I think everyone is missing what is really going on here. The school is taking advantage of him on a minor technicality because I'm sure he's going there under the GI bill, so it's the taxpayer that's paying the increased rate.

You are a moron who has obviously never been in the military and knows nothing about the GI Bill. For one, the GI Bill is something you EARN, not some hand out. It is part of the deal when you sign up.

You give up many of your civil rights and 4 years of your life, and agree to go get shot at in foreign shiite-holes if the President deems it necessary, and in return the taxpayer agrees to give you a paycheck and money for college when you get out (assuming you survive).

That being the case, the money goes to you, not directly to your college. Everyone with the GI Bill gets a flat rate set by the government. If that amount is more than your tuition, you get to keep the difference (since it is your money, you earned it). Thus, the former soldier using his hard-earned GI Bill funds definitely does care what tuition he is being charged.

You should really check the facts before you go popping off like that; it just makes you look ignorant.

Also, this is really a non-issue. According to Federal Law a soldier may designate any state he chooses as his home of record, even if he does not live there. For my 4 years stationed in Washington I maintained California (where I grew up) as my home of record, yet had no trouble getting resident tuition at the UW.
