2002-04-11 03:41:50 PM
I agree, but this line from the movie made me laugh my ass off:

"We successfully bred a bulldog with a shiatzu. We called it a bullshiat".

Sorry for the filter fark, it was nessecary. :)
2002-04-11 03:44:38 PM
Big Gulps huh?......Well, see ya later.
2002-04-11 07:48:05 PM
What can I say?? Talent of Plenty.
2002-04-11 07:48:57 PM
The "apocolypse" itself is a sign of the impending "apocolypse".
2002-04-11 07:49:03 PM
Finally, truth in journalism.
2002-04-11 07:49:24 PM
Whatever, that movie is awesome.
2002-04-11 07:50:39 PM
Pretty bird...pretty bird...
2002-04-11 07:51:53 PM
I may as well be one of the first...

"How is this IRONIC?"
2002-04-11 07:52:10 PM
Long Duck Dong and Cameron Frye. Two of the best characters ever created for cinema bar none.
2002-04-11 07:52:10 PM
thats from about three years ago, and that magazine sucks. that would piss off my roommate though, cuz he's the movies editor for it.
2002-04-11 07:54:24 PM
Dumb and Dumber is a classic. "Did you pay the gas bill?"
2002-04-11 07:54:51 PM
One of my top 5 movies

We need to go to a place that's warm. When women flow like the salmon of Cappistrano, where the beer flows like wine...I'm talking about Aspen.

These Rocky Mountains are kinda flat.
Yeah, that John Denver was full of shiat, man
2002-04-11 07:54:53 PM
What a stupid farking list. Where the fark is Hannibal? Where the fark is Tony Montana, the Corleone Family (credit: BaconFarker), especially Don Vito Corleone, Tommy (Goodfellas)? There are so many memorable characters that it's almost impossible to come up with a list. I think the guy just listed the main characters from the 25 movies that he's seen.
2002-04-11 07:55:47 PM
" Someplace warm, someplace where the women instinctively
flock like the salmon of capistrano"

put me down for this line as my favorite.....
2002-04-11 07:56:32 PM
I don't have a problem with Dumb and Dumber being considered one of the top 25 movies of all time. It's one of my favorites!
2002-04-11 07:56:52 PM
Why have all these really old articles been posted lately? Is this week devoid of interesting news?
2002-04-11 07:58:17 PM
What's IRONIC about that? If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Please, people, learn what IRONY is.
2002-04-11 07:59:02 PM
i totally agree Zylon. People, learn the meaning of the word "ironic" or dont use the tag.
2002-04-11 07:59:05 PM
Anyone remember the SNL movie critic skit with Jeff Daniels and Chris Elliot... ok I guess not.
2002-04-11 07:59:17 PM
The guy addresses the points in the list. He's only covering characters that ONLY EXIST in film, not ones that existed in books (TV, comics, etc.) like the Corleones or Hannibal Lechter. While his list is a bit screwy in places, he's entitled to his own view.

Favourite part from Dumb and Dumber:
cop: Pull over!
Harry: No it's a cardigan, but thanks for asking?

then the best line: Gimme that booze you pumpkin-pie haircutted freak!
2002-04-11 08:00:25 PM
Heywood_Jablome: You probably cried during "A Perfect World".
2002-04-11 08:01:39 PM
Oh, they're talking about American movies filmed in color. that explains a lot.

But why, god, oh why did Jules Winfield get last place?

"Oh, did I break your concentration?"
2002-04-11 08:03:14 PM
Dumb and dumber was a great film if you like Jerry Lewis'esque films that is.
2002-04-11 08:03:19 PM
Anyone remember the SNL movie critic skit with Jeff Daniels and Chris Elliot... ok I guess not.

Chris Farley?
2002-04-11 08:04:54 PM
Oh, they're talking about American movies filmed in color. that explains a lot.

But why, god, oh why did Jules Winfield get last place?

I'm not sure if those are supposed to be in order.

"MMhmm...that is a tasty burger!"
2002-04-11 08:05:59 PM
No, Chris Elliot. The skinny red-headed guy?
2002-04-11 08:06:42 PM
2002-04-11 08:07:21 PM
Alphabetical order, people
2002-04-11 08:07:45 PM
No, Chris Elliot. The skinny red-headed guy?

Don't recall that one. I thought you were referring to the movie talk show where Chris Farley interviewed movie stars.

