Howard Dean must have visited this site:

So Democrats are farking morans too. This is news?

This'll get real interesting once it hits liter-ville.

2006-04-18 11:45:43 PM
The DHS guy was a Democrat? Ya don't say...

Well, my point of view on this has not changed. Let me just repeat the exchange I had when this first broke:

2006-04-05 03:30:01 AM Juansmith
I have to ask...

How do we "GOP" from "some random perverted government bureaucrat"?

2006-04-05 03:35:28 AM sithon
Deputy press secretary= political appointee
therefore a republcan

2006-04-05 03:35:38 AM subsailor
Juansmith: How do we "GOP" from "some random perverted government bureaucrat"?

Well, given the whole department was created (and staffed by appointees from) a GOP administration, I'd be willing to bet he's a Republican apointee...

/just a guess...

2006-04-05 04:01:55 AM Juansmith
subsailor

Granted. I'm just saying... "Deputy Press Secretary" is low enough on the food chain that you'd really have to reach to make this about Bush or even the GOP.

This guy is just "some guy". In this case, "some pedophile".

Suggesting that this guy is somehow a representative of the GOP just makes the submitter sound like an asshat.

2006-04-05 04:04:59 AM cruci fiction
Juansmith

I think the point is that being a criminal and knowing Bush is basically the only qualification for a prime GOP job these days.

2006-04-05 04:08:11 AM subsailor
Juansmith
: this guy is somehow a representative of the GOP

I'd just simply say "more of the same"...

/could be said about politicians in general...
________________________________________________________

So, there you have it.

Now that I know he's a Democrat, I guess I have to say...

HIS POLITICAL PARTY IS NOT FARKING RELEVANT!

Howard Dean, all of the above posters, and anyone else who wants to make this a policial issue can go fark themselves.

/and I'm spent

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone would just ignore the (D) and (R) after a politician's name and rather focus on what asshats they (almost) ALL are and vote them all out of office?

/and then I woke up...

2006-04-19 12:26:46 AM
There are a few levels here.

First, I don't know that a twenty-two year old registration is particularly persuasive as to someones current partisan affiliation.

Second, attempting to impute wrongdoing to the administration based upon this guy's actions is indeed rather silly.

Third, it does show that someone is asleep at the switch in the personnel department of the DHS which doesn't inspire much confidence if they are hiring the people who are trying to protect us from the terrists.

2006-04-19 12:39:48 AM
Wow, Howard Dean say something gross and extreme to his own chagrin? Surely you jest?

/DRTFA

2006-04-19 2:14:33 AM
Both parties suck these days. I mean, really really suck. It's frustrating not to have a pragmatic choice.

2006-04-19 2:46:00 AM
So, dean's not really guility of partisanism, just of making a really unfunny joke. Not offensive type non-funny. Just unfunny overall. Wonder if he has any TomKitten jokes to make.

2006-04-19 3:03:15 AM
Although it's not really related, whenever someone makes racist comments with statistics to back it up, it's usually a heterosexual Christian white male. They seem less interested in judging people based on statistics once I start introducing them as "Billy the Child molester," based off of hetorosexual Christian white males being the number-one demographic of child molesters.

2006-04-19 4:02:06 AM
I didn't know a child molesters political affiliation was relevent..besides that, I believe the perv in question is an appointee and therefore the odds are quite high hes a farking Repube. Someone commenting lower on the original posted link page calls the perv a Dem..which doesn't legitimize what party the perv affiliates with.

What was the farking question?

2006-04-19 4:59:05 AM
Um...where'd Chairman Dean say or imply "Republicans molest children" there?

/shut up Ann
//you too Malkin
///as a matter of fact, SHUT UP O'Reilly

2006-04-19 5:41:51 AM
I swear to God these asshats that post about 'straw man arguments' etc. drive me nuts. Wow, we get it, you have the fallacy website bookmarked. Perhaps you realize that in a real debate, saying that you know the type of argument (fallacy or not) the opposing side is making gets you nothing, not even a cookie. The point is that assuming Dean was knocking the GOP isn't a stretch. It's not like he's got a track record for being mature about his feelings about Republicans.
And undiluted, that's really not related, nor is it factual. So what's your farking point?

2006-04-19 7:05:56 AM

Howard Dean made a retarded joke but didn't say republicans were molestors

Some points:

1. He was trying to slam Republicans: "We (Democrats) don't molest anybody." The alternative would then be that Republicans do.

