Why are all the pics and video of looters they've been showing all black people?

Why aren't they showing the white looters?

2005-08-30 1:39:28 PM
When life gives you water, make beer.

/Or is it the other way around?

2005-08-30 1:42:00 PM
Just like that old German proverb:

In wine there is wisdom.
In beer there is strength.
In water there is bacteria.

2005-08-30 1:42:22 PM
A little charity in the form of a free Beer goes a long way,
sheesh
whats your problem?

2005-08-30 1:42:40 PM
Errk: Why are all the pics and video of looters they've been showing all black people?

Have you ever seen the demographics of New Orleans?

2005-08-30 1:43:54 PM
That is one magnificent hairstyle.

2005-08-30 1:44:46 PM
Errk

I think all the white people were wealthy enough to get out of town, or dumb enough to presently be trapped in their attics by floodwater.

2005-08-30 1:45:48 PM
I love that he stuffed one in his back pocket.

2005-08-30 1:45:59 PM
Looking at that hair I think it's apparent he was facing the hurricaine when it made landfall.

2005-08-30 1:46:10 PM
It's not like he's stealing a stereo. I mean fark it. Hurricane hits, there are NO stores open or capable of functioning, you're out of beer. I'm not saying it's right, but man, there are exceptions to rules.

2005-08-30 1:46:48 PM
Booboo23

In water there is bacteria.

There's a lot more than bacteria in THAT water. Every dead rag and piece of dog poo and anything else you might think of, is brewing in that porridge.

2005-08-30 1:48:35 PM
Everything in any store is probably going to expire anyway.

And I don't agree with the philosphy that it should go to waste rather than be stolen.

2005-08-30 1:50:07 PM
Isn't that Drew's Brand? Was this man paid for his effort?

*hmmm*

2005-08-30 1:51:05 PM
Dad?

2005-08-30 1:51:14 PM
Maybe that guy works for Heineken. Did you ever think of that, racists?

2005-08-30 1:52:02 PM
Mom?

2005-08-30 1:52:08 PM
How do we know he didn't pay for it?

2005-08-30 1:52:26 PM
hero tag?

2005-08-30 1:53:51 PM
Hell yes hero. Wading around in nasty ass water, nowhere to go...I'd be getting blitzed too. It's not like he can just run to the 7/11.

2005-08-30 1:54:58 PM
and buy it.

/finishes thought

2005-08-30 1:56:23 PM
You know it's lunchtime when seeing a bag of chocolate chip cookies floating in slime with a looter makes you hungry.

2005-08-30 1:57:17 PM
BooBoo23: In water there is bacteria.

Bingo.

I'd be drinking beer, it's safer than the water right now.

2005-08-30 1:57:47 PM
Hooray beer!

2005-08-30 2:03:07 PM
I sure hope he thinks to rinse those bottles in alcohol before putting his mouth on it.

2005-08-30 2:03:34 PM
He's not looting - he's rescuing the beer.

2005-08-30 2:33:28 PM
volfan: Looking at that hair I think it's apparent he was facing the hurricaine when it made landfall.

That is the funniest thing I've read all day.

2005-08-30 2:37:35 PM
When looting beer becomes illegal, only criminals will loot beer...wait...um...

2005-08-30 2:43:33 PM
my_word_is_poontang:

He's not looting - he's rescuing the beer.

this may very well make my list. 10 points for the profile. One of these days I'll get around to making a PS award for this stuff.

2005-08-30 2:55:07 PM
It's thirsty work looting all day.

/Someone hand me a rifle...
//Should have looted a hot comb for his hair.

2005-08-30 3:07:15 PM
SockMonkeyHolocaust: I love that he stuffed one in his back pocket.

That's so if a cop tells him to put his hands up, he won't lose them all.

2005-08-30 3:46:33 PM
I though spitting coffee on the keyboard was an exaggeration until volfan's comment.

Bravo.

Missmez makes a good point: how much of the looted foodstuffs will be potable and other items usable after being soaked in water contaminated by feces and other material? Those Levi jeans you got "off the rack" may smell like ass after many washings, I'm sure.

Ferruz: how much of the looted foodstuffs will be potable and other items usable after being soaked in water contaminated by feces and other material? Those Levi jeans you got "off the rack" may smell like ass after many washings, I'm sure.

(a) I don't think there should be much concern for the contamination of the objects, foodstuffs or otherwise, they are looting. For gods sake they are wading/swimming through this cesspool which I am sure will take care of them eventually because of the bacteria and disease festering throughout.

Which brings me to point (b)... I am sick of hearing about these asshats that say they are going to "ride out the storm" at home despite the hundreds of warnings and mandatory evacuations that have been ordered. We shouldn't be wasting our time saving those who had the ability to leave. They predicted this pretty accurately, and no one should be saying "I told you so," so those people who still think they're going to "ride this one out" by staying on the second floor of their flooded house with no food, water, electricity, or sewage because they live in a "strong community" better not start complaining and ask for help when their house collapses with them in it because the foundation turns to mush and crumbles beneath them.

The media has neglected saying anything bad about the people doing any of this everytime I've seen a story on them. So... to sum up...

My stance is if you had the ability to leave but didn't, those sent in to rescue have the ability to help, but shouldn't. Sorry but that has been pissing me off. We have warning systems for a reason... who knew they would work someday.

/end rant.

The entire city is designed to be a disaster waiting to happen... if this one doesn't do it in, then the next one(s) will - seriously, where will NO be in 20, 50 or 100 years?... it's just a matter of time...

2005-08-30 5:32:04 PM
bravo volfan.. bravo

volfan: Looking at that hair I think it's apparent he was facing the hurricaine when it made landfall.

Well played, sir.

I have no problem with the looting of perishables. The people that are there need to eat and the food is just going to go bad before the owners return anyway. But I question the intelligence of someone who spends time looting beer so they can get soused instead of helping other people.

Seems pretty selfish to me.

2005-08-30 7:22:02 PM
" my babies are gonna eat tonight"

2005-08-30 7:22:10 PM
Bad times for Ordell.

Why are all the pics and video of looters they've been showing all black people?

Why aren't they showing the white looters?

I watched that on NBC News tonight, nothing but black looters shown. That network will be getting a nasty letter from the National Association of Black Journalists for failure to show sensitivity.

2005-08-30 7:23:35 PM
Errk

They're not showing just black people, I saw video of a couple white guys they arrested for looting where it actually called them looters. However, it's the South, there are a lot of poor blacks in urban areas, chanes are the vast majority of looters are black.

2005-08-30 7:23:51 PM
Bottled beer is a perishable? Should he have grabbed the canned goods too?
/don't care, just sayin'

2005-08-30 7:23:54 PM
I believe looting perishables if you need them is okay in this situation. How many of the people looting will probably charge $20 for a loaf of bread. if they loot and share, or use it them selves then okay, but people are looting jeans, jewelry, tv's(no electricity WTF).

2005-08-30 7:26:23 PM
I'm OK with this. As mentioned, there's really no potable water and it's not like he's making off with televisions and stereos.

2005-08-30 7:27:06 PM
Errk: Why are all the pics and video of looters they've been showing all black people?

I'm not trying to be racist here, but the rich people (mostly white) all got out of New Orleans before the hurricane while all of the poor (mostly black) didn't have the money or transportation to get out. It was almost all black people in the Superdome too (with the exception of a few hippies)

2005-08-30 7:27:15 PM
he don' look so good

2005-08-30 7:28:46 PM
eabod [TotalFark]

Hooray beer!

Dang...beat me.
