13:35 AM
Jack Black? Pray tell, who might this lad be? It wouldn't perhaps be that dreadfull ignoramus I hear about so often from my upstairs neighbor's blaring television set would it? Why, t'was but a fortnight ago that I heard this imbecile bellowing at such a volume that I nearly spilled my Earl Grey all over a particularly sublime cartoon in the New Yorker.

Oh, yeah... That'd I pay to see!

Not that walking humour vortex that is J Black tho... Unless he does an 'Owen Hart', natch...

Man, I miss the WWF days, when fake wrestling was fun to watch...

From here, to Tiannemen Square!

You know... I was flipping channels last night, and I came across USA network. There was a man on screen with his pants down, no underwear, trying to get another man to put a third, supposedly unconscious man's face on his ass.

Oh, yeah, the closet homo-eroticism of WWE is so subtle.

2006-06-06 11:15:48 AM
i think JB is funny

This is going to be awesome!

I doubt it. Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka is awesome (forgive the redundantry). Low-Ki vs. Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles will be awesome. This will be bad. It will be in the so-bad-that-it's-not-bad-it's-good category.

If he wins the World Title, WWE is dead to me. ECW "revival" included.

While we are on the topic, why aren't there more luchedores in WWE?

Luche Libre es el CONNO!

i dunno guys, jack black's acting was pretty good in early mr. show episodes. school of rock was just crap though, i wasn't expecting a kid's movie. he did well in king kong, which was not his usual slapstick role.

/i'm gonna stick my dick in these hooooooles!
