I have about 4,000 CCI 200 Large Rifle Primers in the armory in the basement ("armory" being "that place where the old wine racks were, and now holds the ammo cans, gun safe, and a huge amount of Costco toilet paper and paper towels").

Of course, there's the 10 pounds or so of IMR 4064 powder there too.

150k is a bit much, I'd say...I know some IPSC types who have around 10-15k on hand at any time, and use them up in a matter of months.

I'm curious what kind of detonators were found in this particular case.

Hey racist douchenozzle. Have you ever read the Qur'an cover to cover, or were you just looking for an out-of-context quote that justifies your bigotry? Check out the Old Testament - it's full of similar verses.

If you'd read more of the Qur'an, you'd see hundreds of verses about Allah's benevolence, wisdom, and mercy. You'd see that Muslims are supposed to tolerate people of other religions, and realize that everyone who is doing good is doing good for God.

Absolutely agree. Of course, Israel consistantly closes the border and blocks shipments of food, medicine, and other critical supplies into Palestine. Maybe they'd spend more on bread if there were more bread to buy.

Well if you can find me even 5 quotes from Jesus , christianity's prophet, that promote violence I'd love to see them. I can find two myself that could be obstrued as some how supporting violence. I can find you more than 30 from Muhammad. Get over it, I'm not arguing this anymore. Jesus loved peace, Muhammad loved war. (and raping his slaves of war, taking any woman he wanted, beheading prisoners of war, and marrying a 13 year old)

Just because at one point Muhammad supports peace doesn't make his murders and rapes okay.

Some people seem to believe that any mention of Israel is an invatitation to post every random article that portrays Israel in a bad light. Before this thread is over there's a good chance we will have people mentioning the "Jennin Massacre", the USS Liberty, blaming the Mossad for 9/11 and maybe even the occasional claim about how Israel is developing viruses that genetically target Arabs.

This sounds like someone to whom the words "historical context" will mean nothing.


All religious texts deal with social issues that are relavent at the time, and they're a direct response to socioeconomic pressures. Yes, the Qur'an has a lot of verses about violence and death. But they are DESCRIPTIVE, not PROSCRIPTIVE. They were written at a certain place, at a certain time, for a certain reason, and they can't be haphazardly generalized like you're trying. You're just looking for a quick and easy bash, and I won't let you have it.

The Jenin Massacre! Because I can't think of any other group of people in the Middle East who would exploit a tremendous tragedy to manipulate international opinion. And use that opinion to try to carve their own state out of land that "belongs" to someone else. Nope, it's only the Palestinians.

If you want to believe that muslims are sussposed to live as Muhammad did you can take that any way you want. But yes most his things about violence and war are reference to certain battles he waged. I concede that it should not be interpreted as supporting violence today (but it is). But you can not dissregard what Muhammad says about women because that is PROSCRIPTIVE. Anyways Im done. Like Christians are fond of saying - those rules were written to try to protect women from social problems at the time. They are no longer useful and should be abolished. The problem is that people don't want to accept that religion needs to evolve with human values and knowledge.

Frankly, I think the Qur'an allows for this about as well as any other religious text. If we take the verses about God's wisdom, benevolence, mercy, and justice seriously, and think that those are qualities to be emulated - well, life couldn't go on in any part of the world the way it does now, I think that's certain.

Look, I think everyone who isn't a complete idiot realizes that the vast majority of the Islamic world isn't trying to kill everyone else and that the Koran (mostly) instructs its followers not to commit random acts of violence against innocents. The problem seems to be that not all of Mohammed's followers *got* that memo. As a result, you've got a small number of people (proportionally speaking) using Islam to justify truly evil stuff. Of course, a small proportion of a billion and a half people is still a whole lot of jihadis trying to blow up sidewalk cafes, and it sure doesn't help that a lot of the "officially" Islamic countries, like for example Syria and Saudi Arabia, really suck.

Most knowledgable Muslims know that Bin Laden is a heretic. He's actually similar to an Islamic Martin Luther. He wants to decentralize and democratize the Muslim religion, basically because he thinks he should have the authority to issue fatwahs.

That doesn't mean there aren't serious problems running through the Muslim faith right now. But I'd say we're seeing the same problems with Christian fundamentalism, Hindu fundamentalism (Sati anyone?) and even atheistic fundamentalism (China's repression of religion.) This is not an issue the Muslims are facing alone - we all have to confront the fact that our way of life, the constant war, destruction, and slaughter, cannot go on as it is without ruining the Earth.

They are in Qalansweh. Which means they are Isreali citizens in Israel. They are not under a blockade.

And I wouldn't covet the Christian heroes too much. Martin Luther was almost as virulent of an anti-Semite as Bin Laden. If you want to trace back the line of the Jewish Holocaust, it most certainly goes through him.
