Oh dear. I'm gonna say it right now...

AYB... yadda yadda, you know the rest.
2002-05-20 05:06:59 AM
Surprisingly enough, that's not on the list.

Some of the commentary is pretty funny, though. Then again, I'm a dork.
2002-05-20 05:08:42 AM
"blood is thick but syrup's thicker."

that genious!
2002-05-20 05:15:37 AM
So where's "Someone set us up the bomb"?
2002-05-20 05:19:30 AM
This sort of thing was teh funnie in Bad_CRC's video but, other than that, it's just boring.

No good can come of this.
2002-05-20 05:29:12 AM
No AYB reference?

I'm a little concerned.

Make your time.
2002-05-20 05:35:26 AM
I think this guy's a bit too obsessed with finding homosexuals in video games.
2002-05-20 05:37:25 AM
No Zero Wing? For shame.
2002-05-20 05:39:09 AM
Never underestimate the power of dolphin

Words to live by.
2002-05-20 05:40:27 AM
Oh man, a lot of those were laugh out loud funny.
2002-05-20 05:46:57 AM
Well, this sucked. Most of it wasn't even Engrish. Just him trying to be clever.
2002-05-20 05:51:03 AM
How about 'A winner is you'?
2002-05-20 05:51:58 AM
So this is what happenes to you when you play Neo Geo games?
2002-05-20 05:52:35 AM
This guy left out way too many, and there's too much NeoGeo. Everyone new it sucked, but it's what Wal-Mart was putting in the lobby at the time.

Metal Gear needs it's own list almost.
2002-05-20 05:55:58 AM
Something tells me this will become a Photoshop cliche...
2002-05-20 05:56:50 AM
Err, this...

2002-05-20 05:58:40 AM
Well, since it was already linked to before it probably won't end up on the main page, but here's a great site of laugh out loud engrish. Just showed it to my coworker and he was rolling.

(sorry about the lack of linkage, I'm not "savvy" with your "html")
2002-05-20 06:01:01 AM
Hmmm. No "Eastmost pinincula holds the key".
2002-05-20 06:15:28 AM
Think this is my favorite:
[image from too old to be available]
...I have to try and remember that quote in case I ever get in a fight. ;)
2002-05-20 06:29:32 AM
I can't believe they neglected Politank Z's quote when he finally gets the 7 waku balls... And I quote...

Oh well, I gotta give 'im props for at least having some Waku Waku 7 in there.
2002-05-20 07:07:45 AM
Doble, what NES wrestling game was that from?
2002-05-20 07:51:22 AM
For shame, Grivas. That's from Tag Team Wrestling, the origin of Strong Bad. And it's weird that there was nothing there from Zero Wing, Zelda, or Dragon Warrior.

I want the next popular cliche to be that one that says "Here is a graveyard of you!" Almost sounds like something straight out of fatchicksinpartyhats.
2002-05-20 07:58:11 AM
The title should be "Top 100 examples of Video Game Engrish of all time from 30 Neo Geo games I own.
That's pretty much all it was. Not that I'm knocking Neo geo, but there were SOOO many more he coul've put on there.....
2002-05-20 08:07:15 AM

Waku Waku 7 is the best fighting game ever. He must have had a corrupted rom though-- Fernandez and Bonus Kun NEVER said these things! Fernandez's second quote is Rai's victory quote against... Mauru (i think), and Bonus Kun's (shown above), is actually Arina's victory quote against Slash.

This site let me down-- I was expecting some sort of compilation. All this site has proven was this guy has only played about 6 games.
2002-05-20 08:13:01 AM
And can I forget? He forgot one of the most obvious and blatant uses of Engrish in an arcade game. And it's even a NEO GEO game! Yes, you thought right...

Ah, Tag Team wrestling.... It's been too long, my friends.

