No, perhaps iPodNes next? If it ever exists I will be most happy.

Yay, that's exactly what the iPod needs... more elitism.

/MAMEdev is tends to collectively be a pack of jerks

Waiting for ipodZNES.

I'm waiting for Apple to die a horrible, horrible death.

I give the iPodMame project the following slogan for free.. "iPodMame, because the iPod is so overpriced and trendy, you'd feel ripped off if you couldnt get it to do anything else of interest."

2006-03-08 9:22:29 PM
iPodKawaks would be nice, but I guess I could learn to get back into MAME.

But my question is, how the hell am I going to play Vampire Savior on an iPod?

2006-03-08 9:23:51 PM
too busy watching pr0n on my 5g to play games.....

2006-03-08 9:24:29 PM
If they can get it to run Nesticle I'm in.

2006-03-08 9:28:23 PM
I fail to see how this would work well. The iPod has, what, four or 5 buttons, the average arcade game has about 8 buttons. You do the math.

I'm waiting for Apple to die a horrible, horrible death.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Even it it were a quick and painless death, you'd most likley suffocate first.

What's the matter MoriyaMug, did they mock your grammar?

I haven't caved in and bought an ipod yet, but being able to play all my old Genesis games anywhere is damn convincing. Mmmm...video games all day at work...uh, on breaks only, of course.

My wife is a high school teacher; she's not thrilled about this prospect. There's enough problems in schools with ipods as it is.

Average? Take every game that mame runs and I'm sure the average is way below 8. Unless you're counting the 2nd players buttons as well.

Just look at all the 4 button (5 if you count start) neo*geo goodness.

I should do a ah-ah quaker guy....

I have a Palm... and let's see... and I repeat myself every thread when the iPod is the subjects....

I can listen to mp3 (and that includes the built-in speaker),wma, watch videos, all the standard Palm stuff, TONS of games, word processing, tv remote, any utility that's out there, built-in camera, etc. etc. etc.

Do I really have to say more?

/aside that WHY? just WHY? are people getting these overpriced limited gadgets?

/Palm PDAs = the smallest laptops, no boot time, long battery life, expandable with SD cards, typing is a charm with the optional keyboard, etc. etc. etc. and fits in my pockets.

Ch1naMan, hell yeah it did. i would play for hours, until the orange guy turned all lightning speed. you could bomb him back to the stone age, but eventually he'd slip by you. fie upon him!

2006-03-08 10:33:16 PM
MoriyaMug

Considering all the whiny biatches they have to put up with, I think I can forgive them for getting a little testy from time to time.

yorgle

That is the coolest, most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

2006-03-08 10:34:21 PM
uh oh, fragMasterFlash, is this going to turn into 8-bit appreciation competition? while excitebike was pretty fun, i think rc pro-am could take it in a walk-off.

2006-03-08 10:41:34 PM
Dmala, octopus_red:

Thanks! hehehehe. I plan on making more cabinets; with Ms. Pac-Man side art, as well as other game styles. I'll be putting PDF of the sideart and templates on my webspace somewhere...

2006-03-08 10:44:03 PM
I'll wait for IPodMess.

2006-03-08 10:50:51 PM
Only PacMan and Ms. PacMan confirmed? I'll stick to playing pacman on my Sidekick and wait until I figure out how to hack an ipod and throw some NES games on it.

Course, if they get Sinistar, I just might be more interested.

2006-03-08 10:52:53 PM
And HarrisonBergeron - Burgertime was this cute little game not unlike Donkey Kong (original) where you have to run over parts of burgers to stack them on top of each other. You were chased around by sausages and hard boiled eggs and had salt/pepper as weapons.

I love that game. Had it for intellivision as a kid.

2006-03-08 11:08:26 PM
safeinsane: Burgertime

Holy shiat, BurgerTime! That game was so freakin horrible! So bad, it was fun to play merely to witness it's incredible suckiness.

RC Pro Am would be awesome on the iPod, though. Easy to control. Seems like a logical combo.

Kinda like Mappy, eh? Same idea but fun as hell.

HarrisonBergeron
Right on. Maybe I can get my hands on some more games by then!

2006-03-08 11:16:51 PM
That is so cool! But I think you have to put Linux on your ipod to get it to work.

2006-03-08 11:17:28 PM
I've seen Mario for NES running on an IPOD and its HELLA slow. Emulation Layer on IPOD? yea right. I have a PSP and i run SNES games allthe time... Earthbound NEone?? If you want games just get a PSP, it can do the music, and the firmware updates are making it better all the time, GPS next, and cellphone after is my guess. They already have mic's out for it

2006-03-08 11:23:33 PM
I'm a game designer and my company looked into games for the iPod.

Mame isn't the only way, and you will soon see some cool stuff come out.

I've said enough already.

2006-03-08 11:26:44 PM
A little about myself: I hate cheating. But I love RC Pro-Am. A paradox? Only if you consider the orange car a cheat. Some might say that the orange car is just part of the challenge. A car that, on a whim, hits a top speed that is roughly triple that of the other racers.

I say it's a cheap way to get more mileage out of the game. But that's probably because I never did finish track 24. Most of the time I couldn't finish track 22. Track 22, you five-lapped, oil-soaked whore. There aren't enough roll cages in the world to express how I feel about you.

Thanks a lot, Rare. It's easy to hate you now. Now you wear the face of the evil computing empire. But back then, you were just a little British software company, and I was maladroit and naive.

2006-03-08 11:35:07 PM
Games on an iPod, why? Its like the Ti86 hottness of the 90's now I guess. Nothing more fun than playing 8 bit games on a 1" x 2" screen. Yippeee

2006-03-08 11:40:22 PM
Aww, I thought this was about a MAME for PCs that emulates the iPod, not the other way around!
