Pathetic.

Hi, Karl! Loved what you did with the Plame thingy. You are badly in need of indictment. See you in the news at some point (I hope), if the reporters are not too frightened of going to prison to speak.

1) George Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. This is a charge that has been repeated ad nauseum by opponents of the war, but the claim that Bush "lied" about stockpiles of WMDs doesn't hold up to the least bit of scrutiny.

Bush went on Meet the Press and ADMITTED that he lied about WMDs. Prior to that, I myself was a strong supporter of Bush and the war in Iraq, believe it or not. When he himself admitted that he lied, that was the last straw for me. That's when I dropped Bush and became the GuinnessDrinker you all know and love (or hate).

2005-07-11 3:01:10 AM
3) The Bush Administration claimed Iraq was responsible for 9/11. It's always difficult to prove a negative, but that simply never happened.

So then, the right wing is now admitting that we're not fighting the war in Iraq because of 9/11. That means, then, that we're fighting it for the oil. It's always nice to see your opponents sabotage themselves.

2005-07-11 3:06:08 AM
i'm all debunked out after that debunking.

time to hit the debunkhouse for some shut-eye.

2005-07-11 3:24:52 AM
Right wing news? hahah. See submitter, the point of news is to be free of political influence. Granted, not all of it is (on both sides), but to openly announce your news is biased is just painful.

GuinnessDrinker:

That and regardless of what the real reason was, it certainly wasn't what we were told.

Yeah, I admit I saw the link and didn't bother to read it.

Good lord. Did anyone else read that and feel pity for the author? Poor guy, utterly delusional. I'll give him some credit though, he's mastered spin as well as his gods in the Republican Party. Just wow.

middleoftheday: Yeah, I admit I saw the link and didn't bother to read it.

i tried. i only made it far enough to see this:

I'll give it a try.

/working on it now.. quite boring actually.

2005-07-11 4:33:24 AM
I've always wondered what motivates people to defend either political party to such an extent that it makes them seem almost fanatic. I guess everyone has to be nuts about something.

2005-07-11 4:38:27 AM
Too boring, it seems.

If get another wind I'll condense it; I wrote it "retort" style against his points (a la Fark flambe) but it's too big to be interesting since he goes on and on about things plus it's also too boring for me to proofread.

2005-07-11 6:22:36 AM
The Bush administration has never claimed that Iraq was involved in 9/11

Yes they did. Mentioned 9/11 in conjunction with Iraq at Ft. Bragg speech.

2005-07-11 8:44:25 AM
I love the smell of hallucinations in the morning.

2005-07-11 8:50:29 AM
DeadZone: Yes they did. Mentioned 9/11 in conjunction with Iraq at Ft. Bragg speech.

Closest I could find was "they are trying to shake our will in Iraq just as they tried to shake our will on September the 11th, 2001." ( transcript (pops) OMG TEH PREZINDENT BLAMD IRAQ 4 911!!1!!11!!!11oneone

There's a lot of BS flying from both sides. It's silly to think either side is 100% accurate in their assessment of the situation.

2005-07-11 9:08:26 AM
Ok, Mods, please greenlight one of the wacky "Impeach Bush" petitions to even this one out.

There's a lot of BS flying from both sides.

Here's FactCheck.org's take on the subject.

Bush went on Meet the Press and ADMITTED that he lied about WMDs.

Please post (or link) the transcript of this alleged admission.

the point of news is to be free of political influence

That's the old-fashioned mid-to-late-20th century view. When news was moving toward monopoly there was some value in seeking the impossibile "objective, neutral" reporting. But competition has returned, thanks to cable, Internet, and cheap publishing. Better to have a marketplace of styles and biases and expect people to know how to judge the reporting.

Ok, Mods, please greenlight one of the wacky "Impeach Bush" petitions to even this one out.

Already done. "Bush may be eligible for impeachment" is on the Top Comments [of 2005] list linked on the left side.

2005-07-11 9:31:06 AM
Wow... you can put the entire right-wing collection of arguments into eight brief points. I don't want anyone to tell me anymore that "You must not know all the facts."

2005-07-11 10:02:02 AM
"Once you understand one crucial fact, that numerous prominent Democrats with access to intelligence data also openly declared and obviously believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction..."

What a brilliant way to twist the facts. So in order for Bush to be lieing, he has to be the only one that thinks Saddam had WMD's?

2005-07-11 10:04:38 AM
I predict an informed, civil debate about this topic, in which many minds are changed- a discussion in which we find that Farkers disregard petty partisan grudges and grow together for the good of America.

Five bucks to the first person to use the term "Jingo" or its variations (Jingoistic, jingoism) in an attack on the website, the person who posted the link, Right Wingers, Conservatives, Republicans, Neo-Cons, Christians, various other humans, or fuzzy widdle puppies. Or me.

Isn't the phrase 'Right Wing News' an oxymoron?

Actually, isn't the 'oxy' bit superfluous?

2005-07-11 10:30:17 AM
Nuke DC and we can start from scratch.

2005-07-11 10:30:24 AM
I got as far as "Once you understand the fact that numbers of democrats......." Sorry I'm not wasting any of my news reading time on party propaganda. I think where I read pretty much sums it up anyway. Someone is going to play the blame game.

I'm no Republican, but this article just adds to the right wing actually being the right wing.

How is 'Right Wing News' an oxymoron in even the loosest sense of the word?

How does crap like this get greenlit? Is this a paid ad or did Drew add a little something to his beer this morning?

This article is pointless. Iraq is a free and democratic nation with their own government and security forces. The president told me so.

4) The war in Iraq was actually planned by people like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz back in 1998 at a think tank called the Project for the New American Century.

Not true!

Everyone knows it's because "dingbat" thought putting the US in a war would "improve" the economy.

/Hey! It always does.
//No. Not really.
///I think he read it in a Newsweek article.
