MastaBrembo: Ironic that Reggie may end up with the Texans.

Not really. There's little regional influence in the NFL. It's not like the transition from high school to college.

Your desire to have the first (and presumably greenlit) thread both astounds and frightens me, submitter.

Mack Brown is an evil, back-stabbing Judas. Go Trojans. Run up the score, if you can, but a solid W is just as good.

Kind of an early start, isn't it?

It saddens me that my boss feels UT will get pounded. I should quit. I dont like him anyway.

trashcancream: USC 60
TEXAS 55

I think Texas' defense is better than USC's offense.(Mainly because of depth) I don't see that happening.

If Texas wins, then either quit or KHITBASH.

I DO think Texas' offense is better than USC's defense.

So what you are saying is that they are equal?

With all this hype, i hope the game sucks. I wanna see Texas 6 USC 0, so crappy that they only have one touch and a missed extra point. Show up espn with there 40 part series on USC being the best team ever

Sick of it All

Mods, bless your souls and your hearts... My second green, for the same game, and the same reason, with one of the teams the same.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I think Mack Brown is a better motivator than Pete Carroll, but Carroll is the better X's and O's guy. And he's had six weeks to prepare for this game. A national title game. In his team's home stadium. I'm going with USC to win.

Really? What shirt are you talking about? I've said that for years every time I'm "forced" to root for y'all. I need a commission check since it started in 1996 when I was rooting for you to kill Nebraska...which was an awesome sight.

2006-01-04 3:09:07 PM
USC 35
Texas 28

Go Trojans!

2006-01-04 3:09:26 PM
Please just let it be shorter than last nights shankfest!?! Oh yeah and please forgive me but, Hook Em'. As a southern boy, I can't like the PAC-10. It's a rule.

2006-01-04 3:10:03 PM
No. On paper, I'd say Texas is better (offense and defense are good, whereas USC's defense isn't exactly great).
But... USC has the coaching edge, by far.

2006-01-04 3:11:58 PM
I have no interest in either team, so.....cattle or condoms?

2006-01-04 3:12:51 PM
How is Mack Brown a better motivator than Carroll? Seriously, I'd like to know why you believe that, considering how well PC's teams have performed in big bowl games in recent years. I haven't seen many coaches ever that can motivate a team like PC can.

2006-01-04 3:13:47 PM
As a UCLA grad I want the Pac-10 to do well but I'll kill myself if I have to listen to $C fans pop off for another year about "the greatest college team of all time" and "dynasties" and "Leinart is a god" and other crap like that.

Go Texas, hook 'em or whatever it is you people do. Do it for the children.

Given this is the only time of the year that USC actually likes coming to Brookside Park... I'm gonna go with the Trojans.

Mack Brown = Texas fold'em in big games.

puff999: Seriously, I'd like to know why you believe that, considering how well PC's teams have performed in big bowl games in recent years. I haven't seen many coaches ever that can motivate a team like PC can.

I think Carroll is a good motivator, but motivation only goes so far. Preparation is the key, and Pete Carroll's teams are almost always better prepared than their opponents. I've seen more of Mack Brown through the years in college than Carroll, and he always seems to have a knack for motivating players, but that's my own observation.

2006-01-04 3:18:18 PM
How is Mack Brown a better motivator than Carroll?

That's debatable. I'd say he's done more with less as far as talent is concerned. USC has dominated in recruiting over the last three years. Texas' not far behind, but they don't get blue-chips from everywhere...typically just Texas.

2006-01-04 3:22:13 PM
Wisconsin's not there, so Pasadena should have some booze left afterward.

2006-01-04 3:27:35 PM
The difference in recruiting talent between Texas and USC is NOT much... it isn't like Texas is starving for players.

Mack Brown has, nearly ever season (save this one, and probably last season)) underachieved.
