OH my mother in law worked at a horse farm and William Shanter came to check out ao horse he was thinking of buying. SHe said she recognized him from someplace. He said "Yes, I'm Captain Kirk from Start Trek." She said "I've never seen Star Trek...OMG YOU'RE TJ HOOKER!" He'd never heard of anyone who had not seen Star Trek.

2006-03-22 12:06:16 PM
How old is his hair?

2006-03-22 12:10:12 PM
Wow, he doesn't look 75. And he seems to have a lot of energy for the average 75-year-old.

I work for William Shatner and submitted this with a better headline so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies.

I genuinely thought he was dead already. "The More You Know", I guess.

2006-03-22 2:36:05 PM
And to think that at the end of each Boston Legal episode he smokes a cigar and drinks scotch.

More power to him.

I loved the show "How William Shatner changed the World".

This guy is my hero. If only I coudl find a way to make a living off of being I_C_Weener. I mean, making money being me. William Shatner did it, and I admire him for it.

He looks better now than when he did TJ Hooker.

One can only hope that he lives long enough to make Free Enterprise 2.

I did not see the show, was it really worth two hours? According to my tv listings it was on the History CHannel, I assumed it was a joke.

Thinking the exact same thing.

Oddly enough, so does Heather Locklear...

The bad thing about being William Shatner, is that every birthday, everyone always brings you the same old gift ...

I just saw Nimoy on a commercial and was shocked at badly he had aged since last I saw him. The problem is that Shatner set the bar darned high for the Trekkie aging process. (They are both 75) Takei is right there with Shatner, at a spry 70.

My favorite William Shatner role?
William Shatner.
/Best guest/episode ever on/of Space Ghost Coast to Coast ("In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" [yes, like the Allman Brothers song])

2006-03-22 2:48:11 PM
Shatner is god.
Or close enough for me. One chap I'd definately have on any 'most wanted' party guest list.

It was worth it, not as a tribute to him, but satire about himself and a reliving of the Star Trek predictions of life. He was good in it. He is awesome as a charicature about himself.

It was really an explanation of Gene Roddenberry's vision and the reality that he portrayed versus the current reality. PCs v. PCs. Automatic doors. Etc...

Loves me some Shatner. I like anybody who can poke fun at himself, and Bill most definitely does that.

As far as his looks, he's had to have had some cutting and filling. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Go Bill!

We share the same birthday, so every year I look forward to my friends sending me funny clips of him. I hope I look that good when I am 75.

How William Shatner Changed the World cracked me up. Bill is a really funny guy.

It's Shatner's world. We're just crashing for a while.

2006-03-22 2:54:25 PM
Yeah I watched "How William Shatner Changed The World". It was good. He's a very likeable guy. Nice too to see some of the old cast members chime in. I thought it would be a waste of time but I ended up liking every minute of it.

'Has Been' is a great album. Really. Yeah Ben Folds is all over it as producer, but the lyrics on some of the original material are haunting. Listen to 'That's Me Trying', 'What Have You Done', of 'It Hasn't Happened Yet'.

Great Stuff.

/was not a Shatner fan until this album came out
//no, really..couldn't stand the guy
///yes, I consider myself a Trekker

2006-03-22 2:58:14 PM
Wow, he looks great for 75. I'd say he looks a good 15-20 years younger. Aside from that, I love the Denny Crane character.

adadkbar93: Takei is right there with Shatner, at a spry 70.

It's all those facials he gets. Gives him a youthful glow.
