Welcome to Wildconjectureburg its sunny.

2006-05-23 4:02:12 PM
Piece is a little rambling, wouldn't you say?

I agree with the Hillary comments though.

2006-05-23 4:04:42 PM
DUH. I mean, seriously. Do people other than Republicans think that the Dems are going to honestly run Hillary?

The Republicans are positive she'll be the candidate, because the Republican press has fed that factoid to them and they're stupid.

I think Democrats know better.

Mark Warner, yo...

2006-05-23 4:06:02 PM
Yeah, the ONLY Democrats that think Hillary is going to be the Nominee are the Democrats that Dance with Red Horns and Pitchforks inside Bill O'Rielly's head.

2006-05-23 4:09:55 PM
it ain't wild fantasy that she's got the most name recognition, she's raised the most money, she's the smartest politician out there (from either side), she has the most ambition and will, and she has the most favors and markers put aside within the DNC party bigwigs.

the Ds need someone who can win. if it comes down to yet another whitebread southern governor nobody heard of or Hillary, who do you chose?

2006-05-23 4:11:41 PM
albo: another whitebread southern governor nobody heard of or Hillary, who do you chose?

You just described Mark Warner and, yeah, I choose him.

2006-05-23 4:12:27 PM
I think the only question is whether Hillary chooses to run. IMHO the Clintons have the DNC by the short hairs and the party will do whatever they want.

2006-05-23 4:14:26 PM
albo: if it comes down to yet another whitebread southern governor nobody heard of or Hillary, who do you chose?

If they want to win, the whitebread Southern governor. If they run Hillary, you're going to see the "I hate that biatch" vote come out like you wouldn't believe.

2006-05-23 4:14:27 PM
yeah, I choose him.

good luck. i just get the sense that when hillary clinton has her mind made up, nobody and nothing will stop her from achieving it.

2006-05-23 4:16:05 PM
albo: good luck.

Thanks! I think he'll be a shoe-in.

2006-05-23 4:17:40 PM
The CraneMeister: the Clintons have the DNC by the short hairs and the party will do whatever they want.

You honestly believe that?

Cause I honestly believe that George W. Bush has you by the short hairs and you'd do whatever he wanted, even if it involved sodomizing four year old boys.

Seriously, I believe that.

Oh wait, does that sound farking ridiculous? Oh...

2006-05-23 4:30:13 PM
Hillary will be the nominee.

She will also lose.

Best start putting all your hopes on 2016.

2006-05-23 4:44:14 PM
#4. She's way to right for me to vote for.

2006-05-23 4:57:45 PM
The only people I ever hear saying that she will be the nominee are GOPers. To me, it appears as if they are hoping that if they say it enough, it will come true because she'll be easy to beat.

If she indeed does get the nod, all hope is lost for the DNC not being a gaggle of complete retards. We shall see.

"Every Democratic conversation about Hillary has the same three sentences: 1: She's the frontrunner. 2: I don't like her, but I don't want to cross her, for God's sake. 3. If she's our nominee, we're going to get killed."

Never underestimate the power of republican talking points that are repeated endlessly day in and day out. Everyone saying it will bill Hillary vs McCain in 08. I doubt Hillary wants to go through the endless crap Bill did and McCain's lurch rightward to fundyville will cost him the center/moderate vote in the general election.

And you will die in fire, so get ready.

2006-05-23 5:23:33 PM
i'm stumped with all of you who think this is some kind of GOP disinformation plot. what possible influence would that have on who the Ds choose as their candidate? what purpose does it serve? it doesn't change minds.

this is just the standard political inside baseball talk that is done before a presidential election. nothing more, not some evil rovian plot.

and, frankly, you have to admit it's an honest one--she's got the most name recognition, money, infrastructure and ambition. it it were warner or someone else who had the same pluses, we'd be talking about him as the front-runner

2006-05-23 5:25:11 PM
albo,

You are a partisan Republican which makes your opinion extremely biased.

well, no shiat, lieutenant commander obvious. does that mean my assessment of her positives are wrong?

What about Al Gore? Even Ann Coulter supports him in 2008.