Another trip down NES memory lane: http://www.whodah.com/Misc/mario.swf
2002-05-20 08:25:59 AM
Zim1: for shame on YOU, that quote is from Pro Wrestling for NES, not Tag Team.
2002-05-20 08:28:09 AM
Methinks some people spend a little too much time sitting in front of a video game. I checked it out becasue I thought it would be funny AYB type stuff, but really, it's just a little bit sad. Oh well.

Pro Wrestling characters:

Fighter Hayabusa... This white guy is the game's premier jobber. Beside nailing you with a mean piledriver, there isn't much else he can do to you. He is your first opponent with for whomever you chose... well, unless you pick him. He wears ''traditional'' black trunks and boots.

Star Man... The game's resident masked luchadore is Star Man. This ''mysterious benefactor'' wears purple, full-body ring attire with a violet star on his mask. For added spunk, he wears what appears to be violet ''undies'' over his suit and boots to match them. Star Man has the most effective ''crowd pop'' move in the game. He'll get a running start and give you a hurtin' with a flying forearm smash. In addition to this marvel, the man can perform a move in which he stands feet together and does a backflip while giving you two firm boots to the gut. Wowza.

Kin Corn Karn... This guy is also a scrub. He appears to be some type of ''pharaoh'' or Chinese person that attempts many chops, which apparently is his only good move. I don't suggest picking this dude as your character.

Giant Panther... He has one of the reddest tans I have ever seen, wears yellow trunks and boots AND has blonde hair. Might he be the game's Hulk Hogan, appearance-wise? It's definitely possible, but of course, he shares no trademark moves with the real-life Hulkamaniac. Panther sets himself quite far away and then lets his head rattle your brains. Watch out for his claw-hold; the other of his two ''crowd pop'' moves.

King Slender... Woooo! Despite being remarkably pale (this may be due to the NES's limited color palette) and having light orange hair, the ''Slender One'' is thought to be modeled after wrestling legend ''Nature Boy'' Ric Flair. Arguably the game's most popular character (according to my brother and others I have talked with), the King can execute many a spine-busting, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, which is his trademark move. King Slender sports orange trunks and boots. It seems popular for the game characters to wear the same color trunks and boots as that of their hair color. At least they all match!

The Amazon... I'm not sure what this guy/thing is! For the review's sake, I'll say he is half man and half beast. Amazon is green in appearance and appears to be balding, if that's any help to your imagination. This little cheater will gouge you in the eyes and hit you with a foreign object (the in-game data says this move is a choke, but my eyes tell me otherwise).

I was always Star Man, but the best name was Kin Corn Karn.
2002-05-20 09:05:26 AM
Was it me, or were they all from the same 3 games? He forgot the classic ones that any gamer'd know: "Master is using it and you can have this." "Uh oh, the truck have started to move."... There isn't even any SNK games on there afaik, the people after whom Engrish was backformed (from SNKglish).

I do´NT know who made this but it rocks.
2002-05-20 09:21:34 AM
hehe. . . Metal Gear. I still say, "Uh oh the truck have started to move" whenever I get on a public bus.
2002-05-20 09:42:18 AM
I want some tacos after we save the ruins!!!

I like it.
2002-05-20 10:06:08 AM
One that sticks with me is an old BBC Micro game that used to say "HA HA YOUR COMPLETLY DEAD".
2002-05-20 10:31:38 AM
Never underestimate the power of dolphin

Ya hear! That's an an OBVIOUS reference to me! Feeeeear me!

2002-05-20 11:54:39 AM
No, THIS is the original best site for crazy video game Engrish.
2002-05-20 11:55:21 AM
Damn my inept HTML skills.

Here's the URL. Screw hyperlinks.

Where the hell is spoony?

Best. Insult. Ever.

Well, after dweebenheimer.
2002-05-20 03:02:18 PM
Dahne: You spoony bard!

I think 'You cannot stop me with paramecium alone!' is pretty damn funny.
2002-05-20 03:12:38 PM
"You spoony bard!" is right up there with "ACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
2002-05-20 03:27:58 PM
and they missed the most obvious one

"all your base are belong to us"
