I wish I could move to suspend greenlighting of blogs and op-eds on fark.

Seriously, fark IS the op-ed/blog. Bantering about someone else's rants is like fondling a dead dog.

carry on

Fondle a lot of dead dogs, do you?

I second that.

It's a lot of fun, and with 30% fewer fleas?

That's pretty much the topic of this thread, yes, bdub77. What, did you want to talk about clavicles?

Last year, MoveOn endorsed the Jon Corzine for Governor of New Jersey (who won), Tim Kaine for Governor of Virginia (who won), and rallied against Governor Schwarzenegger's ballot measures in California's special election (which were all defeated).

On the other hand, that "LoseOn.org" headline is pretty damned clever.

2006-03-09 4:28:00 PM
I'm a liberal and even I find MoveOn's positions juvenile at times. MoveOn is a fine example of a group marginalizing itself because no one in it would make the effort to package its message for a wider audience.

2006-03-09 4:28:23 PM
Meh. Once it hits the main page, it's guaranteed to fan the flames, which keeps the page view count nice and high. Let us not forget that Fark is supposed to be a money-making venture.

2006-03-09 4:28:59 PM
"All they do is take money from liberals and waste it on hopeless left-wing causes -- it's like a tax on stupidity."

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That line made my day.

Looking at the big picture, I'd say every American is losing at the moment.

\unless you work for Haliburton, of course.

2006-03-09 4:54:19 PM
Perhaps this is a paid link for a book advertisement, which this "blog" clearly "is."

Riddle me this, Boy Blunder: How is bantering about someone else's rants like fondling a dead dog? Answer: Because if you do it long enough, everyone starts to smell bad.

The article makes a good point. We should all just give up and start parroting GOP talking points like good little sheep.

MoveOn started as an advocacy group to "move on" past the Clinton Impeachements.

Then they had the nerve to drive the 2000 election results months, if not years, past the SCOTUS ruling, independant recounts, etc.

MoveOn indeed!

So, the point is that MoveOn is always on the losing side, except when they're not?

jarrett: So, the point is that MoveOn is always on the losing side, except when they're not?

So far they've always been on the losing side in national politics. They've lucked out by backing liberal candidates or issues in three of the most liberal states in the country. Hardly an impressive record.

Virginia is one of the most liberal states. Virginia? The home of both these guys:

You're funny!!!!

Well... many of you seem to be dreading this hitting the front page... so as the first liter posting in this thread, I wish to set the pace for all of us who have decided to not pay 5 dollars this month in a positive way.

Heh. This reminds me of that episode of south park where they wanted to change the city flag, and the KKK joined in on the argument, so Jimbo convinced the KKK to go to the other side because whoever is on the opposite side of the KKK will always win.

2006-03-09 7:12:02 PM
This is like the 2nd or 3rd blog posting to be greenlit about how liberals are all losers as proven by the Cuellar primary.

BladBoy: Virginia is one of the most liberal states. Virginia? The home of both these guys:

last I checked Virginia was a red state in at least the last two presidential elections.

The CraneMeister: You mean there are TWO conservatives in the WHOLE STATE?

I realize you're being obtuse, but if they're such a liberal state, explain why their two Senators are Republicans, or why 8 of their 11 Congressmen are Republican.

2006-03-09 7:47:53 PM
The CraneMeister

Dear Dumbass,

Northern cities notwithstanding, we are not a liberal state. However, even the conservatives here make fun of Pat Robertson.

Sincerely,
Virginia

Morans all of you.

2006-03-09 8:23:31 PM
We have a president whose foreign relations have alienated our allies, help spread nuclear proliferation with empty threats, ruined our credibility with other nations, may lead to an Iraqi civil war, and left a terrorist breeding ground in Afghanistan.

Domestically we have record deficits, one of the most corrupt governments in US history, and a government full of incompetent cronies.

Yea, I don't think the folks at Moveon.org are the losers in this one.

2006-03-09 8:27:51 PM
Morans some of you.

But not you. See.... I like you. You'd never side with a group that sends you 28 e-mails a day.

2006-03-09 10:11:47 PM
MoveOn kinda lost me when they came out with that ad campaign calling Bush "Smirky McHitlerChimp".

You folks do realize, this is the most mainstream of the left-wing netroots organizations, don't you? These are the ones who try to be a bit centrist and compromise to some degree.

<b>Brubold:</b> <i>Fixed it for you</i>

You're supposed to use <strike> </strike> on the original text, so I don't have to scroll up to see what you fixed, or <b> </b> on what you add. I'm lazy.

Ahh, this headline just points out that to the extremist right-wing nutjobs, America's future is just a game, in which they score points against their rival team.

That's the kind of shiatty thinking that has led our nation to this sad state of in which we find ourselves.