2006-05-23 5:29:51 PM
albo,

"well, no shiat, lieutenant commander obvious. does that mean my assessment of her positives are wrong?"

Pretty much because you believe all the crap that the GOP spews. The only people that think she is running are partisan Republicans.

2006-05-23 5:32:05 PM
albo,

And when did you sell your soul and logic to the Republican party? Did you get a good price for it?

2006-05-23 5:32:47 PM
Pretty much because you believe all the crap that the GOP spews.

*post O RLY? owl here*

The only people that think she is running are partisan Republicans.

and her supporters and campaign workers and allies in the DNC and allied organizations and the folks in the article and tons of others who respond to the positive in a poll.

just because you say it's some GOP talking point and repeat that loud enough and often enough doesn't make it the truth. what are you so worried about? we're just talking candidates for 2008. calm down

albo: this is just the standard political inside baseball talk that is done before a presidential election. nothing more, not some evil rovian plot.

No, it's the standard political masturbatory fantasies of republicans...how do you know the inside baseball talk if you're so partisan?

2006-05-23 5:34:20 PM
albo: she's got the most name recognition,

Everyone keeps saying this, but they forget to look at why:

Pollster: "Do you know who Hillary Clinton is?"
Voter A: "Yes, She's a Douche."

2006-05-23 5:34:36 PM
And when did you sell your soul and logic to the Republican party? Did you get a good price for it?

why are you so intolerant? can't someone have an opinion or philosophy or affiliation that differs from yours? or must we all be the sheep of your particular shepherd?

2006-05-23 5:36:04 PM
how do you know the inside baseball talk if you're so partisan?

because i'm interested in politics. it's easy to follow the trends and talk from both sides of the aisle because DC leaks like a sieve

albo,

"why are you so intolerant? can't someone have an opinion or philosophy or affiliation that differs from yours? or must we all be the sheep of your particular shepherd?"

Why the hell do you treat politics like it's a team sport? It's not good for the country and it is not about tolerance.

So you read Daily Kos and all the other blogs and newsites that are blatently Liberal every day, you have a liberal blog/news/story that says this? Cause I haven't seen anything.

2006-05-23 5:39:21 PM
Why the hell do you treat politics like it's a team sport?

because party politics exists to allow persons with similar viewpoints govern a nation. that involves elections. elections require a winner. winning requires taking actions that allow you to win.

ok, listen. i'm not saying hillary will be your candidate. i'm just observing in which areas she is leading. see my post above. is it heresy to observe the basic facts that she has raised a lot of money, is keeping a high profile in potential election hot spots like iowa, and is a woman with a record of ambition?

2006-05-23 5:47:57 PM
I hate her, and I hate to think about the Republican candidate that is going to make me vote for her.

Ann Coulter knows if Al Gore were up again he has a higher chance of losing than 'an un-named democrat'.

The reason 'an unnamed democrat' does so well in the polls vs anyone else (e.g 2000) is because once the person is an open candidate the RNC does what it does best, trashes and attacks the hell out of them.

The democrats must appeal to what Americans want without relying on attacking the opposition, and they must do it better (+1million charisma). As well have found out in the past character assassination is what the baddies do best (John McCain's bastard child).

Yeah. Cuz the DNC never, ever attacks or smears anyone, and God knows that without the GOP-generated bad press their candidates would never do or say anything to make themselves look bad....

2006-05-23 7:43:08 PM
Okay, fine. If you can't win with Hilary, and so many people hate her guts (me included), WHY THE HELL ARE PEOPLE STICKING WITH HER? Switch to someone else! Say, Feingold!

2006-05-23 8:24:08 PM
I think we need to all calm the fark down and take a step back. It's still really really early in the process. Can anyone tell me who the front-runner for the Democratic nomination was at this point 4 years ago? I'm going to guess that it wasn't John Kerry. No one outside of the Carolinas had even heard of John Edwards back then. No one could even guess that Wesley Clark was thinking about running. No one knew that Howard Dean was going to crack. We have no idea what is going to happen in the next 2 years.