Remember Chris Elliot's short-lived sitcom?
2002-04-11 08:08:55 PM
--Come on, give it to me straight. I drove a long way to see you, the least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?

Not good.

You mean not good, like one out of a hundred?

I'd say more like one out of a million.

So you're telling me there's a chance?
2002-04-11 08:10:23 PM
"You know what I'm sick and tired of? I'm sick and tired of ekeing my way through life."

The only serious line in the movie.
The rest of the movie acts as a foil for this one concept.
2002-04-11 08:11:32 PM
I am appalled that kaiser soze did not make this list.

[Suspects in a lineup are asked to read a phrase.]
Cop: Number 1, step forward.
Hockney: Hand me the keys, you farking cocksucker.
Cop: Number 2, step forward.
McManus: Give me the farking keys, you farking cocksucking motherfarker, aaarrrghh!
Cop: Knock it off! Get back! Number 3, step forward.
Fenster: [laughing] Hand me the keys, you cocksucker!
Cop: In English, please?
Fenster: Excuse me?
Cop: In English.
Fenster: Hand me the farking keys, you cocksucker, what the fark?
2002-04-11 08:12:43 PM
Ahh yes, the filter rendered that beautifully.
2002-04-11 08:19:26 PM
500,000 bytes of Jim Varney is way excessive, dood.
2002-04-11 08:21:41 PM
...and if it's not too much trouble, I WOULD like my undies back.

Has anyone here every seen the movie "Falling Down"? The main character (played by Michael Douglas) was a great character who represented the struggle of the free man against the backwards way society can work sometimes... a sort of voice of reason in an illogical world.
2002-04-11 08:26:23 PM
You go now! No trouble!
2002-04-11 08:33:41 PM
Yes, I saw Falling Down. Great movie.

Is Varney missing all of his molars? It appears so.
2002-04-11 08:35:15 PM
2002-04-11 08:43:14 PM
Well - fortunately the inclusion of these guys and the lack of credibility that comes with it explains the inclusion of the guy from Taxi Driver.
That movie was over-freakin-rated. </flamebait>
2002-04-11 08:53:13 PM
Bickle, OK. I might even go for Cameron Frye. But the rest of the list if farked.

Darth Vader? Col. Kurtz from Apocalypse Now? Sgt. Hartman? Mr. Pink? McMurphy from Cuckoo's Nest? Cool Hand muhfuggin LUKE?!?!?
2002-04-11 08:53:38 PM
Dev2r said: The "apocolypse" itself is a sign of the impending "apocolypse".

Perhaps you mean "apocalypse"
2002-04-11 08:54:47 PM
Do People honestly not know what ironic means, sad.

Now rain on my wedding day, THATS ironic

2002-04-11 09:15:19 PM
Yeah... uh... these guys are pretty much retarded. Did you see the rest of their list? They're obessed with bad pop culture apparently, and they compromise good taste and understanding of what makes a great character to look cool and hip.
2002-04-11 09:25:07 PM
It's ironic in the Alanis Morisette sense of the word.
2002-04-11 09:33:57 PM
Read the farking article before you bag the list you stupid coonts! All you farkers biatching about characters that are farking based on farking books, plays, tv show etc missed the whole farking point and look like retards! It's characters that exist only in movie farking land! Screenplay only characters you dumb coonts!

Aaah got that out of my system. Just wanted to swear a lot and be a bad arse like half my favourite characters in movies.

i vote for the guy from falling down as well. Awesome flick, everyone has wnated to snap like that at some stage and fark the consequences. Was he a film only character though?

What about Mr Blonde from Reservoir Dogs.
2002-04-11 09:34:18 PM
This was ironic, cause the movie sucked more wang then "Cable Guy." Dumb & Dumber was the most retarded flick I have ever seen. Ever. "Dark City" ranks up there higher then Dumb and Dumber. Heck, even "Ernest Goes to Jail" was better.
2002-04-11 10:00:07 PM
True "Ernest Goes to Jail" blew but nothing can beat the greatness of "Ernest Goes to Camp" when i was 11 I rented that movie 8 times.

I loved when the 2 Penn/Teller like guys who are in every Ernest movie built the food gun and shot ground up lobsters and spaggetti at people. Also the catapult that launched paratrooper box turtles and flaming toilets was cool.

The only other REALLY good ernest movie is "Ernest Scared Stupid" where he has to stop an army of trolls using MILK!111!!.

PS. In case anyone is wondering, the trolls come from brussel sprout-like plants that grow on an evil tree.
