I wish there was an "I don't care" option on that survey.

2005-09-28 12:27:13 PM
Yes, but is it an "Extreme" makeover?

The new look is pretty, and sure to guarantee protection from counterfeiters for at least three days!

2005-09-28 12:27:43 PM
I still prefer all the classic bills.

2005-09-28 12:27:44 PM
And the notes are still all the same size?

They need to add white splashes.

There are $10 bills? Who knew!

2005-09-28 12:28:49 PM
I'd buy that...for a dollar.

2005-09-28 12:29:44 PM
Why don't we just do it, ya know, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD, and make each denomination a differnt color (and possibly size as well) to amke them easier to tell apart?

2005-09-28 12:29:55 PM
At this rate, with a little hard work and the willingness to see the thing through, maybe some day American money will be as gay looking as European money.

I wish they would change American money completely. It's so old and lame.

I like the paper they make it out of, but they should make it all different colours like the euros. And get some cool holograms. And a better font. And stuff.

I think the new 'coloured' American money looks worse than the old ones.

Adding color to the new bills will have no impact on counterfeiting.

Counterfeiters will still print the old notes and they will still be legal tender.

Once the counterfeiters grasp the cutting edge technology of using color, these too will be counterfeited. I'm guessing this will occur within days of their release to the public.

I'm sure there are millions in counterfeit bills already made and ready for circulation.

Yes, because Canadian money is so dignified with the goony bird or loony bird or whateverthefarkbird it is.

From TFA: Don't look for the more colorful $10 to show up at your local ATM machine right away.

I wouldn't expect $10 bills to come out of my ATM for me anyway. Is there a bank that gives out bills other than twenties?

thats how we keep those damn mexicans from crossing the border with our confusing money you damn liberal jackass!

I'm just glad they don't tinker with the $1 very often. I can't imagine giving the stripper real money.

American money used to have color about 100 years ago, but we shifted to current designs to reduce costs.

Hey, I'm a fan of the new money. Still, I wish I had one single card that could take care of everything for me. ID, money, SSN, etc.

The back looks like a photoshop job. They need to do something about that oval with the building.... It looks like they scanned in the old bill, cut out the building with the elipse tool, and put it on top of the new design.

Not sure I'd call a $10 a "Symbol of Freedom". Not in today's economy. Maybe a $100.

I think Canada mocks us all the time. We have a big flap about medical marijuana, like the world is just going to end if it's allowed, and Canada just does it. No big deal, no reefer madness. Then we pee our collective panties over the prosect of, gasp, homosexuals in civil unions. And again, Canada just allows it. Nothing happens. The world doesn't end. Jebus doesn't return from Mount Olympus or wherever to smite the sodomites with laser beams.

I have run across said ATMs twice... conveniently, both were ATMs for a credit union, and both were on a college campus. They gleefully spat out $10 bills (in addition to the standard $20s). Because, sometimes you have $12 in your bank account, $0 in your wallet, and you really want to buy some of the crappy college food.

Everybody i've ever talked to on the Internet about ATMs (which is surprisingly more than you'd think) has said that. No-one i've talked to has ever heard of ATMs that give out less than $20.

I was actually surprised by that, because i don't know of any ATM here (Iowa) that doesn't give out $10 bills. Some of them even give out fives.

I have USBank, i think they go as low as tens. The ATM at the convenience store down the street gives out fives.
