Then she should take the Sniper rifle she bought her son back!

2006-02-13 4:00:39 PM
I remember that--not only bought him a rifle, but broke the law by giving it to him when he was a minor. Heh heh.

2006-02-13 4:01:04 PM
Aren't they a couple of anti-gun whackjobs or something?

2006-02-13 4:06:04 PM
Wow. So that's the level the debate has dropped to. "He's an idiot". Brilliant point, Einstein.

2006-02-13 4:10:13 PM
The resolution passed by Congress on September 14th, 2001 gives the Vice President the power to shoot people at his own discretion.

2006-02-13 4:12:59 PM
I heard it was the start of the administration's new push for tort reform.

2006-02-13 4:15:39 PM
the bradys should now work on outlawing 28 gauge shotguns loaded with number 8 shot. they're deadly!

2006-02-13 4:25:08 PM
albo: they're deadly!

Those poor little birds.

Hunted...

Plucked...

*gasp* EATEN.

The violence must be stopped against them.

Aren't they a couple of anti-gun whackjobs or something?

Well, Jim Brady was the guy who became a gun control activist after becoming partially paralyzed for life after taking a bullet for Reagan... so I wouldn't call him a whackjob by any means.

PicoDelSol: taking a bullet for Reagan

You make it sound like he chose to do this.

Dick Cheney hates these cans!

In other words, he was a conservative until hot lead tore through his brain, making him a liberal.

Dick Cheney? An idiot?
That's redundant. And redundant.

2006-02-13 4:50:49 PM
My father was a secret service agent for over 20 years and knew Brady personally. Most of what was said was that he was an asshat.

I hate Bush. I dislike Cheney. Liberal, Liberal, Liberal.

This whole thing is stupid. A guy got sprayed in the face with stray buckshot. He'll live, he isn't hideously disfigured, story over. Leave them alone.

Apparently, they aren't.

Cheney is an idiot.
Guns are bad.
Seems simple enough.

2006-02-13 4:53:02 PM
I'm becoming more and more convinced that most gun controllers are people who hate and fear loud noises more than anything else. They are terrified of being shocked.

2006-02-13 4:53:10 PM
"My father was a secret service agent for over 20 years and knew Brady personally. Most of what was said was that he was an asshat."

I think that's an unfair portrait of your father.

Go to the museum in Centralia, Illinois. They have an entire room shrine for Jim Brady.

Sarah and Jim Brady: Go back to obscurity you elitist, hypocritical farks.

2006-02-13 4:55:04 PM
Hinckley had no history of mental illness. He could buy a gun just like any of us can.

And if he couldn't buy one legally, do you think he would have just given up his dream of shooting Reagan (for Jodie)?

Hell no.

Gun prohibition sucks and don't be lumping me in with any misguided group or individual that advocates taking your guns and proclaiming him/herself a liberal.

SpinStopper: They have an entire shrine for Jim Brady.

I believe there is a room named for him in the White House... and he isn't even dead yet.

2006-02-13 4:55:38 PM
Well to be fair Cheney was hoping Jody Foster would give him a second chance.

2006-02-13 4:56:19 PM
Yup. Nothing like guns to bring out the best in the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, right-wing element 'round Fark.

BTW, people do tend to change their tone on guns once they've been shot by a batshiat loony.

2006-02-13 4:56:38 PM
Why the hate for Sarah & Jim Brady? Or is shooting you buddy in the face one of those amendment rights?

2006-02-13 4:57:14 PM
Dear, Mrs. Brady

I'm sorry your husband has brain damage. But, he was working for Reagan anyway, he couldn't have lost much.

Sincerely,
Myself

P.S. You're a coont.

I advocate taking your guns and I proclaim myself a liberal. You are SO out of the club.

Idiots shouldn't be allowed to have guns.

[image from askmen.com too old to be available]

or armies for that matter...

from accompanying article from the GIS search:
AskMen.com (pops)

"It's way too early to see what kind of President he'll be, we know he'll push his policies of working closely with democrats, localized power, less bureaucracy, lower taxes, a stronger military, and limited government. Maybe he should change the W. in George W. Bush to R. for Ronald Reagan, because of his strangely familiar political throwback policies."

Tyler sez:
"Yeaaah, how's that working out for you?"

Yep, they're much more likely to want to arm themselves to protect themselves just in case another batshiat loony decides to go on another spree.

I just can't get my head around why not having guns is so disastrous to Americans. It's the same as fox hunting over here.

2006-02-13 4:59:40 PM
The Vice President can spray me with little quail shot from 30 feet away, the stories from that and the flicking the VP with crap about it would make up for the pain.

2006-02-13 5:00:10 PM
Sarah Brady became wealthy because her husbands injury. Her bodyguards carry guns, and she is licensed to carry. It's only the simple uneducated peasants (the rest of us) that can't be trusted. Her quote to the Washington press corp (barely reported, but enthusiastically received) was "We can't have a true socialism in this country until those that oppose us have been disarmed." This sums up the true reason she wants self defense outlawed in America.

2006-02-13 5:00:25 PM
Are they trying to help the Republican party? It is this type of people that cause my father, who believes in almost every bit of the Democrate platform, to vote Republican. He and others are scared that if the Democrates win, the whole country will be run by nutjobs like these. There are liberals out there who are against gun control, but these people get all the publicity.

If youre innocent, you shouldnt mind a shotgun blast to the face

2006-02-13 5:01:16 PM
I wish my country had politicians who shot lawyers in the face. The news might be worth watching for a change.

2006-02-13 5:01:57 PM
Right, and the RNC wouldn't already have 14 versions of Flash movies all ready available for download if Kerry/Dean/Edwards/Either Clinton had shot their friend in the face?

Let's get real for a moment.

2006-02-13 5:02:01 PM
Am I the only one? Ever since this happened I've been thinking, why couldn't it have been Scalia?

Sarah and Jim Brady waste a whole press release...

They have been a full-time press conference road show for over ten years. But how often do they make the news? I'd hardly call this wasted.

2006-02-13 5:02:03 PM
I don't think Brady actually took a bullet for Regan. He happened to get in the way. However, if you watch the video, there is a secret service agent in a light blue suit who turned and faced the gun, putting as much of his body in between Hinkley and Reagan. He ends up getting blown back off his feet about a yard or two. That is someone taking a bullet for someone else. I couldn't imagine my "instinctive" reaction upon hearing a gunshot in a crowd would be to do anything but either run or hit the deck.

Apparently it brings out the whiney pinko-liberals as well.

Really? You think they'd focus their attention on the batshiat loonies who did it rather than the guns.

And you are not a liberal.

That's gotta be the first time in the history of Fark that someone is trying to convince another that he's a liberal.

I'll bite, tho -- how ya figure that gun control advocacy != leftward leaning politics?

2006-02-13 5:04:19 PM
/still waiting for liberal selective outrage over Chappaquidic...

...and Vince Foster....

I AGREE 100%! After my mom was shot by a batshiat loony, I wish she had been carrying a gun that night to defend herself.
