You'd think that given the chance to write something on the side of Air Force One you'd think of something better than "Still Free".

i've met a few graffiti guys. main theme is that they are pissed that they can't make money while still being punks that ruin property.

RTFA. The video's real, but the plane in it is not AF1.

"I wanted to do something culturally significant, wanted to create a real pop-culture moment"

You failed. Wonder who got this onto ABC now tho, the video's been around for a while. It'll be forgotten soon enough.

Your_VCR;

The best thing to do upon meeting a 'graffiti guy' is to cut his throat and piss on him as he bleeds out.

When I read the original article on Fark a few days ago, i knew then it was a fake.

Didn't realize it was enough of a "phenomenon" that it's debunking would make mainstream news though.

Was also looking at it from my computer on base so i couldn't read any comments posted. Too lazy to look for a link to the "O"... did people actually believe this?

405 The Movie

Much better and didn't require a rich guy to rent and paint a 747.

Seems like a lot of money and effort for a week pay-off. "Still free"? lame.

Yes. Because truthful articulation is idiocy to real idiots. They are property ruining punks, there can be no dispute about that.

2006-04-22 4:00:13 AM
"Still free" sounds like a bad marketting campaign..

..oh wait, it is.

2006-04-22 4:07:08 AM
They painted an entire 747 to look like Air Force One?

/Lame
/Harrison Ford is not amused

For an encore, can we spray paint this on AF1?

(you know, the V for Vendetta references have dropped off altogether too fast.)

First off a week is 7 days. Secondly, the payoff for this stunt is huge for Ecko. Advertising campaigns that reach the number of people that have already viewed this video cost companies millions of dollars. This is great advertising for them, AND it will most likely increase their street credibility among the punk kids they market their clothes to.

Next scapegoat for all our problems, after this Illegal Alien Menace thing ruins a few million lives: Graffiti Terrorists.

2006-04-22 4:30:04 AM
It is called "tagging", you retards, and the Secret Service would already know it was fake, without needing to check.

Really? None at all? That's all it takes to win the argument?

Between the Dundas West and Keele subway stations on Toronto's bloor line, there's some of the most interesting graffiti in the city (albeit some of the more "mainstream" stuff).

And that's a legal wall. So don't give me that crap about them being property ruining punks, it's an insult to the entire art and culture, and betrays your ability to be openminded.

The video fooled me.

2006-04-22 4:33:43 AM
I just farted - Sorry !

awesome, i liked both the spray painting of airforce 1 and that 405 movie, fun stuff!

I think this is the interesting part of the article:
"After the video began circulating on the Web on Tuesday, the Air Force checked to see whether the plane had been vandalized."

They make it sound like it could actually happen and not be noticed right away. I thought that plane was under constant protection and supervision.

The fact that it is a hoax doesn't change the spirit and message of it, no matter how cliche it may sound. It's pretty damn American to poke fun at authority.

I blame that on the fact that the movie sucked balls.

I agree. I would hate to live anywhere that you could not make fun of anyone, without risking death or incarceration (however the fark you spell it).

Thought that the first time I saw it, loved it the second time I saw it. Very strange....

And that's why it is ok that some people are perceived as overreacting to what they see as threats to freedom of expression. I'd rather have people too vigilant about it than be complacent and lose it gradually when they were not paying attention.

No. He didn't fail. He'll still have those thousands of backlink "soon enough." Over 187 News outlets are linking to him; An incredible success by measure.

Backlinks = SERPs.

So what message do you convey by fake spray painting Air Force One? Seems they would have done better by holding a big banner in front of the White House.

Oh my God... I think I remember seeing that 405 thing during like... my first year on the Internet. Damn that was a long time ago...

congratulations,, weve all just been advertised too..

ive got to admit,, theres a sort of devious brilliance in stealing the symbols of genuine rebellion to sell shiat..

viral marketing = trick people into spreading your ad hand-to-hand;; makes it more legit 'n' stuff..
