Bollinger says his wife is from Russia and he had to jump through all kinds of hoops and pay for the process of her becoming a US citizen. He feels everyone else should do the same.


So, essentially the guy is just pissed off that he had to pay so much for his Russian mail order bride when he could've just as easily received a free Mexican.

Indeed they do. Any person on American soil, who is here leagally, illegally, or imported from afghanistan is protected by the constitution today. In the past this wasn't true (think pre-civil war), but we've cleared that up now.

As for Illegal immigration, there is a quick and easy way to stop it. Fine people who employ anyone who provides a false Social Security number the equivilant of a [legal worker's] year's salary for that worker. Got an Illegal berry picker? That will be $25k. Got a construction worker? $50k.

The SS office just introduced a system where you can verify the authenticity of a SS# online so this isn't even a big inconvenience.

Once employers stop employing Illegal low-wage earners, that pool will dry up. The wages of the lowest class will rise and society as a whole will be better off for it, in the form of lower crime rates and higher education levels.

The Constitution largely provides structure and duty to the government. Amendments IX and X makes it clear that the intended default is powers and rights reside with the people, not with a government hypothetically free to deny any non-explicitly-granted rights.

Easy, have a cop stand out in front of Home depot. Let the day laborers stand there. When a potential employer comes up to hire someone who is here illegally, fine them.

For what it's worth, the following anecdote:

I recently needed to have my roof reshingled. At about the same time, some relatives of mine needed the same thing. They went with a company that bragged about how they don't hire Mexicans, and they give them all drug tests, and yadayadayada. It took a week to complete. First they delivered all the stuff and a dumpster, dropping it off in front of the garage, trapping them (well, their car) until the job was done. Then they were late getting started. Foreman didn't show up on time. Landscaping ruined. Nothing but problems.

The company I hired sent out a van full of latinos. It was like a goddamn clown car, these guys just kept pouring out of the van. I don't think any of them spoke English. Took them four hours to do the job. They cleaned everything up, didn't stomp on my flowers. I inspected the job and it's flawless.

So as far as I'm concerned, send over as many of these guys as you want. They want to work. I'd rather have a house full of illegals living next to me than a bunch of white trash any day.