2. The DHS employee isn't a child molestor (although it appears he would have become one given the chance).

3. Howard Dean is a schmuck.

1. He was trying to slam Republicans: "We (Democrats) don't molest anybody." The alternative would then be that Republicans do.

Republican sex scandals are pretty funny, disgusting, outrageous, shocking. Oh yea, and they get such a great reaction from the righties.

Add it to the list along with my other personal favorite that "Republicans want to take your house" after the Supreme Court emminent domain case. Of course he failed to mention that all the justices appointed by democrats voted in favor of allowing the government to seize your house for commercial purposes

2006-04-19 9:11:56 AM
You know that Dean is effective when you see so much effort to discredit him by the right. This was an ill-advised throw-away quip. The sort of thing that if it was in a Leno monologue, people would snicker at and then forget. But when Dean says it, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! Call out the loony farm!

The vice president of the United States of America told one of the Nation's leading Democratic Senators to 'Go fark yourself' on the floor of the Senate. I am sure that the same standard that the Right holds Dean to in this quip is applied as assiduously to Dick Cheney. All I have to do is to stroll over to Free Republic or NRO to see all of the cartoon images of Dick in a straightjacket, right? Well if not for that comment, what about his obvious lies "we found the WMD trailers" or just nutty comments "the insurgency is in its last throes"?

Face it--Dean is hurting the GOP, and they are trying everything they can (like attributing this quip as a smear against the GOP) to delegitimize him.

2006-04-19 9:13:22 AM
Dean would be really effective if he wasn't so ineffective.

Did you actually use a "But, but, Clinton"? I mean, except as sarcasm, I thought wingnuts had given up on that meme? I guess it is true, the whackos become self parodies, given enough rope.

Skleenar You know that Dean is effective when you see so much effort to discredit him by the right.

Dean helps Republicans by simply existing as the DNC chairman. The reason the right attacks him so much is that they score points when they point out the the odd things he says.

Err, no, he didn't. That's not even remotely a "But Clinton." (and note: a "But Clinton" is in fact well-justified whenever some asshat is making the claim that Bush the Worst President Ever(c), and backing that claim up with something that Clinton did. Jesus, does "ever" not extend back more than 6 years?)

//funny, I still have not heard any rightie claim that they support equal rights for all Americans. Not one. Zero. I find that scary. That and the "But, but, Clinton" crowd.

I support equal rights for all US citizens. But, then, I'm not sure if you would consider me a rightie - I left the Republican Party for the Libertarians when Bush won the nomination.

helix400: Dean helps Republicans by simply existing as the DNC chairman. The reason the right attacks him so much is that they score points when they point out the the odd things he says.

Well, by that logic, GWB is one of the biggest supporters of the Democratic party there is.

Err, no, he didn't. That's not even remotely a "But Clinton."

Uh, yeah, he did. Since the last President before Clinton was Jimmy Carter, and that was 26 years ago, it HAS to be a "But, Clinton.."

ZipBeep: /Libertarian, now. Even YOU are sick of the Bush administration???

I've been sick of the Bush admin since before they took power. I've never supported them - though many have made that assumption simply because I have little tolerance for the Democrats.

Then maybe it's because you haven't really wanted to hear it. This "rightie" supports equal rights for all Americans... it's why many of us are so opposed to racial quotas in workplaces and schools and/or hate crimes laws.

As to the topic at hand... Howard Dean's not healthy for American politics, and has a habit of saying stupid and hatefull things. This is not news, nor is it new.

I've never heard any rightie say anything else. Maybe it's one of those things that goes without saying. I've heard plenty of lefties say they support equal rights for all, plus extras for others.

Just because you are partisian, does not mean Dr. Dean is bad for American politics. He has the guts to speak the truth, even if it makes Bush look like a liar or a fool. That is not bad for America, that is good for America. Bush is mearly the President, not a King or God (or Son of God, as he likes to claim).

So, while some of what Dr. Dean says is hyperbole, it is grounded in fact and makes a point, unlike that asshat Melhman the repubs trot out onto Fox.

If you supported equal rights for all Americans you would support affirmative action (which is different than quotas, nice try), and for that matter, what is wrong with hate crime laws?

Hate Crime Laws proctect Americans and provide greater security for minorities and oppressed. Why does that scare you?

Remember, Equal Rights for All Americans means the privileged have to give up some perks. There is no free lunch, and we will all pay for what has become of this Once Great Nation.
